For me it was letting go of the feeling of guilt whenever someone spent their money on me. I’m the daughter of a single mother so I was hyper conscious of every cent that my mother spent on me and what it represented to her economy. I have spent most of my life feeling like an economic load. Also, I’m 22 years old and my generation (Gen Z) has almost killed chivalry and generous masculinity. I used to never have fun when dating people because I was too worried about being “cool” and not “a traditional up-tight girl who expected the guy to pay the check”. Letting go of that was so good for me. I had a hard time finding someone my age who was willing to adapt to this expectations that I have from a man even at this time in history when I, as a woman, am expected to be as worn out by life as any man and therefore, unable to enjoy it. Fortunately, even though stating your limits, desires and needs requieres sacrifice, it payed off and today, my boyfriend understands that femininity and beauty are important to me and supports it. He even feels better about himself when he does something masculine for me. I’m very lucky because this is really scarce within my age range. Before, I was completely unable to receive any kind of gift because I felt unworthy of it or forced to give back something in return. Now I receive with open arms and just give back gratitude. I feel so much better.
I'm completely with you there. Although I grew up with two parents, money was always tight and it was (and sometimes still is) really hard to let go of that guilty feeling when someone pays for me or gives me something. I would always reciprocate. Recently, I've allowed myself to bask a little bit more in the love people are showering on me and it really does feel good to let go of the past and embrace the future. I love your message. And yes, I totally agree that it feels like you're the outlier when it comes to wanting chivalry and to feel taken care of. It feels like our society doesn't reward that notion right now, but I'm so grateful to see others stepping into their femineity and validating the desire of be feminine. My fiancé says it feels amazing to know he's taking care of me and that it's okay for me to let go of my need for control, built up over years of past experiences. Rebuilding the foundation can be difficult, but I would argue the outcome is worth it.
Never pay when with a man !!!!-!!!!!!! Never !!! Men today expect money and sex,,,, cause it's so easy 4 them..... They don't have to be gentelman !-!-- bc f women like you .... ( no offense ) See video. Anna Bey. Title... " why men should always pay "
I remember trying to let go of awkward feelings when embracing femininity in front of family/long term friends, especially transitioning from teenage into womanhood
I recently introduced more colors into my wardrobe, even a few feminine patterned pieces (like flowers and polka dots) and I couldn’t believe how much more feminine I felt! I, too, got very minimal with my wardrobe with lots of grays, blacks, and navy. While I love and appreciate everything that experience taught me, I’m so much happier with having a more colorful wardrobe that let’s be feel girly and cute.
you know weight lifting/strengthening is actually good for your bone strength. as you’re getting older, you will be more prone to osteoporosis which could lead to fractures (the older you get, the more prone you are to falls, thus more prone to fractures. So think about that.
100%. You don't even need to lift excessively. I've heard studies suggesting that lifting 3 times a week might be enough actually help with that. Thank you for posting this!
@@JenniferSmith-do1tw I can respect that. The gym needs to be close to work or my house or I lose motivation. I use to think you needed a lot of equipment to work out but a couple kettle bells and basic hand weights can go far!
I had the same issue with minimizing my wardrobe and making everything match by keeping things neutral. Ugh, so boring. I've added my favorite colors back and am much happier!
To feel more feminine, I am letting go of unhealthy expressions of competition against other women. Loved this video and resonated with so much of what you said, thank you!
Yes I think this is so important! I went to a military boarding school and among the women there was SO much of this. And I have heard that in all girls schools this stuff happens a lot less. Women get like this mainly because they are fighting over the crumbs that men leave for them and we need to stop.
Femininity is an interesting topic for me. I've been aware for a long time now that I have feminine and masculine traits as well (as all of us do). What worked for me is just to embrace them both. Sometimes it's dresses with elaborate sleeves, sometimes it's Oxford shoes with trousers and vests. Sometimes my logical self analyses and breaks down the world around me, and sometimes my intuition takes over and leads me to explore new things. And sometimes I wonder what makes a trait feminine or masculine, and subjectively, I only label things as such (solely for myself, not prescribing it for others) when they make me feel so. So I think as long as one does what makes them feel like themselves, they are on the right track.
I canceled my gym membership too! Such a good suggestion. It also makes me feel so happy to go running in nature, roller skating and I love horseback riding :) Great tips ! It’s so important to help workouts playful 😍
Omg yes all of this !!! Especially about the birth control and embracing your cycle. I worked in womens health (a “feminist” center) and the message we gave women in that environment was so disempowering and anti-feminist. It disgusted me.
