24hr endurance podium on the 150l
Lol😂
Now this guys thinkin! Awesome idea!
Also: “24hr endurance podium on the [222]L” Fixed that for ya…
We are so back
XR150L build! Let’s gooooo!! Great videos, mate.

I've been waiting for a video for about two months, hell yeah. You are my mentor and my inspiration in everything related to dirtbikes. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
the Carb... measure the inside Dia of the intake Valve seat, subtract a mm and go for a slide that size. Mikuni is always going to be my personal Favourite, but they are what I learnt on for bike carbs.
The Cam... I don't know the engine well enough to give numbers, I've doubled output before, in fact I've gone beyond that. and the Valve springs are over twice as hard as the factory ones... Don't go that far, just double that figure & find a cam that needs springs that rate. don't forget to upgrade the Valves if you can, & retainers... most important that the springs stay attached to the valve stem
@@Tyresong that SXParts big valve head looks pretty good in my opinion.
I used to dream of this type of build as a 13 year old. Thanks for making my dream happen.
Thanks for always listening to your subscriber's requests!
I can not wait to see this little Honda come together ! I am just back from riding a Beta 125 RR four cycle in the Maine woods. Mini Bikes are just fun .

Jfg racing makes a good full exhaust I have on my cg300 build in a 79 xl125 frame. It’s a crf230 /crf150 stainless steel exhaust. It sounds great and was only like $125. I have a buddy that’s running it on his xr150l and the fitment was good.
i put that on my build check it out
I already did this build just finished it with quality parts. All plug and play big valve racing cams springs and more nickle plated. I have 11.1 I bought the $1200 and it's worth it. Ported head Ceramic block.
@@katiejackson320 what is your top speed now?
@@cjjorge6636 and cost twice as much.
@@DSteel5408ua-cam.com/video/17QnME_hlPs/v-deo.htmlsi=seHEzR62Vs67jRge
Thanks for the detailed list. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out, might have to do the same with my xr.
Buy them all and use the highest quality part from each kit
In Mexico they have 2 variations of that bike . There is a 150 like a USA model and there is a 190 with efi . I had the 190 . Really liked to bike with the efi.
kinda lame we can't get the efi model
Hell yeah let's go!
Hell yeah! I'm tuned in!
I just did the 222cc kit, it’s insane. Torque is really high. Pops wheelies just on throttle
can't wait to see what he does with this, might get one myself and lighten the weight
Great to see you back... can't wait 👍
Absolutely love these types of video :)
This is exciting! Thank you!
This is a blessing, i just subscribed...Lets go XR 150 build!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hell yea. That's gonna be a great build.
He’s back!!!
Scooter swap shop came out with a stainless exhaust system for the xr150l but it sold out quick.
Since it is essentially a CRF150F. You can just bolt on a CRF230F top end. It’s the same bottom end
I don’t think that’s true
@@douglasgholson4835 yeah, they look identical. I just got installing a 222cc BBK stage 3 cam and the SXParts big valve head 36/31 and now it shoots flames!!🔥 😁👍
So excited !
shesh you did hella research excited to see what it look like
Holy buckets let's go.
Cut your stock spark arrestor about 3/4" from the flat mounting plate (on the inside where the taper stops). This will expose some packing material which I left in as well as the inner chamber "pipe") it flows really well and it's still fairly quiet also. I wouldn't mess with the cylinder heads exhaust port or grind the weld down at the inlet of the J-tube/exhaust as this will cause high rpm reversion (ask me how I know) 😂 Good luck! 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ll be taking mine to Michigan next week on some easy trails. Maybe I’ll want the big bore kit after lol
Love it!
SO GOOD.
Nice! I’ve already installed one of the cheaper 222cc kits, not sure how worth the piston is for it. Looks like the one you showed and I had to grind the bottom of the piston to be able to clear the crank. I have a BBR cam and I’ve tested a 28mm pwk and am currently testing a 30mm pwk. I ported the intake and the exhaust. With the restrictor out I was still only able to reach 68mph on flat. Definitely faster up to speed!! I think a rear sprocket change will help achieve my goal of 75mph on flat. Could just be that I’m a beginner though and used cheap parts. Good luck with the build.
