@darkirondiesel I'm running a 75hp ccs tune as well and get really good mileage on my ho but vgt position doesn't close all the way during cold weather warm up.
I’ve always liked duramax engines. They are fast and I think they are reliable. But now a days they are all nice and reliable for the most part. So if I were truck shipping I’d just go drive them all and pick the one you like best. My next truck will either be a duramax or powerstroke just to switch things up a bit.

I have a truck that already was deleted with a HP computer but the computer showed the wrong vin and year and all of a sudden acted like it wasnt deleted so I replaced it with a new HP computer and now I have to delete the new computer, but emissions are already off. I bought the vcm with credits.
So I’m looking at doing a DPF/DEF Delete. Can you do a video or comment here what the different types of delete there is. Is it required to remove the EGR? Or can we do just this tune and the exhaust? Or is the tune all you really need?
so you tuned first before the delete, when you deleted it did you need to upload a different tune for being no emissions? how is your truck not throwing codes for the emissions is it the can bus plugs?
The tune that comes with it I did on the other video is an “emissions off” tune which turns off the emission system and blocks any codes from popping up.
Duramax Tuner and PPEI are both saying they are working with HP Tuner on the ECM hack for the 24s. Until that happens, no go. I just messaged them August 25, 2024.

Great question, and to be completely honest, I don’t know. I’ve been hearing tuning companies saying their close to figuring it out, but I’ve been hearing that for over a year now. It took them quite a few years to figure it out for the L5P so hopefully one day they figure out the Cummins, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
To do the" resync interface" @ 7:25 , do i have to have the mpvi hooked into the truck? I got it all hooked up to my computer, but the program isnt picking it up. I dont have the truck yet, but was wanting to get everything ready that i can before hand
Can’t. GM can control the software over the air. They are going to dictate what the truck can and can’t do. Maybe if switching ECU is option it’ll work

What do you mean when you said Emissions on and off. Im doing a full delete on my 2017 DURAMAX. My service exhaust fluid light keeps blinking and the Engine light is on. Will the tune take care of all the emissions codes (the light that keeps blinking) or will I need to do a force regen or something to make the light go away before tuning?
If you get the kit I used shrsl.com/4ajh9 then it should remove the emission light but it might take a couple tune revisions to get rid of it. That’s why you always tune first and confirm the tune was successful before removing any parts from the truck.
I'm running motor ops sotf running. I usually stay in tune 1 which is the 85horse tune and might occasionally use tune 2 or even 3 for a smile. Never use tune 4 or 5 because I don't have a built transmission. I've had zero issues just pure joy and peace of mind
No I believe you need an unlocked TCM for that, but you could email them about that. Or contact GDP tuning after you purchase the kit and they can set you up (that’s who writes the tunes for the diesel dudes)

Here's a burning question from me with a brief background. For the 2nd time in 6 months, it appears my DEF tank needs to be replaced due to a faulty sensor. I currently have the "Service Emission System" code up with the limp mode mileage countdown starting. Do I need to have the dealership resolve this, or will the tuning process clear this out? Ordering this delete kit in the next week or so, can't wait!!
You can get emission compliant tuning but you’ll still use def and your emission system will function normally. If you are wanting to delete the truck you have to tune it then remove the exhaust at the very least.
Dumb question but if you had to revert and put the emissions stuff back on....can you upload the stock tune back to it and put everything back in place?
I definitely recommend adding that plug kit if you’re thinking you may have to do that in the future, just because if you don’t all your open sensor plugs will corrode from moisture

I bought my kit from spelab, you need to buy your can is plug kit separately which they sell and you’ll have to buy the unlock tool from hp it’s like $350 I believe, It says it suppose to come with credits but I’ll find out here in a while I’m working on download all software now

Then make sure the tune works and you don’t have any lights before removing any of the parts. You might have to try a couple tune files to reset the emission light/message then tune the delete tune on. Just don’t physically delete the truck until you’re 100% sure the tune worked. I’d unplug everything on the emission system first and make sure the truck starts, runs and drives with no engine lights or messages, then do the delete.

So I have a 23 L5P and I had previously installed the Edge Cts3 Evolution that had the unlock for TCM and ECM. Being that I had already unlocked the Modules would that cause any conflict with the HP tuner software when I want to T&D in a few months and if not would I still be able to use my CTS3 as just a monitor since it has the Evolution tuning software installed in it? Left it alone on this truck. It’s a completely separate module so if you want you can buy TCM tunes from a company of your choice and use the mpvi3 to install them. I think you need an unlocked TCM though.
Edge has the cheapest unlock option out there now I believe with the bonus of the monitor after the fact. Can load the custom tunes in the device as well for under a grand.
I can’t be the only guy wondering if you can just tune the egr and def systems from working? Why does the egr system have to be removed? Imagine the valve would just remain closed. leave everything in tact but remove entire dpf system. is there really no way of accomplishing this with a tuner even now? Hypothetically speaking
The egr can be left on the truck, you just need to unplug it. The exhaust NEEDS to be changed though. If you wanted to keep a stock look you could drop the factory exhaust, take it apart and punch out all the internal filters then bolt it back up under the truck. The main thing is getting the restriction out of there.
Why do we have to go thru the headache with the computer of download this and that and transfer and move file here. Hell just make it pick your tune and then plug a play! Some of us it too old for this crap….

If you have the mpvi3 device that programmed your truck the first time you shouldn’t need to buy credits. If you are buying a new mpvi3 device and using that to tune the truck then yes I believe you would need credits. The credits link the vin of the truck to the mpvi3 device. So if you use a new mpvi3 device you have to buy credits again. At least that’s my understanding of it.

I’ve never heard of guys bricking their ecms on an L5P so yes I’d say it’s sorted out.

After tuning I was getting code P0700 and others that wouldn’t clear. Luckily disconnecting the battery reconnecting and checking no codes appeared.

After upgrading the ECM and uploading the tunes, is it okay to still drive before doing the delete?
For a little bit ya but they don’t recommend you drive more then 200 miles like that. It can damage your engine. And keep it on the lowest setting.

Yes it comes with the kit. For legal reasons they can’t advertise the mpvi3 coming with a “delete” kit.
