How about how to connect the TV box to the Xfinity Gateway/modem, instead of just to the wall coax outlet? For those who have Xfinity internet and Xfinity cable box.
Should you go to tv settings to connect your tv to wifi gateway.. You don't have to connect your tv box to wifi because it have different features .. it was not necessary 😊
@@johnr7632 I fixed mine on my own and I used a cable splitter that connects two cables into one outlet. I winged it by following the cable instructions first then set up instructions for my xFi gateway for wifi after and both worked.
I'm on my second box and I keep getting a RDK-03013 error...I've changed my plan accordingly different cables different outlets...any help would be appreciated if seen. Thx
I picked up an updated box yesterday. Screen just kept showing No Signal. Ended up attaching rabbit ears antenna. Such a waste of time.🤬 Spoke to an agent on the phone and hoping to get a tech out to the house. Not sure if it's going to happen. Very confusing.
@@paulguyer5805 we finally had xfinity guy come out and fix. He entered a code and worked fine. Something to do with units shipped from central warehouse. Hope you get it fixed.
Thanks for doing this video. I get intimidated by stuff like this and put off installing it for a .year. your video assured me I could do this. Doing the remote now, 😍 thanks
You can hook up all your televisions to one cable set top box using a splitter. But by doing so all tv's will be tuned to the same channel. You will need separate set top boxes for each tv if you want to watch different channels on each of the tv's. Hope that makes sense.
Feeling dumb but confused. They sent 3 new boxes to replace what we have and these are much smaller with no clock etc. Is this legitimately the new X1 box or is there a larger box meant to be the main one with the smaller boxes meant to be used in other rooms i.e. bedroom boxes like before?
You select guide then scroll left to select the channel you like then hit enter and a menu screen allows you to select view , record or favorite. If you hit guide then guide again you can view your selected menus like favorites
I am currently paying Xfinity for cable tv and Internet service. I am renting the same model set top box as seen in this video. I bought my own Internet modem to avoid the Xfinity monthly rental fee. Now I want to install a second tv and avoid another set top box rental fee. I see brand new Xfinity set top boxes exactly like my current one for sale from third parties. Does anyone know for sure if I purchase one of these Xfinity set top boxes and hook it up to my 2nd tv will it work? Are these things locked until Xfinity sends an unlock signal? Is Xfinity going to want me to register it for another fee of course? Anyone out there who has done this?
Trying to set up my mom's new cable box they we just got today, and it just keeps cycling through "Voice Guidance" yes or no. Been trying to fix this for hours. Xfinity is awful.
Is the Sharp TV 📺 the only question or it meant it had number of TV brands being asked?(you did not expand in this y the codes for different brands of TV)
I cannot get mine to connect to a TCL Roku smarty TV According to insurrections they provide, you can connect the coaxial cable to cable box & TV. They also provide the coax cable. I used the coax cable and it would not connect. Tech support was no help. I wasn't until I used the HDMI cable, which they also provide, then it would connect. Then it connect immediately.
Are you sure you have to remove the plastic covers in the HDMI cable??? Lots of wasted time, just get to setting it up and go through ALL of the procedures...
1:29; rear end: Got to explain this... how on earth would the company make an internet on a cable box? Can't change the channel while there's an internet outtage for NO REASON? I'm talking about even without a phone wire hooked on; that's senseless! Get a grip Xfinity!
@@donnadoherty9525 Because an Audio Receiver is a separate device from the TV or the Xfinity cable box and he doesn't have one connected. Most likely you don't either.
I wish the boxes still had a digital clock on the front!
You provide careful instructions that don't skip steps. How great!
Very helpful! Had to set up box recently & Comcast instruction enclosed=LAME. Thank you, got it done & working!!

Thank you this was a great help in setting my Parents system up for them😊🙏❤️
Thank you so much! Very helpful!!!
Well great. They did not give me a power cord or any coaxial cable. - and my x1 box is about half the size of the box in this video. I hate Comcast.

did you figure it out mine is doing the same thing

Mine is stuck on welcome screen
I just tried helping my neighbor for 50 minutes and couldn’t get through the setup. Insanely frustrating and I’m usually good with technology.
Mine too. How did you fix it?
Mine is stuck as well, went and got a new box and remote now the remote won’t paid 😫
