Very helpful thanks! I've never used the bus in Paris before, only the metro, so this helps alleviate my fears
You’re so welcome! This is exactly why I make videos like this
ur skin is GLOWING!! thank you sm for this vid, very helpful!
Aww thank you! Paris really agrees with me :) I'm so glad you found this helpful.
Thank you very much :) It is a very useful video, summarized, concise and you have a very cheerful way of telling things, a huge greeting from Chile and have very nice trips/adventures!
You’re so welcome! I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it and found it useful. I hope to visit Chile one day soon🇨🇱
Studying abroad in the UK, and I decided to do a week in Paris - this video was so helpful! Thank you! Made my trip so much easier.
You’re so welcome! Ironically enough, I’ve only been to Heathrow Airport haha but hopefully that’ll change one day soon. Enjoy Paris✨🇫🇷
I loved the amount of detail you went into and didn't assume we knew anything. Thank you!
You're so welcome! I was in the same position not too long ago, so I know how it feels. Have a nice trip🇫🇷
I agree. I needed to know where to tap my card and now I know!
Love this information! Thank you!
You’re so welcome! Thanks for watching🤗
Super helpful, thank you!!❤
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching🚌
Excellent information very useful! Thank you!
You’re so welcome! Thanks for watching🚌
Thank you for the helpful info!
You’re so welcome! Thanks for watching🤗
Thanks for this helpful video! The bus intimidates me and I always end up taking the Métro. But I’m challenging myself on my upcoming trip to try the bus!
You’re so welcome! I agree on how daunting the bus can be but you can do it. Happy to hear that my video was helpful🤗
Thank you for your video I am French and thanks to your video I will be better off taking the bus on my next visit to Paris.🙏🙏🙏
De rien! I'm glad that you found it helpful. Enjoy your next visit to Paris🤗
An extremely helpful video. Merci beaucoup.
De rien!! :)
Useful practical information shared 👍
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful.
Very clear thanks 😊
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Very helpful video. I am traveling around Paris with my baby while my husband is at work. The metro is not very baby+stroller friendly, and a colleague suggested the bus would be a better fit. It's a heatwave this week, so i'm hoping to visit some museums downtown. Cheers!
You’re so welcome! Happy to hear that it’s useful to you.
I’ve noticed the great amount of stairs to get in and out of metro stations and can only imagine the difficulty for parents traveling with their young children. Hopefully the bus is more accommodating and allows you to explore Paris more.
Cheers!🇫🇷
Thank you..very helpful
You’re welcome, safe travels
Good job!
Thanks for watching!
Great video if I put my paper ticket in the bus thing does it give me it back to use it again and if I have used it in the metro can I use it on the bus seen on other people videos that it lasts for 90 minutes I’m a bit confused lol
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found it helpful.
A paper ticket is active for two hours after you first use it (Insert it into a machine). It's possible to go from the Metro to the RER train with the same ticket if you're going to Versailles for example. However, it's not possible to use a paper ticket in the Metro then use it again on the bus.
Once you physically leave a Metro station, RER station, or get off the bus your one-way paper ticket is null in-void.
Bonne vacances!🇫🇷
Once you scan your navigo pass in the reader that’s mean it’s validated unlike the paper it will show the time and date right ? Thanks for the video
Great question, thanks for watching!
If you scan a Navigo pass it’s recorded in the greater RATP system and isn’t timestamped like a paper ticket. Rather based off of your plan (Daily, weekly, monthly, annual) you’ll see if it’s still valid or not once you’ve scanned it. And through the Bonjour RATP app, you can top up your pass.
For more information about Navigo passes, check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/rUxXBUFn05U/v-deo.htmlsi=d8vmw_-CcWmF33nd
Can i check, there is an option to buy 2, 3. 4 tickets...do they have to be used on the same day? For example...if i buy 2 single tickets...can i use the first one on day 1 and the second one on day 3? Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Yes, there are options to buy multiple tickets for example book of ten, day pass, weekend pass, weekly pass, monthly pass, etc.
As for the validity of tickets, they don’t expire but there is a 90-minute window from the first validation to the last validation. A single ticket grants you a one-way trip.
Hope that helps!
I was in London last July and learned why the busses kept passing by me and not stopping. I needed to raise my hand to let them know I wanted them to stop. Is that the same in Paris? I tried to take a bus last July in Paris, but couldn’t find a place to buy a ticket, so I Ubered back to my hotel.
Thanks for watching! I've only been to Heathrow, but I had no idea that was the case in London. In Paris, as long as you're at the bus station and clearly indicate with your body position that you're wanting to enter the bus it'll stop for you. So, don't be seated, on your phone, etc. when a bus comes by and you'll be fine.
Thanks for sharing your video with useful infos. My concern is the BOOK OF 10 tickets t, can 3 adults use that simultaneously or do we have to buy 3 books of 10 tickets to use separately? Thanks.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
Since posting this, there’s been an announcement to remove the book of 10 tickets and offer a Navigo Easy Pass instead with the same amount of tickets just on a physical card.
Here’s a video explaining it and what it grants you access to:
ua-cam.com/users/shortsR2MqNK48vtI?feature=share
I think this is the best option for the three of you. You can share this card and reload it as you wish.
Have a nice trip!🇫🇷
@@TheSavvyCScoop Thanks for your reply. Well actually we are only staying 4 days including 1 day at Disneyland so Navigo pass is really not our first choice. Hoping when we arrive, which is on June 17 there are still paper tickets available. But just in case we are lucky with the Book of 10 tickets, can the three of us use the book of 10 simultaneously or do we need to buy 3 separate book of 10 tickets? Btw I have 2 Ytube accounts you can reply here too no problem . Thanks again.
hi! what about apps showing to use bus to get to La Defence Arena, but you mentioned t+ is only for the city not the suburbs☹️
Thanks for watching! Bonjour RATP & Île-de-France Mobilités are two apps that are perfect for navigating Paris city center and the surrounding suburbs. Hope that helps:)
Does it automatically stop on each stop or do u have to push the stop button when approaching your destination?