I've got the Yoshi on my XR150 with a 64.5mm piston and BBR cam. Sounds great and pulls great too. I'm having oil burning issues from me incorrectly installing the rings, so I'll probably be putting the ScooterSwapShop 222cc kit in eventually.
Ah! So you are alive!! Was yours smoking?
@@DSteel5408 It is a little, but seems to be fairly minor. I believe it's leaking more through the drain bolt than it's burning it. When I did my first oil change at 600 miles, I think I dropped the crush washer in the oil and lost it lol. I'll be making an update video/walk around video on the bike relatively soon.
@@smileyguyz thank you for the subscribe.👍 I bet you could just recheck where your pistons rings are and gap. Oh no! Luckily crush washers aren’t expensive. Mine was leaking but it was because I didn’t tighten it enough after the last time I drained the oil. I have one of the SXParts big valve head on the way. I’m super excited. They sell 70mm pistons for guys like us that have a very cheap piston.
Yes awesome
IF you do a round slide then do a UFO mod ... smooths the air under the slide ... look it up...
sick!!
There is a Athena 69mm big bore also not a big difference but is bigger than the 68 I have a 68mm in mine and it still rips though
Takegawa forged big bore kit with race cam is the way to go with a mukini carb or a kitaco big bore kit with cam and a mukini carb if you can delete the injection, I've always ran these brand in my smaller cc honda bikes
For Performance parts, Try Bintang Racing Team, Cam, head, crank and everything
One of my fav UA-cam channels by far. Keep it up! (When I become I dependently wealthy, I'll sponsor you)
I'd really like to see some suspension upgrades become available , then i would really consider getting that bike
😊 lfg !!! If america won't bring the gb350/cb350, this is gonna be the next best thing
I wonder if Athena do a big bore kit for these?
Should look into BRT kits,, and can customize the kits thru a purchase with Very,,,at "plug and play",,, i have the 250 kit for my crf150,,the kit includes a longer stroke crank, big bore piston rings, bigger valve cylinder head, cam, tunable CDI, bigger fuel injector, shaft, and it is about $1,000
You can even get an oil cooler, for it. Obcource the xr150 isn't fuel injected, but the standard parts will work with a larger carb,as you stated, more than likely you will need a 1 tooth larger front sprocket,,because of all the extra power,, I doubled the power with the kit I installed.
@@wildbillslickdog what kit did you install? Some of those BRT kits are huge!! 80mm!!🤯 I would assume anything over 70mm would need the case to also be bored.
You should start with the 28mm, I've ran a 24mm on a xr75 without much jetting issues. The bottom end was not great but man did she scream 😂
@@craigwill4324 I agree. I started with a 28mm but now have a 30mm.
Wouldn’t an exhaust from the dirt 150 fit? Theres lots of those. Did they change the frame?
Damn, the prices out there are going insane! Unfortunately I'm not sure how to shipping worldwide, otherwise I could make kits over 250cc for that
Shipping world wide isn't that hard. Use ebay very straight forward process, then when you learn how to ship you can stop using eBay and ship on your own and collect money too. Ebay charges a percent fee tho 😢
ive misseed yooou!!!!
Can you please test the xr190l sold in south America vs xr150l
5:15 get a Mikuni round slide. It’s a good compromise. The VM26-606 is true and tested
I would get a cheap Chinese spec full exhaust and Chinese spec carby and spend the savings on the big valve head.
FINALLY. After baseball 🙏
New sub, I want to see how far you can take this xr
I definitely agree!! I’m going to put the head from SXParts on mine; already have a big bore kit installed with a 30mm pwk and a BBR cam.
Get the carson brown kit. That kid is hard af on bikes. Also i kno this is unreasonable. But it would be dope if you stroked it
a vm28-418 (tm28) mikuni flatslide would be a great option!
I really like my 30mm PWK setup.
Now you’re talking my language! Time to build it up for competition!!!
Accelerator pump 28mm carb.
Great video. Completely off topic, but i feel like you're the guy to ask. Any idea where i could find affordable replacement (possibly upgraded) shocks for a honda xl175? I assume any offroad dual shock setup would work.
Hagon shock sets are nice, affordable, and better than OEM. They have an xl185 set that might be close enough?
