Beautiful Chevrolet Silverado 5500 medium duty with a dump bed I absolutely love dump beds same for the red color these Chevrolet Silverado medium duty trucks were built in Springfield Ohio in the navistar plant
I have… It’s tricky business because the trucks have a very low GCWR. They are excellent for carrying payload. They make a great dump truck. You’ll hear different opinions on exactly what motor carry enforcement goes by… I’m just telling you from a manufacturers rating… They have a very low combination set up. You can legally tow more with a 3500 Duramax dually.
@@truckguyjoe thanks Joe, as you can probably see I'm not a tech person. I'm about value, mpg, price etc. I built a 3500 WT srw with just about every wt option and came out to $66k with the sharp Alaskan pkg, black wheels and graphics. When I saw some of the pricing on the medium duty not far from 3500 I assumed harder working just wasn't sure about comfort for the family. I did see a 5500 with black wheels and hope that a WT would have a black grill. I would have to do some homework to grasp the payload vs towing and what the best set up would be. Thanks for the fast reply. Sounds like you're in the Buffalo area or just over on the PA side
Hi Patty, at this point dealers are receiving very limited supply of medium duty… I could try to order you a 6500… It all depends on how much allocation we receive. What kind of truck are you looking to build? Are you looking for 2WD or 4WD?
Great video as usual. I wish these mediums had better support at all dealers but that's not the case. Anyhow; LoL My biggest beef with GM right now is $$ and availability.... this "chip" slash C19 slash bullshit excuses that we're getting everywhere.... it's getting old😉
Very nice what's the price line on it
These have gone up in price dramatically in the last couple of years… if I built this truck today it would be approximately $95K

Wow, didn't know the chassis was International. I saw the Navistar sticker and was going to ask but you answered it at the end. Thanks.
Hey Joe have you ever speced out a medium duty truck for 5th wheel rving/ gooseneck trailering hot shot trucking?

@@paulf1177 A 3500 will have a much more comfortable ride and much better fuel economy than a Silverado medium duty… Definitely something to consider.
We are interested in a 6500 having a hard time finding one here in New York

We are

@@truckguyjoe nope we need a 6500 for the load .
Is it set to dump while in drive? Some are programmed to not pto when in gear (for safety)
What is mpg on this truck
About 12 on the interstate. 10 in town. That’s driving the truck empty… Of course towing and hauling it will decrease.
How much can that configuration tow?

She's a beaut Clark. Still can't get use to those headlights. I'm sure it gets the job done. I like the tilt nose for sure.
Headlights are reminiscent of the 2014 Silverado 1500 redesign.
Nice. Be nice to have that here in New Zealand
Where are you located?
Erie, PA
What dealership are you with so we can look up what you have in stock

Nice Chevy 5500 the best 👍
They put the def on other side so people don't get confused with where to put diesel and def. There are folks out here that are color blind.
If only they had an Alaskan Edition 5500. 😉
That’d be awesome 😎

It's got enough room for a 3208 cat!
