Love this! We are in 500 sq ft and five acres with only three girls after leaving 2,400 sq ft behind- I wouldn’t go back for anything! We have a Murphy bed downstairs for us and the girls up in the loft. Stay strong sharing your story against the worldly ideals of bigger is better. There’s nothing like working the land and only living on what you need!
put his desk in the bedroom, get a bed with storage underneath. Then you can get a much better couch and maybe a chair for the living room. Also, get a island cart for the kitchen. Then the house will function much better.
Just a thought: an L-shaped couch with storage inside (think Ikea has one) and a coffee tables that has a part that raises up to put the laptop on then a two-drawer filing cabinet for paperwork but with a cover or plant on top it looks like a side table
Great home tour! We currently live in a 900 SQFt pole barn that is combined living space, water storage, laundry room and garage space. The challenges are real but with organization and using vertical space it helps. I love how open your place looks with your kitchen/living/work space still. And the dishes- I totally get you- our sink is so tiny it’s overflowing after a few dishes so I’m always doing dishes. Thanks so much for sharing!
You outdid me! We are four people in 600 square feet, and everyone already thinks we're crazy. :) I think that little add-on in the back is amazing. I want to try the separate hamper trick.
I really like your porch with the lanterns. Enjoyed your tour! 😊 Just a thought. I would utilize the bedroom more. Get a sofabed, and use it as a living room. In the kitchen I would put a table, multipurpose, homeschooling, office, crafting. Enjoy your cozy home and eachother.
"No dishwasher" ha ha ha....when I was 10, I asked my mom if we could get one and she looked at me and said, "But we already have a dishwasher"...lol...my sisters and I always helped with it cus mom was divorced and working all day. To this day, at age 59, with 4 kids under my belt, I actually prefer handwashing cus it's such a Zen activity for me. ;)
Yeah, that low railing in the loft looks hazardous to me to. Also, the loft ladder would be much easier to use if built as a slightly sloping ship's ladder.
I (Chelsea) felt the same when I saw it, but the girls are very capable climbers and have never had a fall yet. That said, we look forward to finishing our new addition where the girls will have real rooms after 2 years in their little house!
Very comfortable looking home, however Tim should try to build a L shaped couch, refurbish that beautiful couch and sell it, also he should refurbish that beautiful desk and keep it, you guys have real family living going on, don't apologize for anything.
I have the same size cabin- for me , my son and guests. I do not think I could handle 6 people, homeschooling etc ...I like to have privacy ...not for everyone but glad you have made it work. I hope you get the wrap around ( extends living space) and are able to get the dishwasher etc. I would just build a couch with storage inside, move the office to the bedroom and think about getting a small shed delivered that would be a school house. Not a lot of costs involved but would allow your space to be geared towards relaxing and more space as the kids grow up.
Thank you Nata! Yes we are finally building onto our space- we definitely couldn’t stay in the cabin for more than 2 years without going a little batty!
You could put a good size couch .get rid of desk .put fold down desk cube shelving on wall near door with coat hooks. Nice L shape couch from Ikea has storage under cushions.they have coffee tables that raise up to be dining tables.
If I had to share a space with my sibling I would have gone nuts! We were like Tom and Jerry in the past. To each his own naturally and they are used to it I suppose. Maybe a strange question. How much would an 'extention' to the cabin cost? You know to build a little more space. Just a thought. At least a room for 2 children each.
Yes we want to- we are just so busy! Also I think we underestimated the amount of negativity we would be dealing with by sharing things on the internet.
Thanks for sharing your cabin, I love it, its beautiful! Just curious but wondering did you guys build your cabin by yourselves or did you pay a contractor or company to build it? Or was it already built and you bought it with the land? We are wanting g to buy land to start a homestead and small farm and looking at our options with housing. Could you do a video on however you bought the cabin and land? Like if you built it what was the process like and how much did it cost or if you had someone else build it how much was that? And are you guys planning on building a bigger house one day or planning on living in the 500 sq cabin for awhile? I love seeing how other families with young children are owning farms and living g tiny and seeing that its doable!
We purchased the land with the cabin on it. And to this day we don't know how the loan went through! We sought a conventional loan. We faced a lot of pushback from insurance companies and the lenders, and we got this place by the skin of our teeth! We are planning on adding on, as our daughters get bigger, the house certainly gets smaller... and they are growing like weeds. However, we've enjoyed living here for two years and have not killed one another yet ;)
Liz Leary hey Liz! I didn’t delete it, I stopped paying for that blog platform because it was annoyingly costly each month and I didn’t have any time for writing :(
Wow it’s very nice but how do you and your husband have alone private time? Also when the kids are teen that will be rough having such a small place to sleep. However to each his own and I wish your family happiness always.
We are currently building on to our place, the cabin was always a temporary plan. However we do prefer living small so we will never live in anything ginormous, even as a family of six! We've had to be very creative for alone time but its certainly a struggle.
We are actually Catholic but there is a Byzantine Catholic Church about 30 minutes from our farm- I’ve been a few times and I was very interested! I love eastern Christian traditions.
Hey Deb! The cabin was always a short term option for us while we save money to build a bigger place 😊 I should have stated that in the video! We’ve lived here for about 2 years now and haven’t killed each other so I think we are doing well ❤️
We didn't build it- it was here on our farm property when we arrived, but it has a stamp in the wood on the interior that says Conestoga Cabin! Good luck!
Hi Sharilee! Everyone is leaving a similar comment- we should have said in the original video that this is a TEMPORARY living situation. Our new add-on is nearly finished! In the meantime our girls have been very happy with farm life, in spite of having to be in the cabin for nearly 2 years. 😊

the most realistic tiny house living i have ever seen. love it.
barbieholic thank you! 💖
How about one of those Home Depot sheds ? LOL