@@TortureTestMagazine thanks for the info. They look pretty solid.
daddy gabriel is back 😩😩
I've been wondering about these kits for the 150L & you're right, each has it's own drawbacks. Does this bike have any Brain
like an ECU can be flashed? There are some electronic type Carbs that some said can work on this bike but IDKnow cH!T?
I have been looking at this little bike, for it's cheap cost! peace
Check the machine work on those cheaper cylinders.
Ive got a pwk36 carb im selling.
I was thinking of taking the air snorkel off and the spark arrester(i dont live in a wildfire zone) and rejetting. Only thing stopping me is that the stock fueling is already so good i dont want to mess it up. If i were to do this what would be the best pilot and main jet measurements so it doesnt run lean or rich. W content btw.
Edit: at about 100 ft of elevation above sea level
38-40 Pilot 115-120 main?
Just go up one jet at a time and start with the pilot. I’ve heard that a 115 main works great at that elevation.
A fast xr150l 😂🤣😂
Is it Christmas already guys what!!!!!
Bro gets a 2002 kx250 , I got one for 1200 and it runs well!!
Now if we could only double the horsepower of
the 230F!
Oh wait…
try black widow exhausts in england ;-)
Engine parts from china aren't that bad. I rebuilt my xr400 with 300 dollars top end kit instead of spendeng 800 to 1000. Rebuilt it 2020 i do long distance and trail ride. No problem for me
Should totally try and source a 4 valve head they do exist
What all would that require to switch over?
Okay but hear me out, just put an xr400 motor in it lol
Those are great, but they can be finicky to start unless they are perfectly dialed in. Losing the Estart on the 150 would kind of suck.
VM26?
Yeah but is this screamer gonna match your DR200 build??
nice
Check what the brasilians are doing, they are crazy around this engine
👍👍👍
SXParts has a 72mm kit in stock, not sure if it’ll fit or not though.
@@DSteel5408 Off the top of my head, I wanna say anything bigger than a 70mm bore won't fit into the crankcase.
@@smileyguyz they told me nothing over 68mm so…🤷🏻♂️
ow yes
it's goi,g to be good
Order parts in thailand or convert the xr head to 4valves.
Lectron carb
PWK!!😂
Pwk 28mm is way to big for this motor. The 28mm is what I run on my 150cc 2 strokes. The bike will be a dog down low.
Check out Delkevic exhaust brand.
I ordered an Istunt to check it out; it comes in a full kit and isn’t very expensive.
we are back
30 mm Nibbi is the setup for 229 cc China beaters, they work good, for the price. Your big bore is close...
Matt from Rolling Wrench tunes small bore engines and recommends 30mm for anything above 195cc until you get to 230cc, then a 32 mm is recommended.
@@DSteel5408 doesn't matter on a low compression 2 valve, pushrod engine. It can't breath that hard.
@@jamesgeorge4874 when I switched from a 28mm to a 30mm it gave me a little bit more top end. Went from 66mph to 68mph on flat.
@@DSteel5408 what bike ?
My XR150l with a 222cc big bore and a BBR cam. I also ported the intake side of the engine to 30mm.
Wpc treatment huh… I knew you were going to endurance race this thing 💀
I’ve been looking into that. Never heard of it until now.
Smart carb 28mm??
Expensive but probably worth having. I’ve never had one but have not heard good things long term. They supposedly are very difficult to clean. What’s your experience with them?
@@DSteel5408 only carb Ill spend money on. I've had one on both my 125 and 250. Never cracked either open and they have taken me on rides with 6k of elevation change without issues. Adjusting is super easy and fueling feels and looks spot on.
Might as well just swap in a lifan 250 motor and call it.
Does anyone make a head?
Hawk twah girl
240cc should be the target with your capabilities.
Does that fit?
8:00 can’t you just get a cheap CRF150 slip on and maybe mod it some
Double digits?
Put a big bore
Rule one for bikes and boats:
upgrade 'til you can't afford it.
Get a Turbo
Why not just buy a complete motor from eBay much cheaper! 200cc or maybe little bigger. That way you still have your factory stock motor. 🤔
Get a bigger bike a lot more power 650
