I'm a farmer in Central Kansas. Seems like it's a dry year from Texas all the way up through Canada this year. People are starting to swath and bale soybeans down here because there is no water to fill the pods. But I appreciated what Bob said "these are trials that test our faithfulness". That's so true. We need to be thankful for what we have, even if it isn't much and then move on. As farmers, we have to be, as Mike Mitchell says, "next year people". We just have to push through and hope that next year we will have a bumper crop. I think that's what keeps us farmers going is that anticipation for that perfect year with no hail, little wind, not too hot, not to cold, the perfect amount of rain and sun. I'm not sure if that year will ever come but I think the anticipation of that "perfect year" is what keeps us farmers going. Praying for you guys! Keep up the great content!

At times in the last two years of wet season's flooding in Australia, quite a few farmers would have liked a bit less water, but then we've had many years of drought conditions and the ground water is being replenished at least.

We went (here in south-central Manitoba, that is) from bone-dry last year to soaking wet at times this year. We had one rain this summer that dropped over seven inches of rain on us in less than six hours (and had a massive overland flood because of it), and some of the farmers around here have had to reseed TWICE because of excess water, and are now putting in claims against the one seed company for a third crop failure. They don't have much choice now to do that because they're facing minimal harvests again because the anti-insect coating the seed company chose to use this year didn't work, and bugs got most of their third seeding for canola, which was too late to get crop insurance because the insurance deadline for seeding canola and beans was the first few days of June, and nobody there would budge and extend the date for coverage due to the flooding. I have a couple spud farmers nearby, and the one fellow's likely lost 30% of his spud crop alone to excess water, and there's still places where there's water laying in the ditches and in the fields. I'm fourth generation on our farm, and Dad said he's never seen water laying around like this in his entire life, and he's been farming here since the mid-1970s. Other guys are saying they've lost pea crops to insects this year, and some of the scouting reports I've heard are saying there's bad cases of sclerotinia and club-root in the canola and the sunflowers that did make it.
Wee feel your pain, because the drought has been our biggest problem for the last three years or so, too. Our overall provincial cattle herd took it hard on the chin again last year, as we lost over 50k head to draw-downs and herd dispersals because of drastic shortages of feed across most of the province, and that after two previous years of low production for the same reason. Hopefully the rains get there, because I know a lotta guys up here who'd happily send you a few big rains so they could have a break.
As Canadian comedian extraordinaire Red Green always likes to say, "I'm pullin' for yah, because we're all in this together."

You should see what it takes to pull the cab on the Fummins. I think you pull the master cylinder and ac compressor, then disconnect the water and CAC lines, and after that it’s just a few plugs and ground straps. Lift cab straight up, full access to the engine. And you don’t loose the AC charge or the brake bleed.

Leg Arms it is nice to see you are able to take the F350 apart and know where everything goes when you put it back together. Hate to see the harvest is not going very well. That is tough to see you work all year and not get anything out of it. Try again next year and hope it works out. Best wishes

God bless you Mr. Welker for your steadfast faith and example. God always provides as He know what is best for us and what we need better than we know ourselves. What a beautiful family, thanks for sharing with us. Prayers continue. God Bless. Peace!

When I worked summers on a couple old school farms in SD. Breakfast was before sunup, lunch at 11? Dinner at 3, and supper at sunset. Sorry but everything was scratch made and knock your socks off delicious!!! Pies cakes and ice cream oh my!
Those days ended with the farm crisis of the 80s :(

Running an 8010 here. Knew this was a wear area on the Flagship machines. Fixing ours with all new shafts, sprocket, chain and rock beater before fall harvest here. If yours hasn’t, please consider laser aligning your gearbox. There were some of those that would wear prematurely and needed the gearbox shimmed to be better aligned.

Looks like everyone enjoyed the Hello Fresh dinner in the field. I think we will give it a try. Bummer on the peas and the Fummins.

Wish I could make it to the farm progress show and meet you guys! Keep cranking out the videos! Hopefully the rest of harvest you don’t have to spend so much time turning wrenches on your combines from rocks

Wise words Bob Welker - "if you dont have a test, you dont know if you have faith". Scott, I've used the stare and wish method as well trying to will something to happen! I think we're all guilty of that once in a while. Best of luck on the meager harvest and thanks so much for making and sharing the content.
