The Rams Interior looks more Denali than the Denali.
The Ram looks like a monthly dealer visit when the interior electrical system starts failing bit by bit.
hochhaul and the Denali will be in the shop in three months
My brother Denali needed a new transmission after a summer trip to the outer banks where he used 4-lo
@@midlanticfishing5405 what year is his Denali?
2019
Yep looked at both today and pulled the trigger on ram limited. GMC was nice truck but once I drove the limited I was sold on a ram.
What color did you get? The Ram limited is what I would have purchased too! I like the Ford Limited, but it's $80,000.00!!!!
You forgot the biggest news in the truck world, the reclining back seat of the Ram.
SkyKnight209, I hardly think the biggest news in the truck world is a reclining back seat. lol
I agree...my 08 Tundra CrewMax has reclining back seats so what's the big deal.
@@toddwood1150 Well they stopped making them so now it's class exclusive.
Lol Tundra was doing that years ago
@@TBO76 class exclusive bit not biggest/newest
Give me the SIERRA DENALI Ultimate 6.2L with the RAM's interior.
That’s what I’m saying... I guess they have to split the $ and Ram chooses interior where GMC chooses exterior
Until the trans in the GM breaks

Manufactures overprice trucks and then discount them big time to make you think your getting a great deal when realistically the discounted price is what the MSRP should be in the first place. These trucks are great but we're conditioned into thinking there worth more than they are
My mom paid 75K for her home in Clark NJ in 1984.These trucks are surpassing that, yes you have to factor in inflation but her home worth nearly 10 times the amount she paid and these trucks will be worth half in their 3rd year.
Trick is get a better discount than they are willing to offer.
🤔🤔 I've never thought of it that way!
also this allows them more room to adjust the price according to what the competition is selling theres for
You also need to factor in the sheer amount of tech goodies that they are cramming into their higher trim levels in attempts to one-up each other compared to what was available 5, 10, even 15 years ago.
Surround view camera systems.
Huge infotainment screens with voice recognition.
Adaptive cruise.
Lane-keeping/departure warning.
Parking assist.
Heated and vented seats.
More speaker locations than most commercial movie theaters.
110V outlets with inverters.
Etc, etc, etc.
Long gone are the days when the "premium" radio was an upgrade from the slide indicator to a simple LCD numeric display for the frequency that was changed by the same big dial, and tiny sliders or dials for individual bass and treble adjustment.
If the ram interior was in the gmc with that sweet 6.2 LS you would have best selling truck 4 sure
If they put the 6.4 hemi in the ram it would put the 6.2 LS to shame you want to talk about power get a HEMI and you will need more than good interior to get the gmc to be the best selling truck and the 2019 ram already holds that title
@@crazyblue24v40 wow not a single thing you just said is accurate congratulations
cinder 99 Agree! A Ram interior would put the Denali in a league of its own. But I would tone down the chrome on the outside too! Just prefer an understated look
@@crazyblue24v40 Ram hasn't been a best selling truck ever. Ford and GM outsell them by hundreds of thousands of trucks every single year.
hochhaul they shouldn’t though, that’s the problem
I’m a GMC guy but the Ram is really nice when it came to luxury interior
I chose the GMC Sierra DENALI ULTIMATE truck with the 6.2. Overall, it’s much more fun, still has enough options to keep me happy and overall the winner for our family.
To me a fully loaded truck has a locking rear axle and down hill assist and so much more. My 2019 ram 1500 longhorn is freaking insane!! Love it, it's fully loaded and is ivory triple pearl, I got it used with 4,446 miles on it for $48,275 The dude that originally bought the truck couldn't afford the $1,100 payment per month and his wife was pissed at him for getting it because she knew they couldn't afford it, so theyhad to take it back. Sad story, but their loss is my gain.
This is the best comparison review I’ve ever seen. This guy knows how to review trucks.
Personally, after testing driving the Ram limited today, I was blown away. I do wish it had the Sierra tailgate though.
Well done on a tremendous review.
