Very deep topics. Sociological phenomena don't occur by accident. What we we eat, the things we are socially primed to think and perceive all have consequences. For example, procreation has largely been separated from the act of intercourse, through various means, and there's no going back, especially when there is a bombardment of social priming of how 'liberating' that is. Heck, testosterone levels can rise even through a change of mindset/beliefs. But on the flipside, yes, hormone levels also indeed affect attitude. At the same time, long-held beliefs are not just results of hormones.
All that said though, I personally would say that masculinity should be a natural byproduct of authentic healthy being, for men. A pretense of masculinity is only that, a product of insecurity and immaturity seeking an external identity. That is to say, one cannot 'seek to be masculine'. Rather, one must truly realize that there is no reason to be insecure. The cart doesn't come before the horse. There is nothing more masculine than a secure man, and it's also true that there is nothing more feminine than a secure woman.
Praise God for the happy marriage that you have despite having a background of a broken home.
You're already changing the world, one person at a time, starting with your family!

Female mating cues evolved to be as discerning as possible to ensure the man chosen (Trusted) is of the highest quality mate available.
A female basically has a subconscious checklist to filter out mates.
    1. Does he intensely, and deeply truly desire me = Meaning how attached and incentivized is he to invest and stick with me thick and thin.
    2. Is he competent capable and ambitious = Could he provide and protect me and the offspring.
    3. Is he emotionally attuned and aware = Could he lead me and the family by accurately taking into consideration our needs and wants.
    4. Does he claim me and take responsibility for me, thus providing me with a feeling of belonging.
    5.