I find this so interesting! I was depressed for a long time, and I recently noticed how my colour pallette has changed since I am no longer unhappy. I am no longer hiding my feminity behind a masculinised version of feminity. I LOVE pastels and frilly dresses and I wear them everyday! I enjoy curling in my hair in the morning! I enjoy putting on make up and my need for attention and affection from my partner isn't troublesome or needy. I deserve to be loved! And I drop that when I am starting to feel down. So now that's my first sign, when there is something wrong. At the end you talked about disconnecting from constant consumption and at the beginning of this year I went on a walk everyday 30-60 minutes. I have been wanting to put that back into my routine, because I have felt myself partially slipping back into my masculine. So I will try and bring that back into my daily schedule! When you mentioned Pilates and going to the gym, something clicked for me. I used to do Pilates but swapped it for going to the gym, and before a knee injury I would be hitting the gym 4 to 6 times a week. Always looking at the guys trying to compete with what they could do. I haven't got a gym membership at the moment because of a move, but was thinking about getting a new one. Now I am thinking, I'd rather sign up for Pilates classes. I don't need to compete, I don't need to prove myself through the amount I can push, pull or lift.... I'd rather relax while working out, stretch and align with my body and self. Thank you! I really enjoy and profit from your content! 💕
Birth control pills and devices are powerful treatments against multiple painful conditions that heavily impact women's lives. They can make you feel free, empowered and even more feminine since there's nothing "natural" about doubling up with pain and not being able to lead a "normal" life because there's something off within your reproductive system. Let's not forget we are not all perfectly healthy and some of us still need an extra boost from medications
Well said, and a timely reminder to be centered and confident in my feminine, a difficult thing in this masculine-dominated world. You're so right about too much content putting us too into the masculine and thinking. It's one of the things I'm trying to reduce. This one was worth it. Thank you!💖
Whaaaat?? I love thinking .. new ideas.. all the while my heart isn’t going anywhere. I’m a very feminine woman and I disagree strongly with this sentiment.
When I tried BC pills back in my early twenties, I had such a bad experience that I said I would never take any form of BC ever again. Something about being all natural in that area makes me feel so womanly and definitely keeps me feeling feminine! These videos are really great. Im glad I found your channel! ❤️
I wish I could quit taking it, I have to take it because I get excruciatingly painful cramps where I pass out or throw up in pain. Bc is the only thing that made it stop, but I feel depressed that I have to take it.
....did you really suggest getting rid of your gym membership? 😟 weightlifting and weight training are excellent for your body and your mind. Ladies, please pick up weights. Heavy weights. It prevents osteoporosis and strengthens your joints as you age.
The part of the video about birth control pills is so true! I was on the pill for four years. I was concerned about being a natural woman and the pill suppresses ovulation. What’s more feminine than ovulation? I didn’t realize the subtlety until you explained it. So, thank you!
So many of these resonate with my own femininity journey! I didn’t even realize it until this video but one of the first things I ever started doing that helped me reconnect with my femininity was to decorate my room and make beautiful spaces. I’d rearrange my room every season (sometimes more) and make my space as inviting as possible. Creating beauty in spaces and with your style is so underrated.
I can relate to this! I have a salt lamp, cute string of lights, sunset and sea paintings, plants, a fluffy bed cover and colorful pillows. All the colors are light and warm
I went through the monochromatic capsule wardrobe phase and STILL had nothing to wear. After realizing jewel tones are my favorite and colors I look best in, I brought them into my wardrobe and I’ve never loved it more! I also realized I hate wearing black, grey and white…. So those items are gone. You taught me being feminine means embracing the flow of how you feel. I could never stick with a regimented workout routine and hated myself for it. I thought I was so lazy because of it. Now I do daily walks, sometimes runs if I feel like it, and daily stretching and meditation. I’ve lost 5 lbs in a month using my feelings as a guide rather than a strict schedule. THANK YOU!
You’re videos are so good! My ex used to make me feel guilty about how much I spend on my personal beauty care but it makes me feel so good about myself to be taken care of and to look my best. Spa days are the best therapy 🥰 ps the Brazilian blowout has changed my life highly recommended
I love your approach to femininity! It’s so down to earth and you incorporate so many other values that I share as well (sustainability, caring for the earth, self-confidence and being authentic to ourselves through this feminine journey, etc)💛🤩
YES to getting off birth control. Every man has respected my choice and condoms (or with my serious partner other methods 🙃) do the job. Yes, there’s more needed (lube, etc. testing out different brands) but in my mind it’s WORTH it. Now I love my cycle more and more (yeah, kicking the word “period” to the curb, now even my partner says cycle instead of period haha). Honoring my natural state and tracking them is so easy with apps now. Never had an “oops” in 10 years. I feel so much better
Or you could even go more traditional and not have sex with a man you’re not married to. It’s very feminine to say no until there’s real commitment. Think about it: sex is designed to create life and birth control hasn’t always been around. You’re wired to wait until you have commitment so that you know your kids are provided for. When you have sex, you are physiologically saying that you are ready to have a baby with the other person. If that’s not the case, it’s going to mess up your brain.
This is the best femininity content I have come across! I agree with you on everything, especially the pill/contraceptives. For me the coil was the worst one even though it’s not hormonal. It’s so beautiful to be in touch with your natural cycle and natural hormones
Content consumption. This was me. I was over self improvement and I just wanted to give up. Turns out, that was the perfect thing to do. Because I Am. When the time comes to learn again, I trust I’ll know.
I've always been a masculine energy/character gril. But in the last 6-7 years I've really gotten in touch with my femininity. And even though I reside in my masculine state, embracing certain feminine traits/actions have worked wonders for my overall mental and physical state. I now feel so much more harmony in me and more complete as a person.