I did not enjoy your videos before. But you're doing better and better. I now like how you are straight forward and you actually make good comparisons. Will watch more of your videos in the future
That GMC does not deserve the denali name plate.
Why because it doesn’t have a fancy screen on the inside 😂
I have always been a GMC guy, I just bought me a 2020 Laramie EcoDiesel. The Denali is the best looking truck on the outside, but the interior for the price not worth it.
Man iI love your videos on this channel! you always do such a good job! all the details that people care about, but no filler content either. Just the perfect mix. Keep up the good work man!
That was an excellent and really informative review. Great work!
One big thing on these two that I noticed when owning both, is visibility. It’s tough to see over that massive hood on the GMC, while it’s easy to see out of the Ram.
“Don’t know who would go off road with a Denali but whatever.” Lol
Both are excellent trucks. I love the styling on the GMC a little better. Plus, that tailgate/bed setup is the bomb!
Both trucks are trash! Garbage motors and chrysler ram
@@louisbarningham what is wrong with you? Oh yea you can’t appreciate a good luxury truck
Yeah but you really would rather take that interior
@@louisbarningham ford boy mad he riding around in a V6 and cheap quality
Can we all agree trucks are way way way overpriced?
Tadicuslegion78 ummm...no
I would say SUVs are more overpriced than trucks.
They're also way, way, way better than trucks of the past. Good news, you can still buy a basic truck (which is still way better than you dad's pickup) if the top-of-the-line is more truck than you need.
I'd argue the Ram 1500 Limited is underpriced. The interior matches the quality and beauty of a Range Rover/X7 interior, while also providing all the luxury and tech features, an extremely comfortable ride, and the towing/hauling abilities of a truck. To spec a Range Rover to have the same features as a loaded 1500 Limited, you'd have to spend $110,000. A $70k truck is expensive for sure, but you definitely get what you pay for (and more) in the Ram.
Definitely not overpriced
Great video! It's just what I was looking for. Thank you!
He is exactly right about the interior i work for both companies the ram interior is no comparison to the Denali. The regular Laramie is equal to the Denali. The limited and the longhorn are classes above the Denali. So many more features in those trucks than a Denali. I agree with him the Ram has way more luxury.
Forgot to mention that the rear seats recline in the Ram. I sold my 16 GMC to buy a 19 Ram. The Ram blows the GMC away.
At this point there’s no comparison to the RAM. Bar has been moved really high.
Kacper B I beg to differ. Sitting side-by-side, that Denali makes the RAM look like a little boy. GM definitely has the best exterior designs by far!
6.2L with a 10 speeds makes the hemi a slug
zimks I'll give you that!
Coming from a 1996 Chevy CK 1500 truck series owner, the Ram 1500 Limited Trim level truck is the best looking truck in terms of the interior (12" Infotainment System). The Sierra Denali has a unique look because of the amount of chrome implemented on the exterior. Needless to say, the interior looks monotonous because it lacks a creative and quality look. I still give credit to GM for giving their customers at least more legroom inside the cab. Two years from now, I will obtain one of these luxuries trucks after graduating from college. Time will tell if i choose either the Denali (Diehard GM Truck Owner) or Ram 1500 Limited (Stepping outside the box for the looks).
I bough the 2019 Laramie Longhorn long bed a year ago, the truck sticker price was 58K, dealer pulled off 4k on the jump, and gave me 24k +, for my 14 Laramie. This truck after 12k driving is by far the best I ever owned or driven, and everyone that has rode in it front to back cannot believe the ride it gives, not to mention the amenities. So the price quoted in this vid , is really not the real world deal to be had on the Ram.
Over all a good review, you did forget about the rear view mirror camera!
Great review! Honest and well thought out.
Ordered my GMC Sierra Denali 2 weeks ago for March 2021 delivery. My kind of truck.
Forgot the mirror that is also a camera
He never watched birdbox
Forgot the backseat that also reclines.
My opinion Ram all around better truck now. Not really even close. Drove both, ram's air suspension drives nicer than my old s class.
Complete honestly, this has to be the best truck review for it category. Great job.
dude thank you i been waiting for this video for a long time now
I'm hoping that GM learns a valuable lesson when they come out with their new Tahoe/Yukon. Interiors matter.
