Eritreans are also great marathon runners as well. Countries benefit from adapting to high altitudes in East Africa, which helps in endurance sports like marathons and cycling. Also culture, Italians brought cycling to us which was perfect for our body types and our terrain being so high like others mentioned. Same thing with long distance running, a mix bag of having the perfect body type for it because living in mountain regions. Eritrea is the only of the 3 colonized by Italy, and I think that’s where the cycling.🇪🇷

    Stage 3 winner
    Stage 8 winner
    Stage 12 winner
Making Bini the rider with the most stages by far in this year's competition.

The fight between tadej and jonas moves us in more than the purely sporting sense. As I see it, it is also a battle between two types - the extroverted and risk-averse and, on the other hand, the down-to-earth and industrious and strategic. We as humans have to have both sides to cope. As a Dane, I of course wants Jonasto win, but I like Tadej very much.

I remember living in Catonia, Sicily serving the US Navy, back in 1993. I had just started my cycling passion in arguibly the most historic nation in the world, Italy. What a gift Italy was for me. The big buzz in Italy that year was the hope of Claudio Cuppuchi winning the 93 World Championship. Its wouldve completed & capped a more than fanatastic career placing Cuppuchi as one Italys Great cyclist. But the next day, some guy from the US did a late solo breakaway and out of nowhere, beat Cuppuchi and Miguel Indurain to win the 1993World Championship in Islo. The Italians where pissed, is an understatement!! And I remember asking somebody, "who the fuck is Lance Armstrong!!!!?'
Lance Armstrong is a muthrfxking BEAST! MUCH RESPECT, AND THANKS BRO!!