Its nice that you notice that about your BC! It really is different for everyone, my experience was the opposite, I had hormonal problems so my natural cycle and hormones were going towards the masculine side so despite me trying so hard to embrace my femininity, i keep failing because of hormones. When I went on the pill, its when I started seeing things in a different perspective, more in a womanly way and it felt good! I'm starting again on my femininity journey and found you. I love your content and it helped bring out so much of what I didn't notice before and I'm always excited to hear more from you. Xoxo
SO different for everyone! That’s why it’s so important to listen to your own body and your own needs. I’m so glad you’re feeling better on the pill and I’m so glad you found me! 😘
The perspective on birth control was pretty interesting. As a man just observing, I think that a lot of women actually resent their bodies because of their natural cycles. It's a rather insidious, subconscious belief to fall into, and it's honestly quite sad. I'm glad that your experience has led you into a different understanding.
I think that’s true…at least I felt that way a little bit! We’re taught that our cycles are a burden from a young age, and they can be incredibly painful if our health is off in some way, but over the years I’ve learned how wonderful they are!
What’s sad is that we exist in cultures that are totally disconnected from femininity and femaleness, so we’ve grown up with very unhelpful messages about how our female bodies and bodily functions are generally perceived. Discussion about female hormones, anatomy, reproduction, menstrual cycles- all of it is either explicitly negative, or else about how to correct/change/hide what is inherently female about our bodies and existence. So there’s no discussion about why we should accept and honor how our bodies work. No discussion about working with our bodies instead of trying to suppress and punish them for being how they are. Furthermore, in terms of the topics covered in this video (how to feel more ‘feminine’), I don’t actually know what I feel real authentic femininity even is. We just don’t get to hear that narrative or that perspective- we’re in a male-dominated society which has historically only produced narratives *about* women, not *from* women.
What I did to work on my femininity: 1. Romanticize daily living 2. STOPPED CURSING!!!! 3. Got rid of blacks, greys and blues (I don’t really like blue) 4. Got rid of jeans (they just made me feel very masculine for some reason). I now have one pleated, high waisted trousers in olive green and one high waisted shorts in the same color made of very soft yet flattering fabric. 5. Introduced floral patterns into my wardrobe. 6. Midi skirts 7. Midi dresses 8. Soft cardigans (no more hoodies and sweat jackets) 9. Feminine thong sandals vs my old Birkenstocks. **1 and 2 were the most effective steps for my journey. It helped me be less negative about my life.
cursing is such a good one. it’s called a curse for a reason. women especially have a very powerful tongue we gotta be careful of the ways we use our language 🌙🤍
I can definitely relate to your point about birth control. I was on it for six years and once I got off I felt like my femininity really awakened and I became a totally different person and I’m so much happier. My depression and anxiety has improved so much. For anyone curious, my husband and I use NFP to plan and avoid pregnancy. Methods like the Creighton method and Marquette method are 99% effective when used properly just like birth control!
Wow ya such a similar story! And yes I wish women were more familiar with more natural forms of birth control - some methods can be super awesome and pretty reliable! We use FAM and a barrier method and it's worked for us! 😊
Getting off birth control and exercising a few days a week was the best thing I ever did for myself. In about 6 months my hormones began to stabilize and I had way more energy, I lost a few pounds, and was sleeping a lot better, and still am!
I thought there was something wrong with me not liking weight lifting 😳 like everyone seems to be into it but I always felt like it wasn't aligning with my energy I'm so happy you shared your thoughts on movement ❤️
Theyve studied it, and women on birth control tend to be attracted to more "feminine" men, probably because they are more on their masculine, and opposites attract. Its so interesting.
I got divorced 3 years ago and recently someone who hadn’t seen me since before I got divorced commented that I dress so much cuter now than I used to. I wasn’t all black and grey before but my clothes were very plain. Solid tops, black pants or plain jeans, barely any dresses, plain ballet flats. Now my clothes are so much more “me”. I never even realized that when I was married I was so unhappy and I was burying my personality to the point where even my clothes weren’t what I liked.
I’m planning on getting rid of my worn out or frumpy clothes- like today. I have a hard time getting rid of clothes until they’re completely ruined because of a limited budget and mindset- but every time I open my drawers I have to dig and dig to find anything I want to wear. I also added bright colors in recently, and am so excited about them!
Thank you so much for this content. I used to love wearing Men’s perfumes because I felt they were less enchanting and lasted longer but ever since I started the journey of recalling back my feminity, I no longer use Men’s perfumes and I love feminine scents so much now. My wardrobe now looks too boring to me as I have few colors in it.
1. include more colours into your wardrobe 2. Get rid of the gym membership, or get rid of sport that you don’t enjoy just to get some results. find a sport that connect you with your body and your intuition 3. get off birth control pill. Read “what is your brain on birth control” for more insight . Get back with your hormone is a game changer 4. Get off guilt for buying things for beauty and wellness. having your nails done, facial, high quality skincare. 5. remove the habit of constantly consuming content. this allows you to have time to connect with yourself. if you constantly hearing or learning something, it gets your brain stuck into a masculine state.