Actually, the reason why they didnt change it is because people liked it the way it is. They made minor changes that made all the difference
@@andybub45 until they see the Ram that is. No one can say the interior is fine after seeing the Rams. GM needs to fire their focus groups because their products are getting horrid
You've seen the 2020 interior?
Gm is trash!
The GMC is the better truck overall but the Ram interior is amazing. I have a Silverado LT Z71 with nice upgrades and love the interior, sadly the Denali is not much nicer.
Silver bearded Irish I agree. I was a ford guy all my life. Until I found a custom Sierra 1500. I got a really good deal. Now from pictures the gmc interior seemed plain. It’s an slt plus so right under a Denali. The fords are very nice with lots of luxury. But when I got into the gmc I was blown away at the fit and finish. Much better materials. No creaks and rattles. Everything in the Ford was plastic. Door panels, dash, center counsel, and I was looking at a lariat. I feel gm is lacking some of the high end flashy gadgets. But the fit and finish is far superior
This guy is great I love watching his reviews!! Keep it up!!
Excellent review. Thanks!
Really wish I could have the GMC exterior with the Ram interior.
I’ll stick with my 2010 crew cab Dodge Ram 3500 ST with the Cummins. Base model is the way to go. Vinyl is easy to clean and yes having all those nice bells and whistles is cool. But that’s just more stuff that can break.
and generally you can customize a base model with after market mods to get much closer to what you want later on.
Michael larrick I have a ‘18 Laramie it’s a beautiful truck but honestly the infotainment gets on my nerves it takes longer to do simple tasks especially when driving and trying to keep your eyes on the road I miss the simple design of the older trucks
True
Y’all are crazy as shit. Take your ram back and get a 2019 tundra. Who the hell doesn’t want tech in a truck. 2010 has plenty of tech and you chose a base ? VINYL ? Hell no. Does it have a backup camera ? Touch screen?
Pentastar Nate having a touch screen or a back up camera doesn’t have any affect on the performance of a truck. Keep your 2019 tundra. I’ll keep my 3500 Cummins and out tow your tundra 3 times over.
Thank you for this comparison. I'm stuck between the 2 for sure!
The 6.6 on the Denali with the exterior styling and bed features of the GMC combined with the Ram interior is the best truck ever.
Ram truck interiors are in a class of their own at this time. No contest Ram wins.
The GMC headlight is very much like the F-150 .....love the Dodge look for sure~!
Nice review! You should do audio sound system comparisons as well.
Great review!!
Better transmission, better engine great deal for me with the GMC.You can keep your beautiful interior which will be outdated in a couple of years while the better engine, transmission and engine of the GMC will hold for awhile.
cylinder deactivation is not reliable really. In this case Ram has better engine and Sierra has the better transmission in terms of reliability.
He never mentioned the rear seats in the ram recline, the ram has the rambox option, the ram also has ac outlets in the rambox, most of the options in the ram are available at lower, much cheaper trim levels, and the 6.2 is only available in the Denali.
Not true. 6.2 is also offered in SLT modles
I've ridden in both and the Sierra seats felt a little more comfortable, armrests felt more natural to rest my arm on, door sounded more solid when it shut, that kind of thing. Ram Limited the leather, layout, quality of materials and just amount of thought that went into creating that interior was fantastic. Power was a wash for me, 6.2 only available on higher models for the most part, the Hemi is no slouch. I've been thinking I would get a luxury sedan when I hit my sixties but these luxury trucks have me rethinking that idea, especially the Longhorn Southfork and King Ranch.
Good review. I’ve had GM’s my whole life so I went with a Sierra. Employee discount from a relative helps make the decision easier. Honestly I don’t mind having more knobs and buttons I’d rather be looking at the road than trying to find the “button” for whatever it is on a giant screen taking my eyes off the road. Seems like a big hassle if you have electrical gremlins too.
I feel that he drives a slammed Honda Civic.
Haha haha close! He has a Volkswagen Golf!
