We do actually have word on whether or not etherials can leave the hollows. Billy talks about it at the beginning of the game when Anby mistakes movie for reality and worries that he might be a mimic trying to trick her into taking it out of the hollow - Billy replies that any etherial that tried that would vanish the moment it left. Now, it is early in the story, so maybe in the future we'll meet some unique etherial (or perhaps something like the chapter 2 boss) that can actually escape the hollows and wreak havoc, but I think as a general rule etherials are stuck inside their black hole homes.
Totally missed that, but it makes me curious if an ethereal vanishes when it leaves would we have a situation where characters can assume an ethereal form in hollows and then revert back when they leave. Man that would be pretty interesting to have as a character or even a villain
ther eis clearly a link between hollows and ethereals as not ony do hollows turn people into ethereals, but killing ethereals within a hollow can also make the hollow shrink or even disappear (with large creatures having to be killies within hollow 0 constantly just to prevent it from growing). Considering that link, its not too crazy to think that ethereals indeed cant leave the hollows.
Hollows and their Mysterious presence gives off a more eerie feeling than the move 'A Quiet Place'. Hoyo really likes to paint such a colorful and friendly and fun picture on the surface and then beneath the surface is some deep horrible despair
Thats why I love each of their universes, it all appears so nice and clean but underneath is a scary and dark place. Maybe theres something wrong with me 😂
I think the hollows and Ethereals, are the key entry points for the rest of the hoyoverse. They feel very similar to the Abyss, Fragumentum/Stellaron corrupted and the Honkai. Cant wait to see how this universe links to the others, although it will probably take a long time, since ZZZ seems to be going for more episodic storylines.
Has it ever been mentioned that zzz is connected to other hoyoverse games? Genuinely curious, though ive had my random share of ideas on what the hollows are, one of which is that its an artificially created disaster so that the government can stay in power, they certainly seem to be hiding the truth about it but its just one dumb idea among a thousand swimming in my head 😂
for now fragmantum creatures are not considered as a corrupted humans nor other living being They tak ethe form of the living being as much as I remember
Never played tiberium war though personally I was pretty hooked on generals, for me the first thing that came to mind when i heard hollows was the bleach manga 😂
I wonder why Finite curve didn’t meantion the sacrifice, since he did meantion it at the end, but not with the Marionette sisters, or the dead end butcher, which I wonder why: Technically, it’s a different type of hollow creature, being that it’s abilities are less like the hollows of before, and more technological, choosing to absorb the Construction machines to gain more power, as well as having to be locked in the monument by Koleda’s dad. It could be a AI thing, but personally, I doubt it mostly due to Hoyo, and keeping pretty true to Computer science with all of the AI analogies with fairy and the other keys. Yeah, they are mechanical, but they also feel.. *alive.* which tbh, reminds me a lot of Honkai corruption from HI3, and a mix of stelleron corruption from HSR. If we think about it like that, it’s more like a virus than an AI: something both alive, but also technically mechanical. (Viruses aren’t techinically alive, all they try to do, is replicate, AI, as we currently know it, are just machines mimicking human behavior, which aren’t also alive.) In ZZZ, A.I is more human than irl AI, since for some reason, Fairy is able to crack jokes, and understand herself on a human level, which is odd, since A.I can’t normally do that, sparking an idea that keys, or more specifically fairy, might be partially hollow-base. Tbh, it’s very interesting, and the fact that the duo that put out the keys are the same people that follows Phaethon, and also the same people who lore dumped in the Lore teaser, I feel like their going to be important down the line. They also might know Phaethon’s parents, since from that teaser, I don’t think our Phaethon are the original: I always assumed that Phaethon was starter AFTER, the hollow expansion, especially since Belle and Wise had no reason to start it before hand. This however wouldn’t make sense, since Phaethon’s name as legendary proxies has lasted even before then, and when we first meet them, while yes, they were smart, they wern’t exactly the legendary proxies people like the cunning hares made them out to be. (Even these days, Belle and wise do almost nothing, besides handling the store, while fairy does 90% of all hollow commissions :/) To add on, in the lore trailer, Phaethon is referred to as a “he,” instead of a “them.” When Ghost and yokai were hacking into New eridu’s systems. “Where *he* dared, he fell.” If you knew these two were the main players as Phaethon, why refer to both as “he”? To add on, the map is also different. (Yeah it looks similar to the store, but it’s not the store, nor sixth street.) So if u use that as a comparison, this whole lore trailer can’t be happening in current time, unless the whole street changed geometry in and around that time. While yeah, this all seems kinda loose, what really did lock this in was *Eous not being theirs:* During the Ballet Twin arc, we come back to pick Eous up from the encounter with Victoria housekeeping, during that time, Rina accidentally spills that Eous told her That Our Phaethon wasn’t Their original masters of Eous, and that, “They teamed up on a common goal.” This implies many thing, but with all the other things, implies a timeline: Whoever original Phaethon was, had a connection to Belle and Wise, after he fell, which coincides with around when the old capital fell, Eous teamed up with Our Phaethon to figure out something, with presumably, connects back to Phaethon, and their goals, which is probably their parents. Tbh, we still don’t have enough answers, but I do feel like Our Phaethon, and Eous will have a lot of explaining to do later on, especially with whatever the “Sun chariot” is. But that’s for another discussion. Really looking forward to the lore ZZZ has forward to come!

I believe it was said it is its own universe not connected to the honki viurse
for now fragmantum creatures are not considered as a corrupted humans nor other living being
They tak ethe form of the living being as much as I remember
Also it’s weird that ethereals don’t notice that they are turning
It seems they gradually lose their mental faculties the more into the transformation they are
as a C&C tiberium war player all i can say about hollow is
"Ah shit here we go again"
Never played tiberium war though personally I was pretty hooked on generals, for me the first thing that came to mind when i heard hollows was the bleach manga 😂
i agree with the artificial theory because it would (probably) explain why there is a really big hollow on the moon.
Yea like they failed an experiment on the moon or something

Honest reason why I didnt mention them? I kinda wanted to make their own individual videos and theorize on what the sacrifice is 😂
They look fake, and their blocks and more digital and you can tell if the block real or digital
I kinda wondered that especially when they die it looks like data blocks dissapating
