Not only is it non-sensical, it makes moral monsters out of the people who believe it.
There's a movie I saw some months ago called 'The Zone of Interest', which portrays a few days in the life of Rudolf Höss, the most infamous commandant of Auschwitz. The most memorable thing about this movie is how it portrays Höss and his family as able to enjoy an idyllic country life, undisturbed by the trains and gunshots and screaming coming from the death camp operating literally right next to their house. We're obviously meant to feel disgust with Höss and his wife, disturbed at what their children are being taught to accept as normal, and general horror at the lack of empathy these people display.
But what is the afterlife in Christianity but the premise of that movie exaggerated to an extreme? The Höss family are the believers, enjoying the rewards of believing the right thing while blithely indifferent to the suffering of the vast majority who don't share their beliefs. Non-believers are the endless stream of victims arriving at the camp next door, sentenced to a horrendous fate for reasons that make no sense to anyone but the believers.
I obviously don't want to be a victim in the above scenario, but I find the idea of being like the Höss family...or like fire-and-brimstone Christians, so deadened to empathy that they can envision enjoying paradise while most of humanity suffers the most nightmarish fate imaginable...nearly as horrifying. Nor would I want to share an afterlife with people like that.
I would rather not exist at all than live in a reality where those are my only options.
I think this comparison doesn't work.
Auschwitz:
Nazis made the rules;
Nazis carried out the punishment;
Nazis act like nothing is wrong.
Christianity (according to believers):
God made the rules;
God carried out the punishment;
Believers often justify their missionary work by claiming they save souls (which is also problematic in my opinion)
It works better as a comparison between God and Nazis, which doesn't make it better for Christianity...
@@Eckred Well, _some_ Nazis made the rules. Above all Hitler himself, but also his most immediate subordinates like Himmler. People like Höss didn't make the big decisions; they just did what they were told.
The comparison works best if we're thinking of relationships in the afterlife rather than this world, where people can still theoretically be saved. You can be interested in saving people in this life, but per Christian theology, once that person is dead, any judgement against them is final and any further empathy is wasted on them.
I, along with my older sister, are atheists. I often ask my mom who is a devout believer and thinks she’s going to paradise “how is it going to be paradise for you if your only two children, who you purport to love, aren’t going to be there?”
She’s never given me anything close to an answer.🤦🏼♂️

And in that regard i would say that all humans who other their fellow humans and the list is very long (nearly all nationalists, religous people, wealth hoarders, human exploitators or those benefitting from such exploitation etc) are all in my pov equally immoral.

For a supposedly omniscient deity, they certainly spend a lot of effort correcting its own mistakes.
I am so glad to see this channel again. I always hoped for a video of God being on trial for crimes agaisnt humanity but he just keeps making claims like "theyre my creations, i can do what i want." And thr prosecution just keeps listing all of the horrific things God did and ordered others to do.

Honestly, I don't believe the people who wrote the gospels would have thought that their work would be so heavily scrutinized to the point where humans have to come up with a theology to make sense of it all.
One example I give is Jesus forgiving the paralytic man after looking at the faith of his companions that let him down there. Jesus hasn't even been harmed, and the people and paralytic certainly didn't believe he would forgive him.
If he could have done it for one, and he is god, couldn't he have done it for all?

Jesus is the image of God, but Yahweh says you shall have no other gods.Yahweh is the second beast that was permitted to breath into the image of the first beast.
This video seems to be interpreting the Bible the "evangelicals Christian" way. In reality (as opposed to evangelical nonsense), the biblical story is NOT one of God sacrificing himself to himself. For starters, in the bible the YHWH God character is the father, not Jesus. Also, in the story the only person who sacrifices Jesus is Jesus, not God, and Jesus doesn't sacrifice Jesus to himself (Jesus). Don't get me wrong, the story it's still ridiculous, but this evangelical version of the story is not in the bible.
I always thought the choice was simple. Turn or burn. Matter of fact that was a book written by Charles Spurgeon the prince of preachers

hell (perishing) isnt the result of not worshipping, its the result of a) original sin b) us carrying on that original sin by continuong to sin. worship is to show love and adoration to one higher than themselves. The Christian definition definition is only shared between man and God. If God is love, and the most loving thing to do is to lay down ones life so that another may live, dont you think God would manifest a reality in which that happenns. I have seen your videos and they are very entertaining. You have only strengthenned my faith and I thankyou for that.
So, in order for God to have a reality in which he can save a few, He must sacrifice billions of souls to eternal torment? Doesn't sound like love at all. The more loving thing would be to not create a reality in which souls need to be saved from eternal suffering. He could have created reality in any way he wanted. There are much better ways to manifest love.

So, God is supposed to save us from "original sin?" A state that he created due to the very nature of people (which he supposedly created) and the situation he placed them within? Then he had to correct this by sacrificing himself in a way that didn't really cause him to die? Sounds like an absolute failure of omnipotence and omniscience.
If the videos strengthened your faith, it means you have not really understood them.
Remind me, why did God have to do this loving thing of laying down his life so that others might live? Oh yes, because he himself had decided to punish them for eternity and he would not let go until he killed someone. So he killed his own son, who is somehow actually identical to himself.
Can you just admit that this makes no sense at all?
