Please do not apologize about “messy” - this tour has changed my life ... it is so refreshing to see real people give a real tour of a real house as it is!! Kids sitting around, walking in and out, stuff on top of dressers, art waiting to be hung. I love your house. (You should paint your headboard wall the same color as the wall behind it. It is such a gorgeous color and would cozy up your room with that beautiful bedspread color. Other than that - your house is perfect as is.) You should be proud - your house is such a home. Bravo. 🥰
Man! How refreshing to see a home with color and not "mininalist" and "scandi". 🤣🤣 I'm so sick of white, white, white and light wooden accents. Jeez. I love this!
I would agree, as I like warmer homes (i live in the mediterranean and nordic seems too cold for me) but this home its too much. So I rather live in a all natural wood home + white.

Good heavens....stop living in a Instagram/pinterest post, it feels beyond trendy, never a naturally developed aesthetic. You can still show personality, use color, and be minimalist. Those things aren't mutually exclusive....

And pretty huge in the US, too when you consider apartments that run from 750 sq. ft to 1100. Or regular older houses with 800 sq. ft. where families raised large families. I just pretty sick of this family. Always putting themselves up as role models like "wow, look how great we are for adopting. Look how great we are traveling in a $100,000 van in Europe." @@jebsmith323 maybe just like me loving house tours and get this recommended 😂 they seem very privileged to complain their house is tiny 🤔 when it's just normal
@@MsPandachen haah yes! Even in american tv shows like property brothers, they complain about not having a walking closet in like every room or "the kitchen is too small", even if it has the bigest fridge i've ever seen and an island. I mean, most of the times they are living in homes bigger than the average over here (which is like under a 1000sq feet/ 90 m2)

In Europe most apartments in a city are quite small. We know a family in Italy who had 3 boys and 1 bedroom. These boys slept in the living room all their lives. The youngest boy is 42. He has never had his own bed, not room bed! Most live like this in Europe.
We were 7 that lived in a 1100sq house & never felt it was small! We just felt more love & we were closer! They just care your all together & that you have given them a roof & lots of love over there heads! The place looks amazing!!!
Love grows best in little houses, with fewer walls to seperate. You all live so close together, you can't help but communicate. If you had more walls between you, think of all you'd miss - Love grows best in houses just like this ( a song I recall from many years ago.)
That's right. I grew up in a huge old house, which I loved, but the best memories were made in our beach bungalow that was always crowded with friends and family. I still miss it so much.
We're about to have 6 in 1,200 sq ft and have 2 bunk beds in an even smaller room. But this makes me feel less of the societal pressure to have a giant house for a big family!
I have a small 1100 square foot home that help build with habitat for humanity 20 yrs ago. Now I'm here with my 2 dogs and grandkids come over when my daughter works nights as a nurse. I love my little home. It's just right for me. It was great for my 2 adult kids when they lived here too.
I love seeing your personalities in this house, what a luxury to have the chance to try out both smaller living and some really fun decorating options. The rentals were clearly hemming your creativity in. I can't wait to see how it all translates to your renovation.
We bought a bed with deep drawers underneath which eliminated the need for dressers and made our bedroom feel much larger with more open floor space. I love what you’ve done to make this house a home for you. We raised 7 kids in a 1200 sq. ft. 1904 house, the unfinished attic was divided into two bedrooms, one for the boys and one for the girls with a small space between the two. A walk in closet (weird considering the rest was unfinished space) was made into a 1/2 bath so the boys would stop peeing out their bedroom window! I know, TMI. When the kids (all grown and gone) talk about the good ole days it’s the years spent in that house. Blessings.
In my mother's cabin the boys had contests who could pee the highest on the pope outside when the bathroom was occupied! It was 7 miles from the closest neighbors
Loved the little house tour. And I was so happy at the end to see how Eve’s speech is coming along. Hats off to you for persistently working with her. I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but I remember Megan saying she didn’t agree with the school’s assessment of Eve’s potential. Time will tell. Many blessings on your family.
Square foot per person is tiny, less than 150' is all the feels of it. I was just thinking our house was approaching that with 9 and 2,000sqft just over 200 per. But this is way smaller. Noise is the biggest problem for us.
