i'm so sorry to hear you've been experiencing hardships. I hope everything goes (or went) well for your wife's birth and that the little one is happy and healthy.
Sorry to see you have to sell some of your collection. You will definitely regret it. I recently went completely broke and have given thought to selling some of my collection as well. I collect for ps1,2,3,4&5 and when i researched into selling some things i realized it's not even close to worth it. In my case, if i keep my ps5 and games my entire collection wouldn't even bring me a months rent. I've spent thousands on my collection and i would be lucky to get a few hundred for my entire collection minus the ps5 stuff. I hope you have better luck or a better collection than i do. I just can't justify selling all those memories and fun for a few hundred bucks. I still regret selling my nes collection when i was young. Make sure you are positive on letting these games and consoles go and that its worth it. I enjoyed the video and wish you the better luck than i have.
i also have a kid, he´s 9 years old now and we play in co op all the time, Street of Rage 4, Shredder's Revenge , Double Dragon Gaiden. Being a father is the best thing in the world, I wish your family all the best
Hey everyone, welcome back to another video! This one is a little more personal, and it’s sort of an update video as well. As always if you enjoyed it, make sure to hit the like button and subscribe! Until next time!
A good way to cover a personal video. It's completely understandable the situation you have. Thanks for telling us even though you didn't need to. Let alone ad rev comes a few views/subs in a way I think depending how far you are to 4K views and 1k subs and then again small rate of money even when starting from that point and 2 months or whatever the case. That and patreon. Otherwise many places around the world also have issues with living costs (living in tents even). It's why I'm not surprised with people not having children or pets it's too hard to maintain. Also won't deny some games if you have it for childhood, videos or repeats (collection games or classic consoles especially, why have the other options and just sell them they are worth more the individual games and console than the collections anyways I assume even if classic consoles are too so collection games are a cheaper option) makes sense to remove some, keep some.
dude i stumbled across your channel this motning, im so sorry to hear about your problems man, keep your head up. the only way to go from here is straight up! cant wait to see your future videos
Glad someone is focused on more important things in life vs the game collecting hobby, salute. In the end of the day it’s all tangible objects that we’re just stewards of for a short time. When you’re back up again with less stress in life, you can always get back into things more. Side note.. I looked at my ds library and realized I own phantom hourglass as well and was trippin lol Aloha
Almost a year ago, most of my portable games were stolen at an airport. When my family and I sat together to start the process of replacing them, I had a long time to think about which games mattered to me the most. Recently, I rummaged through my collection to see which games I needed. For the ones I didn't care about anymore, I sold them away. I will say I was at peace when I finally got another official Game Boy Advance SP along with a copy of a Link to the Past. I may just get the SNES version of the game just because I love it so much. Also, much like you, I adore my Nintendo 64. I wouldn't trade it for all the gold in the world.
It's ironic because my wife asked me what I would just flat out refuse to sell, and I told her the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Gamecube collections are the ones I would keep above everything else. If I had to choose between the N64 or Gamecube, I'd keep the Gamecube just because that's the system I really have a lot of fond memories of from when I was growing up.
True. I prefer not to emulate but stuff like the DS and 3DS games I don’t really have a choice if I want them for footage on the channel. Buying a DS or 3DS with an internal capture card is expensive
As a fellow Nintendo head, yes you're entirely right. It's an art form, a beautiful story telling device. Digitise all your stuff on a couple hard drives. I think it's worth sharing with the next generation. Things just aren't what they used to be in that golden period and they never can be again really
Keep collecting, just keep an eye out for those lots that you can make money on. I've been doing this for years, and although I don't have a super impressive collection, the amount of cool stuff that I now have has paid me to absorb it.
Good vid keep up the content You definitely got that voice man lol it makes you stand out I have been watching your content for awhile now. I sold a lot of my retro games in the past but only kept a few old systems and games but got rid of things that I really miss and want back but the prices shot up to the point it's hard to get those back.
Never sold games in a few years since a few PS2/PSP/PS3 and no OG Xbox anymore, no longer the OG DS cyan with a Mario kart sticker. I collected Gran Turismo 1&2 years ago, and went to 2017+ game collecting as PS4/Xbox One were so boring so I collected other consoles. Selling for money (for your family makes perfectly understandable and as you have a kid) makes sense or interest in the hobby. I don't take emotional moments that far but I'm abnormal.... Gi anna Sisters is I think how you say it. I collect or research for game mechanics because modern games are so boring. I am not against the hobby. I'm glad I have no complications but lucky situations or bad situations of living places but then again awkwardness never getting a job till well later. Some games you used to own well don't spit in your childhood face But then again what food, medical, cars and more can you be wise to manage of course is a challenge. I expanded with tv to anime, pop to electronic music in 2014. Which for me was a hobby mid life crisis kind of thing to expand on what I experienced. Same with game genres I broadened when collecting. I got a Vita/Wii U/3DS/Switch/N64 2017+. .i want a Dreamcast, Xbox and GameCube but good with Wii and 360 for BC or those consoles or emulation instead. Got many games to experience but if I have to many of them are average games so could sell them. The amount of niche shooters aren't maube worth much. Old CODs maybe will maybe won't. Depends. Nintendo games always are. Xbox no one cares for so get them cheap and better graphics too. Otherwise depends on re-releases and nostalgia BS for cost of course. XD
i'm so sorry to hear you've been experiencing hardships. I hope everything goes (or went) well for your wife's birth and that the little one is happy and healthy.
Thank you! The birth went well, and we have a healthy baby!
Thank you for sharing this video with us Throggy. I’ll make sure to keep you and your family in my prayers🙏
Thank you!

The greatest joy is meant to be share with someone else. I wish you a speedy recovery
Little kids, especially toddlers, love Just Dance. Might be worth keeping. Great way to get some energy out when the weather is bad
Games are replaceable, people aren't. Hope everything goes well and works out for you.
Thank you! I appreciate it. I just keep telling myself one day at a time
What a great video Throg. Really shows how good of a guy and family man you are.
Thanks oh wise one

It was just one of those decisions I had to make on my own. It’s sucks, but such is life.

Great vid, glad I caught it within an hour of release
I'm truly sorry about what you went through. I hope things get better for you.
Thank you for your kind words! We're just taking it one day at a time. All we can do at the moment.
Stay strong out there! You can always emulate games at the end of the day, so don't look back! No regrets, better days are on your way :)

@@Throggy Good luck out there brotha!
That's the sad truth sometimes! But I'm happy you get to keep a good portion of your collection.
I did!
Dang man, hope everything gets better for you!
Thank you!
Dang man. I hate all that has happened to you. Hopefully all is well in the upcoming years. And congrats on the kiddo!
Thank you! The kiddo is doing well!

I’ve been thinking about doing that. I’ll keep my eyes peeled!
@@Throggy good luck!
You should start a Patreon! I would gladly invest in your content!
I’m always meh about Patreon. Partially because I don’t have the time to really keep up with it.
It takes a man to step up and sacrifice a passion. Family trumps everything and you’re taking care of them!
It was difficult. But it had to be done. Maybe one day I’ll be able to buy everything I want lol
Good vid keep up the content

Well this video was sadder than I thought it would be.
It be like that sometimes
Sending you good vibes your way!
Thank you!
I just had to do the same, my game cube and n64 collections are gone.
Oh man, I hate to hear that. Especially the Gamecube collection.... I don't know if I could ever part ways with mine.

😭
Bro you are revealing way too much personal information about your life. 😢
Meh. I was pretty surface level honestly. I’ve seen people expose way more here on UA-cam than I did
Yes ,get rid of all the Nintendo trash and keep stuff from other platforms