I love lifting and I love how strong and capable my body is after 3 years of just doing it a couple times a week. It's helped me really understand the value of sticking to your goals even if you can only give 5% to them. My husband and I have a home gym and we workout together as a way to connect; he is quite athletic and is basically my personal trainer. I always struggled with getting myself to the gym. I much prefer just incorporating more general physical activity into my lifestyle, like walking the dog or biking around my neighborhood. Hiking, camping, kayaking, yoga, etc. I do what feels good in the moment and the results have been way more effective and long-lasting than when I was trying to make myself to to the gym.
i have also stopped my birth control pill with the New Year, i try to learn my body, celebrate it, respect it, being in a dance with it. Also I am in process of writing a book for girls 12+, how to embrace femininity. It's a beautiful year, I am witnessing so many powerful positive changes, especially in women's lives. I bet you ladies can see it too. Lots of love!
There’s definitely a way to wear darker tones and be feminine. Look at Morticia Addams. Elegantly feminine but still wears all black and darker makeup.
Jillz where do you get your dresses? I am really struggling to get dresses that are above the knee. It's either mini (No!) Or midi (I'm short so sometimes these are too long and look unflattering). I really want more feminine dresses but I really want ones that are a respectful and conservative length and it seems to be that no NO outlets sell knee length dresses anymore but your dresses always seem so pretty but appropriate
Loved this video overall. I'm actually on birth control for health reasons and I find my current birth control actually makes me feel more feminine than other birth control I've tried. It really depends on the person, I guess! :) (I have endometriosis, and my birth control helps ease the pain and bleeding I get from it when I get my period and stuff.) But adding color, moving in a fun way... Those sound like great methods! I'm going to watch more of your content to see how I feel, but so far, I like you a lot!
I feel like the perfect masculine feminine society type would be where everyone practices minimalism and stoicism or either gender practice minimalism or stoicism and the opposite gender practices the opposite one. Honestly, this would work best. Not to mention open relationships until the perfect partner is found the one that were ready to settle down with. With an orphanage set-up, which would allow people who want a kid and dont have the ability to have their own can, go adopt a kid even if only for a weekend
@@rachelsnider1347 I use the "Marquette Method" of Natural Family Planning. There are other methods too, but this one is the easiest and most fool-proof, which is why I prefer it. In a nutshell, I use a fertility monitor to determine which day I ovulate in a given month. I abstain from sex during the five days prior to my earliest "peak" fertility day, and for the 48 hours afterward. The device I use (Clearblue) keeps track of which days of the month were my peak fertility days for the previous six months. Avoiding sex during my fertile window in the month does require self-control, but it has been so good for me (and my husband). We have had to learn to connect in non-sexual ways. We value sex so much more because we can't just have it whenever we want. I have gotten to know my body so well. All good things.
It's weird because, I used to think a lot of these things were just part of my personality but after watching a few of your videos, I'm realizing it's actually that my growth into a woman has been stunted because of my experiences when I was younger! It's like you are describing me to a tee! Thank you x 10000 for this content and opening my eyes to it!
I took the pill once for 3 months in my early twenties, and once in my upper 30's for a year, not related to preventing pregnancy, but for other things, and oh my, I feel much better and more feminine off it. Never again.
I switched from weight lifting which was raising my cortisol levels and causing adrenal fatigue and I switched to pilates and walking, a more feminine hormone balancing way of working out.
A couple of things are opposite for me!! One of them is the gym, but I choose the things I love! We have an amazing yoga program, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, etc. I do also enjoy lifting, but I listen to my body when needed. Another one that’s opposite for me was getting off of birth control. It was extremely hard on my body and made me miserable and I gained a ton of weight. There are some forms of hormonal birth control that also make me miserable, but when I am on the right one, it helps make me feel my best self. I felt so pressured to get off of it, and even felt guilty going back on, but ultimately I decided it’s what’s best for me right now!!
I definitely struggle with the last one. Do you have any tips on how to define content consumption limits for yourself? Do you feel it out and stop for the day when you feel like you usher consumed enough? As always, wonderful video
Thank you! For me, I can feel it in my body - I can start to become a little bit high stung or anxious and I have trouble being more playful and loving lol. I’ve found my own limits now and during certain times of the month I need to limit myself more to go inward ❤️
The birth control pill wasn't good for me and it did the feminine thing to me it got to the point that I didn't feel like a woman and I was depressed too. I came off it too. I am so glad that I did. 😅🎉😅🎉❤️ I love your video thank you.