2015
The Ram even has cooled rear seats....a PICK UP truck. The Ram wins the interior off that right there. But I'm taking Denali Exterior with power train and the Ram interior.
Love your guys's reviews. Very informative, confident. So appreciative of you giving Canadian prices. Think that needs to be done on every review. Additionally, payload and tow information is fantastic for those of us looking for stats on pulling a travel trailer or 5th wheel. For the amount of time test driving both vehicles, it would be good to know what type of fuel mileage you got. This review is a bit old, and I'm glad to see GM has added adaptive cruise control and Lane assist. But the GM interior is still dated. Ram continues to rock.
I own a 2019 Ram Limited. No comparison between them. So many features that are not even mentioned. Headlights turn with the wheel. Fog light turns on when you turn on a blinker. Air ride..
Fit and material inside is unmatched. Smart cruise is fantastic. One of my favorite things. Its really quiet inside. The power running boards. Automatic high beams/rain sense wipers (which you can adjust the sensitivity). It has transmission braking when in tow/haul mode. I could keep going for days. Its just a fantastic truck. Quality and features are unmatched in a pickup truck.
I don't get caught up on how the wood feels or what color stitching is on the seats. That's why I would buy mid range SLT. The Ram does have nicer seats no doubt but I'd take HUD and review cam mirror over the 12" fingerprint magnet any day. I have also heard that the leather in the Ram requires a lot of maintenance too.
theyre getting expensive because they used to have nothing. now they have EVERYTHING.
I have the 2019 Ram Rebel fully loaded with the Panoramic sunroof and Ramboxes in the back! Best truck ever!
Great review. I bought a new 2019 Ram 1500 Limited and am loving it and the reviewer is spot on in terms of his comments. The technology, interior quality and overall capabilities of the Ram make it the best new 1/2 ton on the market! Love the panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control as well as the 12' high definition tablet style in dash. Also, the U Connect system can't be beat for its intuitiveness and ease of use. Well done @ram1500 #ram1500
A tailgate inside a tailgate😂😂😂.. but I’m with ya. The ram interior is amazing. Just wish Toyota would follow suit. Maybe one 2030 they will have the ram interior.. 🤦🏽♂️
That would be cool. You can get the awesome interior in something that wont break down as much 😂
May be in 2050
I’d be happy if Toyota got the ride and power of the Ram and at least you interior like Ford without messing up the reliability.
Ram has it's own split tailgate now that you can still use if you have a hitch installed unlike the GMC. It's a 60/40 door style as well as a drop down. GMC did do the bed well but the Ram wins everywhere else. I don't care about a little less power, the Ram has enough for a 1500 truck. The GMC needs to go faster so you can get out of that hideous interior as quickly as possible :)
Toyotas always at least 10 years behind in interior and tech. The only tech they got is that toyota sense stuff which is nice. I hate toyotas but that rear window they got in their trucks is a brilliant feature, which more people did it
I prefer everything about the GMC but the Interior, and as mentioned that is a major part of a luxury vehicle. However I would still take the GMC.
Which is where you're going to spend all of your time. Is it worth it? You be the judge.
I wasn't going to watch the whole video, but this guy is really good, entertaining and very knowledgable.
just got the ram 1500 and i love it,
This is a hard one. I'll go with the Denali!! Powertrain.

Rams have quickly started to take over the most common new pickups around KY (as far as I've seen)
They brag about GM's bed and how nice it is but they never compare a ram box bed design, they are so great to use its unreal. The only place GM takes the cake is the motor that 6.2 is the best gasoline motor you can get in a pickup. All the tests iv seen the 6.2 has been the best on gas and it even takes eco boost. I want a ram with a 6.2 lol
The Ram Box doesn't get enough attention. It's a great idea and I wish TFL would have added that option to it's Ram Rebel.
Great review....love the ram...they improved alot...
The best review. Thank you.
which truck would i take?
i'd take the "pay off my house" truck.
🤣🤣🤣
Maybe the reason for GMC not spending more money on interior "little details," is because they put that money on quality parts that are vital to the truck running reliably. We need to stop giving RAM trucks a pass just because they look so good on the inside. But, I'm sure your mechanic appreciates the view all the times he's working on the RAM.