Bless your family. Lovely home and happy family. I love the simple design. This is what real home looks like. 🌹🌹🌹
Cute place and beautiful family!
Love it . we used to live in small home and we made it work. We move because when market crash we found a old home for 19. Blessings
Just enjoy your family, your home is sweet. Can't wait to see more videos.

our ancestors could do it and still build a nation. Way to go guys!
“Here is the baby chewing his shoe..” hehe love this. So authentic.
Omgoodness a real modern Ingalls family! Right down to the 3 girls. So cute. Love this.
Ahhh didn't see the baby!
Thank you Michelle! We love the Little House books over here!
I love it! Ya'll seem so happy !
Thank you Tina!

Yes it can be sort of relaxing, sometimes I listen to podcasts and it’s quite zen!
I like the laundry idea
I love this!!!!
Love the house !!
The railing up in the bunk room for the girls should be higher. God forbid one falls down!!

Just like Little house on the prairie 😁
We use the hashtag #littlehouseonthepasture for our farm on Instagram for this very reason! 😍
Thanks for posting an authentic view of your awesome family and cabin. Just curious what does your husband do for work?
We farm full time, and partner with other small family farms around the state to provide clean local food to our customer base.
@@groveladderfarm4105 appreiate the response back. That's awesome guys. Thanks again for your sharing your experience.👍
You guys should have your own show!
Cute little home. I didn't think the main room looked cramped with the girls in the living room area and dad in the kitchen
What a cute baby ! On video that place looks smaller than 500 square.
It's a Little House on the Prairie..love it!
We use the hashtag #littlehouseonthepasture on Instagram for this very reason! we are big fans of the Little House books over here!

What if you moved the desk to where the couch is? It would free up the longer wall for a larger couch.

I love your home tour ❤️

Yes we want to- we are just so busy! Also I think we underestimated the amount of negativity we would be dealing with by sharing things on the internet.
I really love your cabin
That works for now, but what happens as the kids get bigger? Need a better sleeping arrangement.
We've already built it ;) As it says in the description, this was only a temporary living situation.
Mega cute family.
Really nice 👍
Beautiful family

Beautiful cabin for family. But, there is no more intimacy for this lovely couple. Guess they managed time for themselves.
Lol we’ve made it work! Thankfully the cabin has always been a temporary situation for us 😎 we should have said so in the original vid!!
Beautiful
Thank you so much Deborah!
Beautiful home. But I worry the railing around the girl's loft isn't high enough. But great home. 🏡 🙂
everything went a little silent around the dish conversation.
How are you doing today? Do you plan to move or make a bigger house? Looks cute yet I would need more room
Coress H we are building a bigger house 15’ away from the cabin with a deck between the two.
@@groveladderfarm4105 I'm so happy for you.
Put up a clothesline and the girls can hang their swimsuits on it instead of tossing them on the porch.
LOVE!!!
I loved your blog about the veil. Why did you delete it? Sad

Is your family Orthodox Christian? I noticed the Byzantine icons above the bed. If you are, that is really cool. God bless your wonderful family.
We are actually Catholic but there is a Byzantine Catholic Church about 30 minutes from our farm- I’ve been a few times and I was very interested! I love eastern Christian traditions.
No deadbolt? Really?
I don't see this lasting much longer!😲

Love it. Great tour, explanations. Did you all build it (if not, can you say who - I’m possibly interested)? Tks!
We didn't build it- it was here on our farm property when we arrived, but it has a stamp in the wood on the interior that says Conestoga Cabin! Good luck!
Works until the kids get older. I would need my privacy. There would be no baby making happening for me with the kids in the loft.😂
Are you guys Orthodox Christian, out of curiosity? I saw some icons.
You need so much more room for your family
Do you have a table to eat at?
For now we have an outdoor picnic table! :)
You live with 5 women in a 500 sq ft tiny home and you have your sanity. You should win a free 50 sq ft man cave.
This is nice but No privacy for your marriage bed. Temporary or not. Hopefully you guys get to have away time.
Oh, my. The teenage years are coming. Brace yourself.
Lol David we have an addition in the works so thankfully we won't be in here when these gals are teens! :)
@@groveladderfarm4105 Thank Heaven! A guy can't live in girl world forever, and those teen years will drive you nuts!
Is your husband single lol
No privacy for the parents. Not good. Kids will outgrown this arrangement before you know it, and all will hurry to leave home.