I took birth control when I was young but I remember it negatively changing my emotions. I just didn’t like how I felt on it,so I stoped, I’m grateful I new myself and did what I thought was right not what “you should do”
I agree totally about consuming information. I realized that I was always tied in to other peoples thoughts and opinions. I’m very intelligent but I feel that social media is “us against them” mentality. When I quit being “ plugged in “through out the day, I was more calm, more at peace, had more objectivity. I now listen to 1-2 you tube videos a day and my phone goes airplane mode before dinner for the rest of the evening. Ahhh😇
This totally speaks to me! I’m starting to revive my bland wardrobe with jewel tones recently. Somehow my wardrobe became boring and androgynous. Also on the gym membership thing… I’m done with my life feeling like a list of lonely isolated chores. I’d rather ride horses with my girl friends, hit a yoga class to be social or take my daughter outside to take walks and play. I kicked the birth control 20 years ago. Grateful to be connected with my body and my hormone health. I think it is great you are talking on this.
Hi I am new to your channel. The best thing I did was get off the mirena. I was on it for almost 10 years and notice it made me more irritable, angry and mean. I also notice I was uncomfortable in my own body I had put 30 lbs on and I did not feel like myself. I was over eating, very moody, and I had constant crying break downs, brain fog alot, and could not keep a sentence going, and my acne was bad it was painful. Within a month I notice a lot of my side effects went away. My brain was more clear, I could focus, I started getting my drive back and notice that I am taking more pride in my skin clearing up.
I'm soooo glad you brought up birth control pills. I'm currently on the implant (will be removing it this week - thank goodness), and I share the exact same sentiments as you in terms of how it changes you as a person. It's been a while since I felt lively, adventurous and ambitious. Instead, I've been feeling the complete opposite. So it'll be interesting to see how things turn out after the removal. Thanks so much for this video Jillz. I truly appreciate it 🙏🏾 🦋💖 🇿🇦
That birth control one!!! Omg, I started thinking it was effecting my personality in the most negative ways. My husband never wanted me on it to begin with, but I got an iud after our second child. It's been 15 years of having it, and when I told doctors I think it may be the problem with my mental health, they laughed. Finally took it out this year, and suddenly I'm thinking of who I was before, how I've become more "masculine" in my approach to everything, going back to feminity, etc. You are so right!!! I'm glad I finally to listened to my husband and removed it.
This was the best video ever…. This was a great one to make. The last point was the most important and really hit home… that makes so much sense… you can’t listen to you’re own inner voice if you are constantly hearing others
You’re so cute! New sub here 👋🏼 It’s refreshing to see other women who are on their journeys. I have found I love running outside Vs the gym. I left my trainer this month and have loved Zumba, yoga and running and it feels good not feeling I HAVE to go workout.
To prevent pregnancy and also sometimes to help with symptoms of hormonal imbalance and painful periods. It is very common, but I think more and more women are realizing they want to connect more to their natural cycle and that there are other ways to prevent pregnancy!
I take it for extremely painful periods. I pass out and throw up when I’m on my period because it’s so much pain for me. Birth control stopped those symptoms for me however I really wish I didn’t have to take it
*Things l got rid of to help me feel more femenine* 1 l bought coloulful clothes 2 l don't like the gym 3 I stopped taking birth control pills that make you lose touch with bodily functions 4 l stopped feeling guilty for using my own money 5 l stopped living in the real world GREAT LIST KEEP IT UP👍
the last one!! i never knew how to explain to others why i don't have any social media besides yt but now i get it, it makes me consume, see and compare my life less. i feel everything much more and i'm in my "essence" when i'm focusing on my life only. things are more meaningful to me. ahh thank uu! 💝
I try to get on the pinterest and insta trend of taupe, beige and all neutrals. But bright colors like red, yellow and green creep into my closet and just dominate my life. Like it this way. 😀
I can definitely agree there's too much consumption of mission of media. However I would argue it's not just women who could benefit from cutting back on media consumption.Sometimes in life we just need downtime to just exist in our being and be content with what we have. Hopefully we reach a point in life people as a whole value contentment.
I just feel so good just just hearing you speak. So calming and in touch with the feminine energy. Your videos have helped me achieve peace and flow in my life and also to take some important decisions 😊❤
I love all of these tips! I agree about the birth control. I would definitely suggest women reading the book you recommended if they are currently on birth control. I didn't realize until my mid 30s just how much our hormones affect our bodies.
I love this video. Thank you. I've been getting rid of almost all my black and gray clothing from the last couple years and replacing with pinks and other pretty colors. Feeling so much more myself in these pretty colors. Subscribed.
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, So that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil All the days of her life.” Proverbs 31:10-12 KJV
Jillz! I can totally relate to the having a dull toned wardrobe! I was the same way, but I never thought that adding even more brightness could tap me deeper into my feminine. I’m so excited to get some brighter colored threads! Also, I love the tip on beauty care - facials here I come! ❤️
Getting off birth control is a plus, makes you more melo and softer. I second that!!!!!!!! As we get older we learn to enjoy a period and being a woman as God created us to be.