Freedom Rider I have to disagree but not to argue but I’ve own two Dodge Ram trucks 97 dodge 3500 with the Cummins and have 521,000 miles on it with just maintenance and a 2015 ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi with 277,000 miles on it with no problems again just maintenance. Iv owned a 2000 f150 a had constant engine and trans issues and before that had an 88 k5 blazer with transfers case and rust issues from day one of owning it. Needless to say I’ve been happy with Dodge trucks so far and will be sticking with them. Again just saying want no arguments

Very good comparison, but you left a few things out, such as the reclining rear seat in the RAM, and the rearview mirror camera on the Danali. But you did do an excellent job reviewing them!
Nice!! Great comparison!! :-)
GMC exterior, Ram interior.
My thoughts, exactly!!!!....
@@cwoolfork5974 And GMC powetrain.
Absolutely not. This is all down to opinion but Ram trucks are gorgeous. And even with me being a GM guy most of my life(recently made the switch to Chrysler), I can tell you that even Ford makes a better looking truck. I don’t know what the GM design team is doing but for Gods sake, these vehicles are getting so ugly
@@MichiganMan1994 THANK YOU I like the ram exterior why do people dislike it?
LOVE the inside of the RAM but the exterior is not convincing me. I LOVE the GMC exterior and i can deal with the interior its not that bad. So ill go with the Denali 😁
Nice review
Great comparison! Both trucks are great. The best truck is the one that has the features that YOU want. Personally, I wanted forward collision warning with auto-breaking and good crash test results. All other trucks were not even considered. So I bought the RAM.
Too bad you weren't able to see RAM's new barn door tailgate. I believe it is available on all trim levels. The optional GMC tailgate is only available on the highest level trims.
David Santora and the barn door is actually useful especially if you need to load a palate with something like a forklift, while the GMC has a staircase tailgate for old men to climb up into
Both are really nice trucks, even if I believe the idea of "luxury trucks" is stupid, but I HATE that giant, chrome, big-rig style grill on the GMC. GMC has the power advantage but I've seen nicer interiors on $30k cars honestly. The idea of spending $67k on either of these is ridiculous. Both are too nice to really work with, and if you want it for comfort and interior take that money and buy a luxury sedan or even an SUV.
Why? People want the luxury of those vehicles with the utility of a truck. Most modern truck buyers aren't using them for work.
Great review my man!
Air suspension on the ram does make the ride smoother for sure. But I’d be worried about it breaking and the cost of repair... so I don’t know if I would want that slight extra comfort for the potential down fall.
Ram has proven very reliable I know I beat the hell out of my 2017 Rebel, and now the happy owner of now limited, last good GMC was 2003 model. By the way, I tested all three brands and ram the best ride with the best comfort. but any new truck is good. But that is just my taste.
I love the the 12v outlet in the dash of the Ram. With a radar detector or a Garmin (which I like even with builtin Navigation), don't have to run wires down off the dashboard...The one thing I wish Ram would have which the GMC has is a heads up display. Seats in the Ram blow away the GMC. Hate the GMC shifter, always end up putting it in L instead of D.
I like the ram but love the way the gmc look on the outside
They are both trash! Ram is shit chrysler and gmc is garbage motors
Yes I agree you're a true Ram man I love the new GMC very beautiful truck hands down and in the long run the GMC will still be running strong
I agree!! Right on!
Those GM’s can run for a long time. I still see a lot of CK’s and gmt800’s on the road. Theres at least 5-6 gmt800’s on my block alone including mine
Good for thought. I sold a house to a regional manager relocating from up north. He recommended not going with a 2020 or 2021 Denali because he said they had it many problems . I was very surprised. Haven’t spoke to him since seeling the house so I’m not sure about the 2022. Buyer beware for sure….
Absolutely agree with you mate-my pick would be the Ram as well just for its interiors. Now that’s where we’re gonna spend most of our time. Also, not sure what the e-torque system does - improve fuel efficiency? Better start-stop functionality? Let us know.