Great question! The buses don’t stop at each stop and I learned this the hard way. Push the stop button when you’re approaching the destination.
Hi i have a question, i want to take bus 95 from Oprea Garnier to the paris flea market, but can i just buy a ticket in the bus?
Thanks for watching! You can't buy tickets on the bus, but you can download the Bonjour RATP app and buy a bus ticket(s) on there. When you're entering the bus, you'll be able to scan your phone with your ticket on it.
Hope that helps
if I have a paper ticket does it spit it out like the metro? can I use that same paper ticket to transfer to another bus? what is "validation" thing I keep hearing about with tickets? if you don't validate and get caught by security they will fine you?
Good question! Once the ticket is inserted, there’s a 90-minute validation period. You can buy paper tickets inside a metro station but I recommend downloading the RATP app instead. And yes, if security catches you without a valid ticket you’ll get fined
Hey nice video!
If i want to reach to somewhere and it takes 2 bus rides (need to transit), do we pay for 2 tickets or only one?
Because in metro we only pay 1 ticket even though we are transit a lot as long as we don't leave the exit
Great question! Bus tickets are valid for 90 minutes regardless of how many transfers you do. The validation period starts the first time you insert it/scan it on the bus. Thanks for watching🚌
@@TheSavvyCScoop I’ve been trying to find the answer for a long time anywhere, thanks for your help!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re so welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for watching🤗
Is single ticket distance based?will I be charged minimum fare if I ride the bus for the longest distance?
Great question, thanks for watching! A single ticket fare is the same regardless if you’re going five stops or fifteen, so definitely take advantage and go for a longer distance.
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
What if there is no ticket machine or a nearby metro station to buy tickets from?
Thanks for watching! If that happens, you can download the « Île-de-France Mobilités » app and buy tickets and/or Navigo pass there.
Can you purchase a bus ticket the same way outside of Paris with the card from a train station?
Thanks for watching, great question! Yes, the Navigo travel pass is for the entire Île-de-France region (Paris and the surrounding suburbs).
Thank you for this video....I want to take a bus from CDG airport to Paris ( bus 350 ) ..where can i buy the tickets from?
Thanks for watching! You can buy bus tickets at CDG Terminal 2. There are kiosks with SNCF employees around if you need help as well as an office with SNCF employees if you have a specific issue that needs to be addressed.
@@TheSavvyCScoop Thanks 😊😊
Hi, first of all, good video!, second of all I have a question about purchasing a ticket when there is no metro station near the bus station... Where do I get a ticket (I do not have a navigo card) ?
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Great question. There’s an app called “Bonjour RATP” download that and buy your bus tickets there without having to physically go to a metro or RER station.
@@TheSavvyCScoopThank you for the video and all the useful information. Very helpful. :)
I assume that when using the Visite Pass that the process is the same, yes?
Great question and the answer is yes. Same concept just different card name/category. Thanks for watching!
If we need to change 2 buses then does it mean that first bus when we entered then we need to scan the ticket and no other scan while get down. In that case if we need to catch another bus after than stop whether we need to scan again - in that case it will count 2 tickets?
Thanks for watching! If you're using single-use tickets, every time you physically get on and later off a bus that counts as one trip (one ticket). So if you catch two separate buses, that would require two single-use tickets.
@@TheSavvyCScoop oh I thought it would count 90 minutes for multiple hop on hop off
@@samirdutta2536 To my knowledge, that's not the case but I could be wrong. Things often change regarding transportation. When you're at the station, double check with a worker
Great
Thanks for watching!🇫🇷
Hi there! How can get to Abbesses station from Eiffel tower
Hi, thanks for watching! Abbesses is a stop on line 12 of the Metro. There isn't a bus that'll take you from the Eiffel to Abbesses. Instead, I recommend using the Metro going from Line 6 (station: Bir-Hakeim) to Pasteur then change to Line 12 (Pasteur to Abbesses). Hope that helps
Hi! Thanks for the info. It’s a big help for me my family. Will be visiting Paris next week.
Oh how exciting! Since you're going to take public transport, be sure to download this app as well: Île-de-France Mobilités
Enjoy your trip🇫🇷
Do I have to scan my navigo pass before leaving the bus?
Thanks for watching! You’ll scan your Navigo pass once when you enter the bus.
@@TheSavvyCScoop Thank you so much. How can I buy the Navigo Easy Pass at Bercy Seine Bus Station?
@@sannsamnang9308 Once you arrive by bus, head to the Bercy metro station and you can buy it there.
@@TheSavvyCScoop thank you so much. Bercy Metro Station is Gare De Paris Bercy?
@@sannsamnang9308 You're welcome. There's Gare de Lyon and there's Bercy. Just look up Bercy Metro and you'll find it, have a nice trip
hi, can i just buy a ticket inside the bus? to the driver…
Hi, you can’t buy bus tickets on the bus with the driver. Your options are either buy them in person at a Metro station and/or Tabac or download the Bonjour RATP app and buy them directly if you have an android or get a Navigo Easy Pass beforehand then top it off in the app if you have an iPhone
What are the pros and cons of taking the bus in Paris? Do you prefer taking the bus or metro in Paris?
Good question! The biggest pro with taking the bus is how scenic the rides are and you learn the city quite fast while the biggest con is that the next bus arrival times vary/your ETA isn’t always certain.
For the cons of taking a bus, I usually ride the metro. It’s packed but quick and efficient way to travel around the city.
Hope that helps🇫🇷🚌