My aunt has 9 kids and sometimes their 3000sq foot house feels small. 1350 for 9 people would feel tiny!! It’s the US- most ppl have MUCH bigger homes with MUCH fewer kids 😄
We have 10/11 (depending on when oldest is home from college) in 1400 square feet, but we kind of expanded by building a big loft for extra bed space. I rarely miss having more space. It works for us but isn't great for entertaining. Current "shelter-in-place" orders have made it seem more confined and cluttered. :)
We have 2400 sq ft and 9 people and that often feels too small. 1300 might not be “tiny” but as someone with a large family I really appreciated seeing how another large family did it in even a smaller space. Feels me not feel as cramped! Thank you opening your home to us.
I’m so thankful for your normal awesome home! We are a family of 6 living in 1200 sq ft. So it was fun to get ideas and also to know every home doesn’t have to be perfect! I think your house looks great! Love your creativity!
Re: the pink "night stands" - just flip them so that they are parallel to the bed rather than perpendicular - drawers facing out. I have done this before in a small bedroom. That way you'll be able to open the door and still use the top of the dresser from the bed. Just an idea.
I love this! Megan, you have said how you wanted a cozy home, well I think you have achieved that for sure! Just paint over your “unfinished” areas a they’ll be just fine till you tear them down for your “real” remodel. Very beautiful and eclectic home ❤️
Love this so much. We are a family of 8 in a 1100 sq ft home. 3 bedroom 2 bath. It's a constant process of re arranging and figuring out new ways to make us fit. It's really about finding the balance. I love how colorful your home is! It's beautiful!
Coming from a culture of not having huge houses (Greece) you have done a great job with the space. As for your bedroom its not a small room, you just have to declutter a bit,and paint the furniture in light colour ,it will make huge difference. Keep healthy xoxo
That living room color is on fire! I moved into my 2 bedroom after living tiny for 8 years. I was amazed how much stuff we collected so fast. I love the size and the money available
So very refreshing to see the renovations that made this house workable for the family, the casual and comfortable banter of the husband and wife and various children wandering in and out, the acceptance of small amounts of clutter. I love the colours, the way you used older furniture, rather than dismissing antiques & second hand. It comes together beautifully...your children are blessed!
For that little cabinet in the kitchen where the glass is broke, you could put chicken wire in it still see through it but it would have closure. Your house is absolutely beautiful!
I LOVE the reality of this video. The real life clutter and decisions that have to be made with so many kids. Thanks for not showing a "perfect" life. I actually love the bathroom with the green walls, the crewels and the cactus curtain.
Our house isn’t finished yet either. lol We have a 1976 no character 1,238 sq ft rectangle. We started remodeling back in July 2019, in the laundry room. Nothing is finished, almost all trim is gone, and so much more mudding to be done. We had to take the kitchen down to the studs and start over. It’s been a long time consuming project. And we reached a point back on October of “it’s all good”. We won’t force ourselves to resume until January. lol It’s amazing what you learn to live with. Life happens and as long as it is functional it’s all good. I can’t wait to add character into our house. I just have to get my husband on board for some darker colors. And by darker I mean anything darker than beige. 😂
Your house looks great and functional. It’s super cute. Reminds me of the house I grew up in, large family, house always needing projects to be finished but didn’t matter, was homey and home. Thanks for a real house tour. It’s how it goes with big families. I LOVE your home. Looks artsy, he decor is wonderful
For the uk the parents room is a good sized room. I wouldn’t have considered it small! there is always a “box room” in uk houses and they normally can only fit a single bed inside. :)
That “we have 7 dishwashers” joke is why I refuse to live without an automatic dishwasher. Of course I was the oldest girl in a large family with hired hands and cousins often eating. I washed too many dishes in my life. BTW I like your sense of style. I think the house looks cool !
Love your little house, well done ❤️ you’ve managed to stay within the mid century vibe and modernized it. The colors, design, accessibility, circulation and functionality were all well thought of, and I can feel this project was brought to life with lots of love, care, and devotion, enough to beat all the challenges involved. Your choice of colors are fun and eye catching, yet lovely and comfortable. Wallpaper bit adds a playful important tease, I’m not too sure about the dining room curtain, but overall, there’s so much rhythm that I can hear it with a soft warm whisper. CONGRATS for all the wonderful spaces you’ve created. 🌹🌹🌹
The master is big. They have big furniture. I think they're just comparing it to the house they used to have. I like how they opened everything up. I think it's too bad they don't finish their projects, but I guess if they're tearing more walls down it doesn't matter too much. The mom needs to simplify her stuff though. She joked about minimalists in the video, but you can get rid of junk and not be a minimalist.
It’s actually not small. It’s a pretty average size house in the US. I live in the suburbs and my house is smaller than this and I never considered it to be “small”, just has a poor layout.
