    Great video thanks. Must admit when I looked at the map and venues my immediate logical thought was ‘why not just make all urban Paris transit free for 4 weeks’. It would move crowds better and stop congestion at ticket barriers and queues etc. I know it costs money to waive fares but it’s gained in other benefits.

      They had to build a few more lines for the Olympics Games, and they wanted this investment to be partly paid by spectators paying a higher price for transportation.

    Thank you for all the tips. Based on a prior video of yours, we ended up purchasing two sets each of the 10-ticket carnets on our RATP mobile apps before the price hike. We'll be overlapping with the Paralympic Games.

      @@paristoptipscan you confirm if the t+ ticket covers the whole metro? If I need to get to La Defense, as long as I stay in the metro network this is okay and will cost only 1 ticket? I am thinking I can just stick to he metro for my whole trip to save money

    • @paristoptips
      @paristoptips  12 днів тому

      @@cccddd8214 Absolutely!
      T+ tickets cover all metro stations on all metro lines, at the only (and new) exception of the Orly Airport on line 14.
      If you go to la Défense, you will need only 1 t+ ticket on métro Line 1, but you'll need a more expensive point-to-point ticket on RER lines A and E.

      @@paristoptipsthe IDF mobilities app is saying I can take two metro lines (2 and 1) to get to la defense so thinking I can do that? Is it not cheaper to just use the metro during a stay, or is the metro a nightmare during rush hour?

    • @paristoptips
      @paristoptips  12 днів тому

      @@cccddd8214 Depending on where you start from, I guess they're saying you'll have to take line 2, and then 1 to La Défense.
      At rush hours (8:00 to 9:30 and 16:00 to 19:00), they will get crowded, but, hey, that's the Paris Experience! 😁

    To whoever may read that comment, apologies for the serious tone of this comment, but if you happened to have plan to come to Paris for those Olympics, please just change it, choose another destination. France is currently ruled by an authentically totalitarian, autocratic regime. Democracy has fallen here. Individual freedoms are increasingly threatened. If you love France and want to help the French people, then just boycott the event so that it can be turned into a major failure in the face of the world for Macron and his minions. Please be also aware that the people who make up this regime are truly incompetent, with the mainstream media constantly covering up their blunders. For several years this incompetence has been responsible for an increase in violent crime in the country. It's really worrying that these people could be entrusted with the organization of such an event.

      I'm not sure my channel has to be the place for a rant against the French president and his government.
      And then, if there are many problems in Paris now, they are mostly to be blamed on the Mayor of Paris.
      Please no more political sided comments or I'll have to mute you on my channel

      The reason they gave for that, is that they had to create multiple new lines of metro and RER for the Olympics, and that the increase in fare during the game is here to help with the investment.