I’m gonna pick up a Ram soon.
Quick suggestion - would be great to have the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado in the comparos as well
The only problem with the RAM is that it is built by FCA. Quality control is just there when FCA is concerned.
Both bad azz trucks
True! Chrysler trash and gmc garbage
I have the 2019 Ram Limited with the Ram Box. Its sweet bro.
Good review.
I appreciate your thorough review. I want to share that I spent a long time looking at luxury trucks; Denali, High Country, King Ranch, and Ram Limited, and I chose the Denali. I concede that it is laking inside, but as you said with the exterior-less can be more-too much technology in the Ram makes it uncomfortable for me. Also, even though this is a review for "luxury truck winner" these are still trucks; and the Ram just cannot compete with Denali in regards to the power and ride. It boils down to preference, and I have happily chosen a fully loaded Denali.
Thank you so much for your reviews they have been a wonderful resource!!
All of the "added" technology turns me off from the Dogde...mmm I mean Ram... I would think that the damn video screen would be a major distraction. I am perfectly happy with my Denali. And the power with a better ride to boot!
Um. No way in the world the Denali or any GMC truck rides better than the Ram.
who is going to sit there for 5 minutes when parking looking at camara views when parking. i love how they over sell technology
exactly like who the hell needs adaptive cruise control, just keep your damn eyes on the road and what's in front of you, like who even uses cruise control anyway, just another gimmick to allow people to use their phones while driving.
@@vitoallen9433 u would b suprized. that's a really good safety feature because if u happen to doze off while driving u not going to hit a vehicle at what ever speed u have it set on. plus it eaven has automatic braking so if a car just cut u off all of a sudden the vehicle will automatically slow down or stop if necessary. i have it on my vehicle i love it because the computer can respond faster than u can

7:07 you can also change what info it has where yours currently has the speed on top, the range along the right and on the left where the menu list is since it will just show you what menu your in and the number it is on the list along the top that i mentioned when your scrolling through screens. you can customize every bit of info thats a screen and not a physical dial. so in 7 spots can customize what info you would like to see. you can basically have 11 gauges showing you info
I was really looking forward to the gmc refresh, but was totally let down on the interior and suspension. The wife really likes the ram and we may go with ram after 20 years with gmc if they don’t do an interior refresh very soon. And what about headlight reviews??? Some shots at night? Both the ram limited and gmc headlights have been rated poor. Can you shed some light???
Get an F-150!
This is why im rebuilding my 2001
I've considered the same George but the whole truck is just too shopworn after 250K miles.
Same, I figured if I put $30,000 (as opposed to spending that on a new one) into my 2003 Silverado, it would be any freaking thing I want it to be and it'll likely last damn near my entire lifetime.
Be glad you won't be amongst the 7 million Americans that are at least 90 days behind on auto loan payments.
@@lawnguy3267 it is sad when you can buy a mobile home cheaper then a automobile
My 04 doesn't even need rebuilt. It looks brand new. I keep it polished up and I put in new headlights and parking lights . Totally revived the front end. People constantly tell me they think it's a new truck.
My dad had a 1973 Delta 88 and mom a ‘73 Caprice. I had a ‘71 LeSabre. All three were from the same generation of full sized cars. Each had a 350 engine but each engine at the time had different head designs and driving characteristics. That might be too much to ask today however each division had its own switchgear, directional stalks and transmission shifter. GM needs to step up its interior design game.
The rear seat vents were introduced on the 2019 GMs? That's interesting because my 2000 Silverado has them.
Two years laters , Rams cost half of that , GMC still cost the same , I go with Denali
Truck companies crack me up with payload numbers. 1486 pounds of payload? Why not an even 1500 is 14 pounds really going to make a truck unsafe to drive?😂
The payload is affected by options. For every option added, take that weight away from your payload. Sooooo....the base payload of a base truck likely IS an even number. Good luck getting all the options to add up perfectly. They don't build assemblies to be nice even numbers.
Michael Godsey makes sense
I love the RAM 1500 long Horn.great choice l bought thanks.