I grew up in a family of 8. 5 kids, 2 parents and one grandparent in a 1000 square foot home with one bath and it was completely normal. This home looks spacious to me.
Absolutely love the house and how you've decorated. Personally, I'd forego the big reno and stick to smaller projeycts like making the half bath into a full one. Kids move out and one day the house will have plenty of room. But I love your decorating style!
I completely agree! By the time it's done, most kiddos will be grown and have a place of their own. And God forbid that anyone has arthritis with stairs! :)
I love it! So creative .We went from a 2500 square foot to a 1 bed room RV that we remodeled our self now that our kids are all adults and we absolutely love it.Your home is beautifull thank you for sharing
I love your home. It is inspiring to others that you don't have to have lots of money to make a home for your family. It doesn't have to be huge with high ceiling and fancy new furnishings. I have so many favorites. Great job you guys!
My house is 1300 sq ft. and I had a family of 5. It was fine. I’m glad to see a video with someone living in a small single family home. Most of the houses on UA-cam are 2 story.
I’ve never related to a family so much. We also have murals, thrifted finds, outside laundry, never ending projects and a big family in our tiny home 🥰
Most of the kids will probably not live there in a few years. I would extend out the kitchen, bedrooms with bigger closets and bathrooms, extra room for whatever, build a garage with a work room, etc. When you get older you will really appreciate a one story house plan.
I agree - and a one story will get you premium for resale should you ever decide to move. They are getting harder and harder to find. The builders only want to build two story.
I don’t understand the logic that families can cope with a tiny house once their kids move out - I would always want room for all of my kids to be able to come and stay! and eve and Jude will still be there for more than 10 years,
I love the creativity, and cosy warmth you have created. I think my favorite is the hallway painting. I think you have a great outlook, enjoy your home and exploring creatively with it. Looks like you made a cramped blocky space into a very functional and cheerful living space! It’s like a completely different and more appealing house to me! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love that you guys are so happy in a small space and aren’t like tipple you tubers who buy MANSIONS. You guys are close as a family and happy in your little space, goals!
I must say this is the most amazing house I have ever seen, I am an artist and the amazing colors, yellow sofa, bedspread and All the gorgeous pictures, retro, chic, 70s ! Wow! Love the plqce!
The jewel tone color palettes you’ve used in this house are so beautiful... You truly are talented! And... I can’t believe how much Eve has grown! She really is becoming a lovely young lady! Luv to you all!
Have you considered putting your bed under the window and doing a wall of wardrobes on the other wall. Then you could expand your bathroom by adding a shower in part of the existing closet.
This is real, and I appreciate it. I think so many of us have homes just like this one. A constant work in progress. Also, don't feel bad if it's messy. You live there! Most of us have messes everywhere because we just live in our homes. Love this video.
When did 1300 sq ft become "tiny living"? I suppose it's relative to the size of your family but MOST people couldn't afford a house with more than 4 bedrooms for a family of 11 anyway.
I love the feel and charm of your house. It has so much personality. I’m doing DIY in my house and I get how long things take and how draining they are but man it’s so worth it
I love this! We are downsizing soon for my husband to start his own business and now I feel like we can totally do it.
It's not a house but a home full of love..so cozy..I love the mural..I love the home..
We have 2400 sq ft and 9 people and that often feels too small. 1300 might not be “tiny” but as someone with a large family I really appreciated seeing how another large family did it in even a smaller space. Feels me not feel as cramped! Thank you opening your home to us.
It's good to see Eve and Daniel. I feel like we have missed seeing the kids a lot recently. The house is cute!
I think you did a great job of making the house livable and functional for this time for your family.
You can paint the back to coordinate with the hallway mural! Or cheap sticky back mirrors or more peel and stick marble paper😉
Tapestries are your friend for the unfinished wall in the bedroom 👍
I love every inch of y'alls home & I love y'alls family. Lived in homes are the greatest homes on earth! Live & love life in Christ till He comes.
I love this! Megan, you have said how you wanted a cozy home, well I think you have achieved that for sure! Just paint over your “unfinished” areas a they’ll be just fine till you tear them down for your “real” remodel. Very beautiful and eclectic home ❤️
Good to see others using hand me down thriftier things like I do! Good luck to your family as you can see and hear the love!
Asher is rocking that longer hair. Ya'll have great hair really
Love this so much. We are a family of 8 in a 1100 sq ft home. 3 bedroom 2 bath. It's a constant process of re arranging and figuring out new ways to make us fit. It's really about finding the balance. I love how colorful your home is! It's beautiful!
