    Sciatica is often classified as pain radiating or going down the leg from the lower back. However, Sciatica like symptoms may also result from irritation of the piriformis muscle, which is known as Piriformis Syndrome.
    Due to piriformis smaller size and greater workload, in relation to the Gluteus Maximus, this causes the piriformis to over exert itself and fatigue,which may result in the Sciatica like symptoms .
    The main feature of Piriformis Syndrome is the origin of pain that is from Buttocks not from lower back.
    If you are having pain in the Buttocks region and may be radiating to the leg, a combination of mobilisation ,stretches and strengthening exercises of thee muscle is helpful to relieve the pain.