This was a very interesting video. For me doing my makeup everyday and curating my appearance makes me feel good. But I try to do as much myself because I feel beauty is so disposable. Nails grow out for example so I do gel at home. Where I don't know how to feel is when it comes to I suppose embracing "femininity" in actions. I kinda get very defensive to be considered a frilly girl and I have a very can do mentality. Like no I got this. I think this comes from not being raised around any men whatsoever I never saw a need for a mans help. Rn I am engaged and my fiance makes more money than me and I get hyperfixated on I need to expand my career so I'm in a class and I always feel I'm not doing enough which stresses me out. He's a software engineer and I'm a graphic designer.... we're in different fields I can't compare but I try sooo hard to do 50/50 but he always tries to tell me we're a team. But also it comes from my need for success cause I was very depressed and not doing much for a time so I'm trying to catch up and well I grew up living in a hood area and I just wanna say I made it out if the hood. I was raised by my single mother and I'm not a statistic but I think I've already done that but it never feels like enough. Overall, I am a work in progress 🤣 I want to eventually just be me and let a go of certain things but as I get older not gonna lie I get so pissed at stereotypes. So on another note I'm trying to embrace who I am and not let others tell me who I am lol
1. Lack of color
2. Gym membership
3. Birth control pills
4. Guilt around paying for things related to beauty and wellness
5. Habit of constantly consuming content

Thank you! So glad to have you here!! 💖
Thank you !!!!!
Yes

I feel so much better.
Be yourself and stand up for what you feel is right in your heart
@@christyj6108 love your comment, thank you for sharing
Girl, I want to be friends w youuuuu
Never pay when with a man !!!!-!!!!!!! Never !!! Men today expect money and sex,,,, cause it's so easy 4 them..... They don't have to be gentelman !-!-- bc f women like you .... ( no offense ) See video. Anna Bey. Title... " why men should always pay "
I remember trying to let go of awkward feelings when embracing femininity in front of family/long term friends, especially transitioning from teenage into womanhood
Totally relate to this!
Right!? It can make you feel so good and vibrant! ✨
I have a pair of bright red flats, and this inspired me to wear them tomorrow!
@@anissaferringer4965 Oh that’s so fun! I hope you feel great in them! ❤️🥿
Oh! Don't get me started. Lace, velvet, textures. Whimsical. Sooo thankful to be a woman.
you know weight lifting/strengthening is actually good for your bone strength. as you’re getting older, you will be more prone to osteoporosis which could lead to fractures (the older you get, the more prone you are to falls, thus more prone to fractures. So think about that.
100%. You don't even need to lift excessively. I've heard studies suggesting that lifting 3 times a week might be enough actually help with that. Thank you for posting this!
Lift the laundry.
@@JenniferSmith-do1tw I can respect that. The gym needs to be close to work or my house or I lose motivation. I use to think you needed a lot of equipment to work out but a couple kettle bells and basic hand weights can go far!
So is yoga 😉
You can also lift your own body weight in yoga or pilates.. just as effective and better for your menstrual cycle as well
I had the same issue with minimizing my wardrobe and making everything match by keeping things neutral. Ugh, so boring. I've added my favorite colors back and am much happier!
Yess so much more fun!! 🙌
It’s so hard to be feminine in a world where we are told being feminine isn’t ok. Thank you for sharing this!!!!!
You’re so welcome! ❤️

To feel more feminine, I am letting go of unhealthy expressions of competition against other women. Loved this video and resonated with so much of what you said, thank you!
Don't listen to this woman. You'll end up fat and flabby. Lift weights, she has no clue wrf she's talking about.
Yes I think this is so important! I went to a military boarding school and among the women there was SO much of this. And I have heard that in all girls schools this stuff happens a lot less. Women get like this mainly because they are fighting over the crumbs that men leave for them and we need to stop.
hey, could you do a video on how to be a playful and juicy woman!! I'm trying to connect more with my inner playfulness and u could help
I'll write this idea down...thank you!! 🥰
Totally.. being feminine doesn't have to be mutually exclusive with success and getting shit done.
I canceled my gym membership too! Such a good suggestion. It also makes me feel so happy to go running in nature, roller skating and I love horseback riding :) Great tips ! It’s so important to help workouts playful 😍
So funny I’ve been wanting to buy roller skates lately! Lol
@@JillzGuerin you should! They’re so fun 🤩
Yeah I like movement and dance!
I'm so glad this video resonated with you!! I'm glad I could help spark some insights for you ❤️❤️
Birth control pills and devices are powerful treatments against multiple painful conditions that heavily impact women's lives.
Thank you!💖
Glad you enjoyed it!! It’s so important to get back into our bodies and our hearts 💜
Same with me - it feels so much better! I'm so glad you're here ❤️❤️
I wish I could quit taking it, I have to take it because I get excruciatingly painful cramps where I pass out or throw up in pain. Bc is the only thing that made it stop, but I feel depressed that I have to take it.
Have you tried iron supplements? That helped me a lot but yours could be due to other things. Good luck :)
hi, so how do you and your partner control having child if not using bc pills? i would be glad if you helped
@@cornpoppy9402 I'd like to know this as well.
....did you really suggest getting rid of your gym membership? 😟 weightlifting and weight training are excellent for your body and your mind. Ladies, please pick up weights. Heavy weights. It prevents osteoporosis and strengthens your joints as you age.
