The gold part I was referring to in the video is not the valve seat but the valve guide and doesn’t interfere with valve.
The two sensors are and oil temperature sensor with a very small port and the other is an o2 sensor but it’s also smaller than a typical wideband port.

    "Oh no, my 'crometer'!" 😂

I can't wait to see what this does for you!!! I really believe that larger intake valve size is the key to unlocking the power potential of the 70mm BBK on an XR.

You are definitely correct on that!!

If the intake side of the head is 32mm then should I technically be running a 32mm carb?

@@DustySteel For peak high rpm performance I say yes. For the reality of drivability it could be to big. All I can say is try it and see what happens. Generally I think about 4mm smaller than intake valve size may give a good balance here.

@@MishMashMoto okay so 4mm smaller than the 36mm intake valve would be 32mm. I can try it at some point when I can afford another carb lol. Are you on the lookout for a 28mm pwk and maybe some stock mirrors? I put a 32 pilot in with the clip on the needle being one up from the middle (where it was before trying different needle positions) and now it fires right up.👍 Power Wheelie in first gear with stock gearing still.

Trying to get the same head. Shows out on the website. Did you order from SX Parts?

@@jaybraxton5625 I did just notice today that the 36/31 is sold out. They might still have the smaller size but I’m not sure, I’d have to look again. I did buy it from SXParts.

So will this head match the Big Bore Kit 222cc , sleeve/pistion ?
And Please where did you find this kit .
And what was the price .
Did I notice you seem a little concerned about the finished edges and the factory machining and trimming .
Did it need a little smoothing , the valve seat looked like it had some cuttings blocking the opening .
Can't what till it installed and tuned .
Good luck keep us posted Please.
    PS Links Please if possible.

@@philipcloutier2553 this is SXParts Big Valve Cylinder Head 36/31 like the title states. I also ordered their 70mm forged piston for this head. It’s for crf150L I believe but should fit just fine. It probably does need to be smoothed, I have only looked at it so far. Made the video and then put everything away. I probably won’t install until next week sometime. Today with the cheap $70 BBK and BBR cam I was able to do 72mph flat with some light wind from the side. I’m 6’2” and weigh a little over 200lbs. I will try to post a link in the description.

      Thanks for your prompt reply.
      That's great . I am looking to achieve 72mph to 75mph
As I live in the country and I would like to take 2 or 3 exits on the freeway to shorten my trips .
I realize that even 75mph on a sub 300lbs. bike is a risk because in strong winds , one could easily get blown off the road .
May I ask what carburetor you decided to use and what jets worked best .
      Thanks again .
Waiting for more great content .

@@philipcloutier2553 yeah, that’s our goal too and to not have it lose so much speed going up hills. I live in the foothills of the Rockies so my elevation is at 5500’ and I’m running a cheap $40 PWK with a 30 pilot and a 120 main with the needle in the middle position.
