Thanks for sharing I grew up on Rice Dressing, my folks were from New Iberia Louisiana, we are still looking for all of Mom's recipes, I took care of them last years of their lives, we had to sell their house after they both passed in 2020 in the middle of COVID so much is still in storage. Thanks shah 👍😎👍

I know I would love this. When it's all said and done, this emds up being very similar to our rice and hash recipe. Much of the same ingredients. We serve rice & hash with BBQ (pulled pork). Loved the silent night sax. Thanks David for sharing that.

Looked great! Love rice dressing. I really liked the jazz version of Silent Night. Do you ever use chicken gizzards in your rice dressing? My daughter and I do like ground up gizzards in it. My wife and son don't. So I usually make it with beef and pork as you did. When I do use gizzards I leave the beef out. Great recipe video!

Kajun Kravings OK the reason. I asked is I have an old recipe in an Old cook book (River Road maybe) that calls for gizzards.

I wanted to try to reach through the screen with a spoon and steal a bite. I love basic dirty rice or rice dressing recipes such as this. It makes for a very nice base for however you want to tailor it to your taste or dietary requirements and restrictions.

His family and friends may not be able to eat that or those ingredients may not be available at the time of the video. Usually when someone deviates from a classic recipe it's either because the ingredient isn't available or someone has a food allergy. IMO because I have a laundry list of allergies, it's the latter.
I love a good southern rice dressing or dirty rice, but I can't eat seafood, poultry or mushrooms because of food allergies. I like seeing a recipe that is as hypoallergenic as possible that's easy to modify to one's taste or dietary requirements or restrictions.
The key with Cajun cooking is flavor. I've done some pretty creative things making things taste just as good with my ingredient substitutions and have experienced some wonderful culinary delights from creative Cajun chefs who respect and understand my allergies.
I can't eat blackened seafood, but blackened pork chops, prime rib or steaks. I want to try blackened bison/buffalo and wagyu. I'm sure it would be wonderful.

@@KajunKravings I like your way, it's basic and simple and makes a wonderful base. You can spice it up however you want and throw whatever else you want into it for a meal or side dish. I like these basic and simple recipes.