Love the last part about consuming content. You’re so right. It takes away from your own feelings and has you second guessing yourself
Yep!! 💕💕
The part of the video about birth control pills is so true! I was on the pill for four years. I was concerned about being a natural woman and the pill suppresses ovulation. What’s more feminine than ovulation? I didn’t realize the subtlety until you explained it. So, thank you!
Yes I feel like ovulation is the key part! I'm glad that it resonated with you ❤️❤️
"What is more Feminine than ovulation?" That is wonderful, thank you
You are so beautiful MashaAllah God bless you. Being femming needs to be pretty and am fat and that makes me insecure 😭
Birth control also lets women pick the man they’d never pick.. appreciate you sharing your story. I got off them a long time ago.
Totally underrated...creating beauty in our everyday life is one of our feminine strengths 💖
THANK YOU!
Ahh I'm so happy for you!! Our bodies are so smart and intuitive 🥰
Aw thank you!! 💜💜
Definitely worth it! I’ve never had a scare either!
@@purelightapologetics4930💯👏👏👏👏
This is the best femininity content I have come across! I agree with you on everything, especially the pill/contraceptives. For me the coil was the worst one even though it’s not hormonal. It’s so beautiful to be in touch with your natural cycle and natural hormones
Ah thank you! And yes it's such a beautiful thing ❤️
Content consumption. This was me. I was over self improvement and I just wanted to give up. Turns out, that was the perfect thing to do. Because I Am. When the time comes to learn again, I trust I’ll know.
Sometimes it's so important to take breaks and connect with yourself as you are right now ❤️
I've always been a masculine energy/character gril.
We’re taught that our cycles are a burden from a young age, and they can be incredibly painful if our health is off in some way, but over the years I’ve learned how wonderful they are!
i mean it doesnt exactly help that men make us feel disgusting for having periods.
You wouldn't find it sad if you went on the rag once a month for 40 years of your life lol. You'd resent it and want to get rid of it too.
What I did to work on my femininity:
1. Romanticize daily living
2. STOPPED CURSING!!!!
3. Got rid of blacks, greys and blues (I don’t really like blue)
4. Got rid of jeans (they just made me feel very masculine for some reason). I now have one pleated, high waisted trousers in olive green and one high waisted shorts in the same color made of very soft yet flattering fabric.
5. Introduced floral patterns into my wardrobe.
6. Midi skirts
7. Midi dresses
8. Soft cardigans (no more hoodies and sweat jackets)
9. Feminine thong sandals vs my old Birkenstocks.
**1 and 2 were the most effective steps for my journey. It helped me be less negative about my life.
The romanticize daily living point is KEY 🙌🙌
cursing is such a good one. it’s called a curse for a reason. women especially have a very powerful tongue we gotta be careful of the ways we use our language 🌙🤍
@@JillzGuerin This sounds very interesting, can you maybe make a video about it?
Getting off birth control and exercising a few days a week was the best thing I ever did for myself. In about 6 months my hormones began to stabilize and I had way more energy, I lost a few pounds, and was sleeping a lot better, and still am!
Wow love that!!! 💕
Good sleep with a dream or 2 is so important. Probably Top Tier. It regenerates you
I did these two things too! Feeling amazing but have hair loss from quitting birth control
Fasting from information is something my intuition has been telling me to do. So glad to have that confirmed.
I thought there was something wrong with me not liking weight lifting 😳 like everyone seems to be into it but I always felt like it wasn't aligning with my energy

Adding more color into my wardrobe has definitely helped me get in touch with my femininity.
#2 really shocked me. I mean, it really made me question if I am moving my body in a way that actually resonates with me.
i got rid of all my jeans i only wear dresses and skirt now. i feel more feminine
Thank you!! You have taught me so much in a non condescending way. I truly feel taken care of with your advice ❤️
Theyve studied it, and women on birth control tend to be attracted to more "feminine" men, probably because they are more on their masculine, and opposites attract. Its so interesting.
I love belly dancing.
I love how confident you are in front of the camera!! I’ve just started my channel and I’m trying to improve on my speaking and editing🥺
Thank you! It still feels a little weird just talking to a lens in front of me, but it gets easier over time for sure! Keep going 💖💖
It feels so good to clean out your closet and add a few new things you're excited about! ❤️
I teach bellydance every day on zoom 🥰🥰🥰
Love that!! 🙌
I really liked the insight you made between the pill and masculinity
1. include more colours into your wardrobe
2. Get rid of the gym membership, or get rid of sport that you don’t enjoy just to get some results. find a sport that connect you with your body and your intuition
3. get off birth control pill. Read “what is your brain on birth control” for more insight . Get back with your hormone is a game changer
4. Get off guilt for buying things for beauty and wellness. having your nails done, facial, high quality skincare.
5. remove the habit of constantly consuming content. this allows you to have time to connect with yourself. if you constantly hearing or learning something, it gets your brain stuck into a masculine state.
This might be out of topic but...I love your style! Could you please make a video about where you shop for feminine clothing? :)
Thank you!! When I start doing some occasional vlogs I'll talk about this!! Stay tuned 😊😊
I love my gym membership for the amazing yoga and Zumba classes. And for the stream and sauna relaxation.
