Thanks for the descriptions. I was also trying to figure out EXACTLY how to put the lid on to get it to work. Realized it's placed in a different spot than the old one. It matches up in the front, not the side.
I became a Raw, Organic Foodist. You know, the people who eat things like ice cream and brownies but they are really salads. Cutting all that produce for daily juice or to fill up my dehydrator trays though, made my hands hurt. I just discovered this food processor. I feel like I was walking 5 miles to a stream to get water and I now have just been introduced to running tap water!!! ERR MY GERRD! This machine is like heaven. Great Video! Thank You!
How about the noise level? How loud it is composed to the 11/14 cup custom pro? Confused between this and custom range. This One offers more features and other one offers performance and quiet.
Although I truly appreciate your explanation and demonstration of how to assemble the various parts, I wish you would have actually used it to shred cheese, vegetables, etc. Thank you though.

The feed tube has THREE options: a small circular tube for carrots and cukes and the like, a medium tube, and the full feed tube. It’s quite versatile!
I’m wondering how well the slicer works. I’m looking for one that slices pretty fine, for example cabbage for coleslaws and potatoes for scalloped potatoes.
Cheryl, the slicer works amazingly well! I’ve done super thin slices of apples, onions, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, and more. The ability to adjust the slicing with the turn of a knob gives you such versatility!
The model I have does not include a dicing blade. However, a quick shows that I believe there to be a separate dicing setup is available for this model.
Great question! The small bowl fits inside of the standard work bowl, and an extender fits over the post to allow a special blade attachment connect to the motor. Then the standard lid goes on top. It’s just that easy!
How well does the locking/adjusting feature work on the slicing blade. I was planning on buying this, but I was wondering if the slicing blade might slip and self adjust while in use.
Alex, I have used the adjustable slicing blade many times and have had no difficulty with it holding its position. It’s an incredibly useful tool for slicing cucumbers, apples, cabbage, you name it! How do you plan on using it?
The slicing blade on our unit does not slice a consistent thickness, and the adjustment knob rotates, so I have to frequently reset it. We have only used it a few times, mostly to slice and grate cheese, but it has never made consistent slices. We also are having problems with the "clutch" slipping, that is, the blade stops but the motor keeps spinning. This unit is not sturdy. Frankly, we wish we still had our old Cuisinart.
Hello Chef Kibby - I am pretty sure your video single-handedly convinced my husband to buy this for me for Christmas, so you should be getting a little affiliate thank you from Canada. I was most interested in your comparison with the previous-gen Cuisinart. My (now old) Cuisinart was a wedding gift from 25 years ago. It works like a charm and in fact must be a slight upgrade or slightly newer than the old Cuisinart you used in your demo, as it has an adjustable slicer (not multiple separate widths) and an insertable smaller bowl and blade for smaller batches. My question - although I am sure I will enjoy my new super-Cuisinart, my only problem with my old one is that the bowl and plastic on the large blade have become brittle over the years from being put in the dishwasher (if only I had known!), so that pieces have flaked off and I am afraid to use it for fear of damaging further (brought out for annual pesto-making fest only). I have had no luck sourcing a replacement bowl - do you have any resources I can try or other thoughts? Thank you.
Thanks for the comment, Alice! Old work bowls can sometimes be hard to find. We’ve lucked out at a few rummage sales, but I don’t have a go-to supplier for such things. If you find one, let me know so I can pass it along!!
It does have some amazing blades! You can search a whole selection of various replacement parts on Cuisinart’s website. We just replaced the work bowl for ours.
Thanks for the review. It sounds like it has all the advantages of a food processor that I have been looking for....really answers to all my needs. the only thing is that it is only 550 Watts. Do you find it powerful enough? Can it process a bunch of dates? My previous f.p. had a wattage of 675, and it couldn't handle it. I didn't find it powerful enough. Thank you
This is going to sound pretty silly. With the two blades which one is the dough blade? Is it the one that sits lower or the one that sits higher? Great video by the way!
Great question! There are in fact THREE sets of spinning blades with this set: a standard blade for the big bowl, a shorter standard blade for the 4-cup insert, and a plastic dough blade that only fits the large bowl. There is no smaller dough blade, but you typically won’t use the smaller bowl for making dough. Does that help?
@@chefkibby Yes and thank you so much! I thought that the shorter blade was also used in the larger container. Silly me! That's what happens when you lose the instruction booklet! Lol
I just baught it with the spiralizer it DOES NOT WORK The breville for twice the money is a much better machine this has a 550 w and the breville is 1200w and does work
Thanks for the feedback! I've never used a Breville appliance, but I can say I've put the Cuisinart through a lot of punishment and it continues to stand the test of time.
I love the goofy singing - it’s just a funny dad making silly, laughable, clean lyrics and helping at least some of us -me anyway! - lighten up and have a nice chuckle. I need reasons for more of those light “chuckle moments.” You’ve got my smile and my vote - keep singin’ Kibby!!! 😄😄😄
why do you keep talking about an old machine that is no longer in production? I am here for the new machine. No one is using or buying the old machine in 2022.
Thanks for your feedback! This video was recorded nearly two years ago, and unfortunately I don’t have the ability to talk about the future when I’m making a video, so I can only speak on what I know at the time. Furthermore, the FP-13 is still available through Cuisinart today; I should know because I just had to order a replacement work bowl just yesterday. I stand by everything I said in this video, and much of the application as far as using it to get kids involved in the kitchen is still relevant and useful no matter what model of food processor you have. I hope this helps!

Keep singin’ Kibby - some of us (at least me!) get a kick out of it and need a good, clean, humble reason to chuckle. Sing, Kibby, sing! 😄😁😆

This is better than Cuisinart’s video! Much more straightforward and useful. I have had this thing for two years and found it overwhelming! Thank you!
I’m so glad to hear this! How do you plan on using this newfound info?

Nothing wrong with the old style Cuisinart. Lots of people still have them.
I just got a Hamilton Beach food processor. Has the post. Works great.
How about the noise level? How loud it is composed to the 11/14 cup custom pro? Confused between this and custom range. This One offers more features and other one offers performance and quiet.
Way better than Cuisinarts video for sure. I do recommend doing a new review video and show it in use! It will result in more views :)
Thank you! Very helpful!

That’s a good question. I suppose it depends on what you’re hoping to accomplish with the equipment.

I do have one question… does it have small and large feeding tube capabilities?

@@chefkibbyyou explained this model well, thank you.
Love this!! Great tips especially in using the food processor!!
Glad it was helpful!
Do you like this one more than the kitchenaid one?

Cheryl, the slicer works amazingly well! I’ve done super thin slices of apples, onions, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, and more. The ability to adjust the slicing with the turn of a knob gives you such versatility!
There is also a dicer attachment.
When i use the small cup for things like chopping nuts or something some of that will fall in the work bowl is there any way to avoid it?
Does this food ptocessor have a dicing blade? Does the dicing work well on hard veggies like sweet potatoes, raw beets? Thank you!
The model I have does not include a dicing blade. However, a quick shows that I believe there to be a separate dicing setup is available for this model.

How do you attach the flat top to the small bowl? Thank you for your explanations but I find the bowls and lids difficult to attach to each other.

@@chefkibby for sure. I'm still in the class. I bought the kit and went through it last night so a lot of the stuff is being covered.
