Hi Ola. Just wondering out loud to myself, and figured I would ask the question here. Will there ever be the option to order a guitar from Solar, with optional upgrades? Specifically Im interested in the Floyd Rose equipped guitars. Like, how hard would it be logistically to have an optional upgrade to a full German made Schaller Floyd vs a Floyd Rose 1000 ? Naturally paying extra for the upgrade? I'm just curious if this could be a thing, or if its to hard. I wonder how many customers would even want the option. I don't know. I'm just a gumby watching your vids, and loving them I might add.
Usually I annoy my family trying to play as many notes as I can. With this pickup, I can drive them insane with just one note. A hole new level of sonic torture. Thanks!
The sustainiac is probably one of the most underrated pieces of guitar technology given what it’s capable of. Especially when paired with a Floyd you can do some really cool things.
I have the sustainiac in my Jackson DK2S, it can sustain low notes making it sustains like a cello. It can beef up the sustain of power chord and palm mutes, creating the illusion of higher gain while retaining all of the articulation. I no longer need to kick on boost pedals or use compressor to add sustain for leads. Wise move ola.
@@bernameloo all of it. The older version has 'intensity' knob, this allow you to fade sustain in or out. The sustainiac is so strong it can be louder than some picked notes, so the intensity knob is great to dail down the power.

I have the sustainiac system in a guitar and it's pretty cool for certain things. Its weird to get used to it at first, wouldn't want it on every guitar but its cool to have on one.
Man, you HAVE TO BE the first guitar company owner to put both Evertune and Sustainiac together in a single serial-produced guitar. I'm buying one if that's ever happening.
@RocketJuan I think very possible because sustainiac is basically just a pickup and evertune is bridge part so they go to different "slots". However sustainiac is much more useful with floyd rose style bridge so probably wouldn't sell well. There isn't really a way to buy one direct unless you find one used somewhere...and even then...it's pretty tricky to wire one of these things. I would just buy a guitar with one already loaded. Sorry if you wanted Ola to answer you directly...just letting you know what I've come to find.
I remember being able to go to their site and them having an install service. I was looking into buying one of these just a year ago and did a ton of research on it. From what I gathered you can only get these in guitars made with it, or buy one directly from Sustainiac themselves. There's also another brand called Fernendes that make a great sustainer as well. Steve Vai uses them so you know they're good lol. Honestly idk alot about the Fernandes models. Might be worth checking into though. Easiest and cheapest option is just buy an ebow. Hopefully this helps a little.
Those are great fun! Even the Fernandes Sustainer although slightly less capable is sweet if used within it's capabilities, and no, it's not "Cheating", just an expansion of the instruments capabilities like most effects.
The better half bought me a lefty Kenny Hickey Schecter baritone for my Birthday last year, and while I never had much interest in baritones OR Sustainiacs...since I got that, I added another baritone and a Kiesel 7 string. Waiting on your 7 string Sustainiac’d V lefty to come to market ;)
I just saw this for the first time two weeks ago when I saw Steve Vai here in Boulder.. I couldn't quite figure it out, but this pickup is a game changer for sure..I'm going to look at Solar guitars right now. Thank you for a great demo. 😎🤘
From memory the sustaniac is a single coil and the “humbucker” is just a housing to allow it to fit in guitars with humbucker cut outs. Unless it’s an updated generation I’m sure the sustaniac pick up is just the single coil neck pick up as well.
Love the playing! Sounds kinda like Joe Satriani with a sustaniac. First time i tried one was on my JS2480MCR and love it! I need more guitars with a sustaniac, perhaps a Schecter next.

What's wrong with Solar guitars?
Some of the Ibanez Axion Label models have those
There isn't really a way to buy one direct unless you find one used somewhere...and even then...it's pretty tricky to wire one of these things.
Hi! This is the first video I've seen on your channel ... what a gorgeous solo at the beginning!!
07:52 bro just casually dropped tristram's theme gotta love this man
30 seconds in, and Im hearing Steve Vai tones! :) Love that candy red finish too
My mind is blown love that pickup and that orange color so sick
This is the best Solar Guitar yet!!!
The intro is a beautiful composition
From memory the sustaniac is a single coil and the “humbucker” is just a housing to allow it to fit in guitars with humbucker cut outs. Unless it’s an updated generation I’m sure the sustaniac pick up is just the single coil neck pick up as well.
Yes it is
@@EvilspeakGaming cool, I’m not losing my mind then. Haha! The reviews of the sound from the pick up itself were decent enough.
I've owned a Jackson DK2S with the Sustainiac for years. I love it.
I have played PRS for years, but I took the leap and pre-ordered your A1.6FRCAR Sustainiac! I am looking forward to the production shipments!!
Beautiful phrasing and voicing of notes ... fantastic.
I love watching you grow as a musician.
Bro! When you were playing the 7 on clean it almost sounds like there’s a piano in the background holding the chords , extremely versatile! Beauty’s!
Almost started playing Tristram's theme song! Damn I guess I never knew I needed a sustaniac.
Very nice melody... ...and this sustainiac pickup of course is a great piece of gear.
I have a Jackson PC-1 with a Sustainer… love it! 👍🏼
Love the playing! Sounds kinda like Joe Satriani with a sustaniac. First time i tried one was on my JS2480MCR and love it! I need more guitars with a sustaniac, perhaps a Schecter next.
Ever since i came across Synyster gates custom s guitar that has a sustainiac bout a couple months ago (which my custom S that i ordered hopefully should be coming in a couple of weeks fingers crossed 🤞 can't wait till that baby arrives) i can't believe it took me this long to realize how ana amazing piece of tech this is, why i haven't i heard this being talked bout more often?!?! It seems freaking amazing and groundbreaking.
Love the tones and your guitar. I need to check Solar guitars out. First time viewing your channel. Imagine Iommie with this pup in the 1970s.
Line it. Neal Schon uses the Sustaniac on most of his solo albums. Amazing stuff check it out for sure. Keep it up Ola you rock
Some of your sweetest playing!