:) (I have endometriosis, and my birth control helps ease the pain and bleeding I get from it when I get my period and stuff.)
But adding color, moving in a fun way... Those sound like great methods! I'm going to watch more of your content to see how I feel, but so far, I like you a lot!
Aw thank you!!! And regarding the birth control, I think it's so important to just do what feels good to you. Your body knows best 💖
I'm letting go of self improvement content made by men lool, advice from men lowkey doesn't apply half the time :,)
Getting off of birth control (the pill, then IUD) and switching to Natural Family Planning was a game changer for me. I highly recommend it!
What is natural family planning
I think we all would prefer no synthetic hormones, but what about contraception? The options are not that great outside of this. Can people share pls.
I also stopped taking pills after reading that book. After getting off the pill, I felt happier.
I took the pill once for 3 months in my early twenties, and once in my upper 30's for a year, not related to preventing pregnancy, but for other things, and oh my, I feel much better and more feminine off it. Never again.
Yes! Just embracing my natural cycle and my own body has done wonders...and my natural hormones are what makes me feel fun and spicy! ✨
Women, you are FLOWERS. EMBRACE THE FLOWER
I love your chanel! You exude feminine energy. Thank you so much for sharing all these tips. Can't wait to watch the rest of your videos :)
Aw thank you!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I truly appreciate it 🙏🏾 🦋💖 🇿🇦
Oh that's so exciting...I hope it helps you get your spunk back! It definitely helped me and many others that I know 💖💖
That birth control one!!!
Ive been the most fit when i was horseback riding
This was the best video ever…. This was a great one to make. The last point was the most important and really hit home… that makes so much sense… you can’t listen to you’re own inner voice if you are constantly hearing others
Glad it was so helpful 💕💕💕
You’re so cute!

It’s refreshing to see other women who are on their journeys.
I have found I love running outside Vs the gym.
I left my trainer this month and have loved Zumba, yoga and running and it feels good not feeling I HAVE to go workout.
ah thank you! so glad you found me!! And yes it's so freeing when a workout actually feels fun + enjoyable as opposed to a chore 😊
A quick question, why are so many women on BC pills in the US, is it just to prevent pregnancy? It is not common at all in my home country.
To prevent pregnancy and also sometimes to help with symptoms of hormonal imbalance and painful periods. It is very common, but I think more and more women are realizing they want to connect more to their natural cycle and that there are other ways to prevent pregnancy!
@@JillzGuerin Thank you for responding and the information! I love your content!!!
I take it for extremely painful periods. I pass out and throw up when I’m on my period because it’s so much pain for me. Birth control stopped those symptoms for me however I really wish I didn’t have to take it
*Things l got rid of to help me feel more femenine*
1 l bought coloulful clothes
2 l don't like the gym
3 I stopped taking birth control pills that make you lose touch with bodily functions
4 l stopped feeling guilty for using my own money
5 l stopped living in the real world
GREAT LIST KEEP IT UP👍
the last one!! i never knew how to explain to others why i don't have any social media besides yt but now i get it, it makes me consume, see and compare my life less. i feel everything much more and i'm in my "essence" when i'm focusing on my life only. things are more meaningful to me. ahh thank uu! 💝
Ahh “in my essence” is such a great way to describe it!! So glad you liked the video 💕
I try to get on the pinterest and insta trend of taupe, beige and all neutrals. But bright colors like red, yellow and green creep into my closet and just dominate my life. Like it this way. 😀
Lol same! Feels more natural to me 😊
I love your video. It resonates wirh me a lot.
Firt time here and subscribed. Much love from Brazil 🇧🇷
Welcome!! 💖
This is such a wholesome and healing video, thank you for sharing
Aw you’re welcome! ❤️❤️
I love this video. Thank you. I've been getting rid of almost all my black and gray clothing from the last couple years and replacing with pinks and other pretty colors. Feeling so much more myself in these pretty colors. Subscribed.
Yesss color can be so fun and life giving!! Glad you enjoyed the video 🥰🥰
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, So that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil All the days of her life.”
Proverbs 31:10-12 KJV
Thanks Jill! I just bought that book now and can’t wait to read it!
I never loved working out more until I started barre
A big one for me is maintaining my hair dye. If I let it fade or roots grow out it takes a toll on my self esteem
This is part of the reason I went back to my natural hair color! 😂
Ugh, my hair grows so quickly that my roots are only good for a few weeks.
Jillz! I can totally relate to the having a dull toned wardrobe! I was the same way, but I never thought that adding even more brightness could tap me deeper into my feminine. I’m so excited to get some brighter colored threads! Also, I love the tip on beauty care - facials here I come! ❤️
Yess the wardrobe tip is so little but so powerful! 🙌
Getting off birth control is a plus, makes you more melo and softer. I second that!!!!!!!! As we get older we learn to enjoy a period and being a woman as God created us to be.
I took bc for 10 yrs and have been off them for almost 7. I don't think I will ever go back on them. They destroyed my digestion.
The last concept is really great. Will try to put it on practice.
The gym is my joy, it's not force for me 💃💃😘
Love that! 💖
