What do you guys think about the Isuzu cab over trucks? I’m personally a big fan, no trailers and unlimited customization, sounds like a winning lawn care setup to me!
I need to know how they purchase it for 44k with the landscape body brand new. I tried going to the dealer website and just general market price and nothing comes close to that figure.
Because it makes sense. No trailer no worry about employees hitting stuff. Tight fits. I have 3 box trucks. My trailer never gets used unless it’s a massive landscape job.
I run a Isuzu NPR eco Diesel box truck setup, and a Isuzu Landscape body setup👍used them for 15 yrs now! Rolling billboard, and no unloading on the box truck setup. You get caught in the rain, your equipment stays dry! My Landscape truck, I use it to mulch! Can put 8 yds in it, and put my Kubota 2620 tractor on top of the mulch, that I use to put out the mulch👍they also turn sharp as a car
Using a 2005 (already newest 4HK1 engine) as a donor for my airstream motorhome. Great truck, drove mine from coast to coast (CA to NY) to get it home. Absolutely bulletproof truck!
The company that comes out to cut my small lawn has a crew cab Isuzu NRR box truck with a bobtail ramp fitted to it, their entire crew fits inside and anything not landscaping related is on a roof rack on top of the truck. It's a really cool setup to be honest.
The biggest issue I found for anything that's all-in-one is breakdowns. When the Isuzu breaks down how do you haul the equipment? If you have a truck and trailer setup, and your truck breaks down, you can rent a truck or use a back up truck to pull the trailer and keep moving.
Most landscapers here in Michigan run 3/4 ton trucks and trailers as crew sizes are between 4-6 people. Yes, the Isuzu's have their uses, but I've only ever seen two set up for snow plowing. That and parts are fun to get a hold of for the diesels (the GM 6.0 gas isn't that hard.)
We have had them small trucks here in Ireland for more then 30 year's everyone uses trucks like them here there is so many different types you can get for whatever you are doing.
I've wanted an Isuzu since I first started my lawn biz 18 years ago. I don't do lawns anymore, just trees. Finally got one year before last, 14 foot aluminum dump body. I either tow chipper and fill it with chips or tow lift with it (8k total trailer weight). End of the day it handles Max gcwr 20500 easily. Gas is plenty on these trucks, you don't need the diesel.
@@squarebobspongepants3630 my smallest yard was 45 with no trimming. Average cut on that was 1 hour or less. I had 1 commercial contract that only took 15 mins with push mower for 75.
No brainer for a money maker, good vid big guy! Edit: Izuzu is among the largest truck manufacturers in the world, something I learned from my truck family a long time ago.
Dont know how I havent found you before now but so glad I did you have a ton of useful tips and I used one this morning and it worked. And the people you follow have great knowledge also
Isuzu trucks dominate here in central FL, 52” and 60” stand on. Super efficient and easy to store. The 6.0 is cheap to work on and easy to find parts for, one of the better GM motors. Imagine having a 6.6 Duramax option!😎
Nice vid Brian. I’m actually in the process of changing over to the cab over trucks. I will keep my trailer as a back up. The dealer that sells and repair trailers near me retired. It looks more professional, safer, and convenient. Being a small company I still prefer the crew cab vanscape style. The 22 and 23 models are close to 100 grand crew cab with box. I can’t wait to get mine!!!
Brian I don’t know if you remember my name but ever since I started watching your Channel over a year ago or so I recommended the Isuzu Trucks I started using them years ago over 25 years ago great on fuel and repairs
I’m personally a fan of box trucks. Maneuverable, don’t need to know how to drive with a trailer, don’t need a large garage because you can just leave everything in the back of the truck. The down side is you can’t plow with them so you need separate pickups for that. Two out of three of our mowing crews run box trucks the third mowing crew runs a trailer.
We love our izuzus we have 2 older large ones one with a ramp body and one with a dump and 2 crew cabs with wilrow body's. We fit 2 60" scag vride2, 1 52" scag vride 2 and a hurricane x3. Less tires and brakes and very easy to drive compared to a truck and trailer.
Hey Brian appreciate all your content the time you put into it man great info you're sharing on your channel that's longer guys stick together preciate you have a great afternoon !!!!!!!!

I bought a new Isuzu npr back in 2017. It was a 6.0 gas, crew cab with 14 ft aluminum dump, underbody toolboxes and full length pass through storage at the front of the dump. Amazing truck. Never ever buy the diesel. It could fit 7 guys comfortably.
@@taysliquidators4617 a couple reasons. The diesel is 10-12k more, they only get 1-2 mpg more than gas, and the maintenance is much more expensive. The gas is a very simple, reliable design. It will have the same pulling power because of gear ratios.
Isuzu are the biggest selling light to medium truck sold in australia, for the price of American pickup here you could pickup a 12000 kilogram load variant.
Box van with the “grandma’s attic”-that’s the part that goes over the cab-lol- for your toolbox and a ton of other stuff-like having a garage on wheels everything stays dry, end of the day send a padlock and you’re done👌
I'm actually very curious to see more of these new DIY lifers living in vans and seeing these high roof vans like the Ford transit 250😳 in lawn care...very spacious and makes perfect for residential don't you think ? 🤯🤔
Isuzu trucks are for people who can't pull a trailer personally unless you get a 4 door and have room the single cabs are cramped for more than 2. They are handy though as far as not having to worry about turning a trailer around if you do tight neighborhoods or something
I'm looking at buying a box version but they've gone up a lot in price. Right now I have a large trailer that I've pulled for years but it's difficult to manaveur. I get into some pretty interesting situations with it...
interesting setup but I prefer the traditional truck and trailer setup, you can keep all the equipment on a trailer and use the back of the truck for landscape waste and branches.
They’re great for companies that don’t do snow. You can’t justify the money for one, if you need a pickup for plowing. I would say get a pickup, or a F450 with a flatbed and then get a ramp rack or something along those lines, if you don’t want a crew pulling a trailer. Winter time you can use it to move snow equipment and still have a plow on the truck.
Nah man. You put the shoveling guys in them in the snow. And having ramps means you can put snowrators and other ride on equipment. Its actually much better if you look at in those terms vs using ramps or towing trailers in snow storms.

@Stephen Quintana if you get the 19,500 gvw you should be alright with towinf chipper and having chipper box on the truck it would be cutting it close to being legal tho depending how much the chipper box hold. I'm not sure the weight of chips per yard. I do mainly dirt work so only know the dirt side of things
You don't. They don't sell for that little new anymore. 68k to 73k in S. FL for the crew cab with aluminum dump bed. Still worth the price. We can fit 7 people in them.
This is an older video, but should I get a truck like this because I think it’s cool that I can put mulch on this a skid steer things like that because I want to get into landscape and hardscapes but also mowing I just think it would be to heavy to put a skid steer on a dump trailer I try to do landscaping 2 days a week and mowing the other 4 rn I jsut have a utility trailer and a car but it’s for the future.
