Finally someone who knows how to include the important details. Watched a bunch of other videos and they all missed the account setup step and just assumed everyone knows to look there. Thank you!
Thank you! I’ve watched several of these, and you’re the first one to show all the connections and the entire setup process. 👏🏼 A lot of people shouldn’t be making how-to videos because they lack the common sense to do so. Great job!
THANK YOU! Have spent several frustrating hours on this - "just plug it in, good to go," they said. Why they could not have added a simple "go to the QR code" somewhere is beyond me...
Thank you for creating this video. You truly helped me successfully change out my old modem with a new XB8 modem. The step-by-step process was easy to follow. Great job! Thank you, again !
I was able to name my network but not finish activation, white lights keep blinking and imma need some support from their end like you then. Thanks for that detail.
Mine didn’t come with an Ethernet cord, I have landline but I also have a fax machine, one of the phone line jacks are covered in the back of the modem, can I take that off and plug in my fax line?
I have the old router, I have a SSID for 2.5Ghz for my Cameras, and 5ghz for my other devices such as my Computer, Phone, etc. Is there a separate SSID and password for each? Because if here is not, I will not be able to use it. My cameras NVR only with with 2.5ghz, my other cameras work with 5Ghz. I need to have a detailed user guide so I can read about it first.
but you need to connect a cable that supports 1 GB that is not coaxial, they sent me the same xb8-t and it didn't work, they told me that they want to send me a technician and he charges $150 to put in that cable that comes from outside but I connect the previous xb7-t 800gbps and it works for me
Ethernet ports,,2 at the top are phone ports,,other 4 are either net port,,if you only have one Ethernet device to plug up,,just don’t plug it into the red line port first,,use one of the others,,because if you use the red Ethernet port first you will create a bridge and that will be the only Ethernet port that works out of the 4
There is a little hole in the back. The reset button. Use a small hair pin 📌 hold the button down until the lights flash on the front. That will reset it to the default on the modem sticker
I am sorry this did not help. I need a very detailed user guide so I can set it up myself. Plus I need to know the SSID for 2.5ghz and 5ghz that should be separate, so how does my camera know what connection to use if I use the same exact SSID?

Thank you so much! Your video was 1,000 times more useful than any of the xfinity official ones.
Appreciate it ❤🎉
omg this was the only good video I could find with the small important details on activating it ! thank you so much !

Thank you very much, clear and direct. Extremely helpful.
Thank you... you had the detailed instructions I needed.
Excellent instructions. Going to try setting mine up now.
I just got the cox PW8 upgraded from PW6, I have the gigablast internet and I didn't need to plug in my coax Cale just the power and ethernet cable
I've never seen that black box mine must be realllllllly outdated I still have the tall black slim modem.......
Thank you for this video!!

Thank you Thomas.
Thankyou!!!! I was terrified Id screw this up.. Your Vid enabled me to set it up- works perfectl;y!!! ✔✔💯💯👍👍
Do you see the ethernet port with the red line on it? That ethernet port is high speed for 1200 mbps...
Thanks a bunch!

yes,, make sure it's port 1,,just test it with a regular phone first,, should have dial tone
@@ThomasReviews thank you
truly a nice video!
When I upgrade Xfinity did not give me a coax cable.
An ethernet cord did not come with mine. Is it required?
Thanks Bud

Hey do they send it in the mail or to your front door???
Front door and you have to sign for it
I got one this week and I'm taking it back.. You can't activate without the app..
but you need to connect a cable that supports 1 GB that is not coaxial, they sent me the same xb8-t and it didn't work, they told me that they want to send me a technician and he charges $150 to put in that cable that comes from outside but I connect the previous xb7-t 800gbps and it works for me
So what's the part with red line by that what's that port for? If unplugged the Ethernet cable into that?

How do I log into the APP if I unglued the old modem?
Routerlogin on a browser or type 10.0.0.1 in a browser window
I wonder why they keep only putting four ports? Same as xb7
“only” 😂 4 ports is very generous for a router/modem. Most mesh systems you get only give you 2 ports (bare minimum)
Mine didn't come with an Ethernet either or a coax.
Is this a modem and router or just a modem?
Modem/router combo
If anyone knows how many watts this uses, please let me know. Thanks.
It said it couldn't find my gateway do you have any tips on what I could do? I have all my cables plugged in

On the black model there's a pin size reset button, on the white model it's an actual button.
Mines didn’t come with an Ethernet cord
Same…

You should be able to name it the same network name and password? Then the camera and router will decide on what connection is best
Where’s the pretty girl in the thumbnail showing us? I got robbed man.
Lol..internet land
I Just did a pickup and mine won’t even turn on

Same my light keeps blinking orange and and can't connect any answers please ?

@@ulisesgarcia6990 did you ever get a solution to this? Mine is doing the same.
@@ulisesgarcia6990 that’s what mine is doing
Company sucks
You need to plug your ethernet cable into #4 slot NOT #1 to obtain a higher speed. IT MATTERS
It doesn't matter
