      The best oil to use on any engine is Motorkote: it is the only oil on the planet literally that is 100% anti-friction and it bonds itself to the metal the oil cost $100 like per gallon but it’s totally worth it do you won’t have to change the oil for at least five years and it protects the engine

    As a o/o over the road driver. For the new drivers , don’t carry enough tools To change a transmission or any major job because you are not going to be doing that on the side of the road anyway. But keep clamps light bulbs and enough tools to change belts and hoses. Listen if your an owner operator and you can’t afford to get your truck fixed then you are working at the wrong place. Keep trucking be courteous to other drivers and God bless you and be safe.

      “If you are an owner operator and can’t afford to fix your truck, you are at the wrong place”. I halfway agree on that. I know a guy that was an owner operator for Mercer. He paid off his truck AND he paid off a flatbed trailer through Mercer. Never had anything over $200 in his maintenance account. Well he blew the head gasket and completely fawked up the engine...he practically melted part of it! Couldn’t afford to fix it so he sold it for $5000 and now he’s over the road driving for $800 a week and miserable as heck.
      I don’t get it. He had no payments for over six months and didn’t even have anything saved up...

    As a O/O for 25 years My advice is don't buy a truck if you can't turn any wrenches a driver needs to have tool skills and a mechanical concept of repair. NEVER DO LEASE PURCHASE ITS A SCAM. Ive never done a lease purchase, lease purchase means you don't have money and chances are no concept of business. . Fuel is your biggest expense then tires. Older trucks to avoid DEF isn't good buisness base on over the road vs local running Ive owned Freightliner, kenworth Volvo and currently a 2019 Mack From Cats, to Detroit's to D13 ,M8 again fuel economy and comfort its key. The engine and transmission spec to your work. This is my opinions Be profitable and safe.

The auction yard typically sells the truck for less than sixteen thousand dollars and move trucks to their used truck dealers yard and they will sell the truck for thousands more than they paid. Finding metal in that filter means its doing its job, don't assume that the pump is going bad. Its possible that the pump was changed already and that's leftover from trying to clean the tanks out. I noticed a frame mount filter which will catch anything before actually going into the fuel module. Its also possible, that truck in the video has already experience a pump failure and that's why the frame mounted filter is there.

    Oh that's right he's a repairman and a dealer he doesn't want to let anybody know that that's one of the biggest ongoing scams in the country that nobody wants to clean or replace because it's 6K to clean and 10K to replace the filter. High pressure pump failure is more on the 10 thousand dollar range, if you find yourself in that situation always check manufacturer warranty, usually it’s around 500,000 and they will do it the correct way. The fuel quantity control valve is not to bad unless you have a short noise then the labor rate is a lil higher. Don’t know if that helps anybody figured I’d put it out there

    The best oil to use on any engine is Motorkote: it is the only oil on the planet literally that is 100% anti-friction and it bonds itself to the metal the oil cost $100 like per gallon but it’s totally worth it do you won’t have to change the oil for at least five years and it protects the engine

      I want to know if you have found a reputable dealer that you could recommend. I’m looking to possibly get into driving but don’t want to work as a company driver too long. (Enough to save around 50k60k. No family or responsibilities other than myself)
      I’m seeing a bunch of scams. Making sense of all this is extremely difficult and time consuming but it is my future and find it necessary. I’m sorry for your experience and value your time if you could spare me some of the horrors you’ve encountered by pointing me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

      @@crossisaac The best advice I can give you is save up a down payment, figure about 20% of the cost of the truck you want and then lease a truck from an actual dealership. Chances are you can get a brand new truck with a 500000 mile warranty that will make your life a lot easier and less stressful. Every dealership offers leases. Just go online to Paccar, Freightliner, Volvo, and International and see what the requirements are. Leasing a truck has a lot of advantages over buying one. First off, every lease payment you make is a tax deduction unlike buying a truck you can only use depreciation for so long. Second after the lease is up you can trade into another new truck with another 500000 mile warranty. Don’t forget if something goes wrong with the truck you don’t have to pay for it, truck parts are not cheap.
      Use the time working for a company to gain experience and also build your credit and save up your down payment. If you’re looking to get your own trailer also then leasing it has the same benefits as the truck lease.
      Last make sure you put a side a little money to pay an attorney to read your lease contract for you. Especially if you go somewhere other than an actual dealership. That can save you a ton of trouble and is money well spent.

    • @crossisaac
      @crossisaac 3 роки тому +1

      @@tactical_trucker4761 I’ve found what you said to be the best option. Reading it from you and other experienced drivers helps me feel at ease about leasing. I wanted to make sure these companies really were scams, because after all, reading all the great reviews from used equipment leasing companies made me double think. I have some funds saved up before I got laid off due to the pandemic, but want way more funding to do what you advised, should I feel as committed to making a career out of driving. Right now trying to find employment with my resume is quite difficult and I’ve always had a passion and respect for driving and drivers. The cost of the machines is what I’m skeptical when becoming an o/o. Will I make money to pay for it? I wanted to get a real look at driving for a few years prior to leasing. I agree with you and your advice again. I really appreciate that you took the time to share valuable knowledge that I’ve been searching for what seems months on end. I truly hope others read this and make the most of it because it can be difficult not doing the research first and going to lease one of these used trucks due to the price. Worst of all, going with a lease to purchase program through SFI or something. There are so many reviews online that state how much of a scam it is and all I want to do is work and work hard for my income. None of us have time to be scammed. I really wish you the best Sir!! Stay safe and thank you for delivering goods across the country.
