    You have a smart friend. I rank ODU and FedEx Freight as the top two trucking companies so he really can't go wrong. I work for FedEx Express and could go to Freight but I choose to stay with Express. Unlike Freight drivers who are paid by the mile, Express drivers are paid by the hour and I'm an expert on milking the clock.

    FedEx is heavy on teaming. That’s why there’s so much more drivers than vehicles.

    This is far most the best video yet. Brothr thank u so much for this one. Like u say this is the nitty gritty right here. I gaurentee ya most companies wouldn't want u to see this because this is the truth that they keep in the back of the dark room. Lol
    And expecially for us O/O this is shit we must see. For insurance purposes and other things too. Because more than likely a company work high csa score insurance is out the roof and, it's almost like doing a credit check on the company. Yeah we need to factor they ass too lmao😂🤣😆😂
    Because companies like to bring u on in and u find out later. I noticed company should put they weekly fees out there too like they highly speak about how good they companies are. Lol really ain't no company better than your own company. But thanks again. This is a great video... Stay bless 🙏🙏

    Thanks Alex for the ideas and suggestions in your videos.Im considering changing careers myself the auto repair industry here In Houston still hasn’t gotten back, in the after market repair industry thanks to hurricane Harvey. At least with a D.O.T license you have more options.Plus when was the last time you saw a 70 year old mechanic?

    I worked for Old Dominion Freight Line for a while. People quit in a regular basis and for many reasons. They do hire at a high rate because they offer a generous pay. The problem is, from outside it's shiny, from inside it's a dirty toilet. They offer me $ 0.70 /mile, but I have to fight every day to get decent amount of miles to drive. What's the point if you pay me good per mile and I don't drive lots of miles?

    I know a small tank lines company with 70 drivers and only 21 power units. There are two shifts however, and scheduling keeps the drivers active... I’m thinking that if a company hires at the same rate as their turnover, what appears to be retention could be misleading.

    They slip seat day cabs.. any slip seat company will always have more drivers than trucks that way the trucks never stop moving

    More drivers than trucks means they have different shifts and are slip seating the trucks.

    Hmmmm…for a company to have exactly 20,211 drivers for 6 months straight seems highly unlikely. The number must certainly fluctuate from month to month, week to week, even daily for a company that large.

    What if a small carrier is showing "Not Rated", and they have been around for a couple years? Any reason for not having a rating?

  • @kitrunner6596
    @kitrunner6596 4 роки тому

    Not really helpful. I checked a decent previous company to a horrible previous company and not much of a change. They both retain drivers. The horrible one does have a declining google rating while the decent company is at a stand still at 4.8 stars...

    I tried this and was surprised to find some things....Does the carrier report this info to CSA? I put in some megas that you know people hate and they still have the same info. Under carrier history the #of drivers and power units stays the same. How is turnover accounted for?

    • @c-w-h
      @c-w-h 4 місяці тому +1

      Probably not required. DOT regulations were built by the mega carriers to keep themselves in power. VIA the lobbyists. They dont want really bad stats. That one is going to be really bad looking. Also, you will note that there also isnt a turnover rate for dispatchers either. 😉
      Another website to look up stats. There is a website for lawsuit statistics too against all the carrier companies. This is just as important for deciding a job. If there is an ongoing lawsuit. Stay away.