I’m laughing the way they said Eve would always stare at Pearl. That is hilarious, she had to hang a cover
Little sisters can be so annoying!
I’m in loveeee with the way you decorated, especially the bathroom. So so cute.
I really love that you use so much color in your house and I love all the paintings.
Love the green tile. We had that in an older home and that retro look worked. Old is new in my world.
I love everything about your house because it’s full of love
Coming from a culture of not having huge houses (Greece) you have done a great job with the space. As for your bedroom its not a small room, you just have to declutter a bit,and paint the furniture in light colour ,it will make huge difference. Keep healthy xoxo
I also love a "cluttered" look. It's organized clutter. I love to see my things. I also enjoy that your home is colorful.
That living room color is on fire! I moved into my 2 bedroom after living tiny for 8 years. I was amazed how much stuff we collected so fast. I love the size and the money available
Meagan “We all shower in here”
Mike “All at the same time”
HAHAHA I caught that
So very refreshing to see the renovations that made this house workable for the family, the casual and comfortable banter of the husband and wife and various children wandering in and out, the acceptance of small amounts of clutter. I love the colours, the way you used older furniture, rather than dismissing antiques & second hand. It comes together beautifully...your children are blessed!
I just found this Chanel. The adorable daughter at the end. I’m melting. The boys. Good video all around!
For that little cabinet in the kitchen where the glass is broke, you could put chicken wire in it still see through it but it would have closure. Your house is absolutely beautiful!
You can get oblong glass to fit behind then secure with fasteners !
I LOVE the reality of this video. The real life clutter and decisions that have to be made with so many kids. Thanks for not showing a "perfect" life. I actually love the bathroom with the green walls, the crewels and the cactus curtain.
I love your stove, the burners, and the bathroom tile. These are the best things about old houses that I often see people replacing. Amazing!
I LOVE the original tile on the walls and floor in the main bath!!!
The open shelf’s looks pretty with the dishes stacked up neatly love it
Our house isn’t finished yet either. lol We have a 1976 no character 1,238 sq ft rectangle.
I don't have a box room as such in my house, it's like a rectangle I guess
Love your home and realness! You can see that fun and practicality radiates through each space. That’s life with a big family and I love it!
This is just fun love. It doesn’t matter, you’re all together and that’s all those kids want.
I simply love the ecclectic style and the mix of colours in your house. ❤️😍
I feel this is is super small for a American house but by uk standards the rooms seem pretty big to me 😂
Nah this is pretty big
It's standard
I can’t even dream of living in a home this big 😂
I think your home looks and feels warm cozy and welcoming! No it is not perfect but there is love and it shows!💕
Your home is beautifully lived in. I love the color in your home.
Some of these comments... what happened to ‘if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all’ - just let these people build their dream house!
Just rewatched this video so i can fully appreciate it all when the reno is done 🎉
Love love love all the arts hung up everywhere and albums, gives major gallery/museum vibes
I love your home. It is inspiring to others that you don't have to have lots of money to make a home for your family. It doesn't have to be huge with high ceiling and fancy new furnishings. I have so many favorites. Great job you guys!
I think the outside shed laundry is AWESOME!!!!!
My house is 1300 sq ft. and I had a family of 5. It was fine. I’m glad to see a video with someone living in a small single family home. Most of the houses on UA-cam are 2 story.
Yes I saw you move the bedroom door! You guys have done very well! Great job! God Bless your family!
I’ve never related to a family so much. We also have murals, thrifted finds, outside laundry, never ending projects and a big family in our tiny home 🥰
I love how you have decorated this house with the pictures.
Your clutter is very well organized and color coordinated- staging like that is a gift that most don't have naturally.
The house is too small for 9people.
They are going to tare down the inside in about 18 mo's this is temp to get them by. Its not a 10 year project. 3-5 yr project
I was thinking the same... and the kids will be growing up and moving on in the blink of an eye - or so it seemed to me...
I love how you reno and deco your house 🏠 ❤ home sweet 🏡
It’s refreshing and wonderful to see such a creative, colorful home 😊
I prefer smaller houses and I love your color choices! Just found your channel, I am looking forward to watching more
Mike has always been funny on the vlogs but over time his humor has come out even more and I love it!
Eve is getting cuter and cuter as the days go by. Love how she has her hair done.
I love that you guys are so happy in a small space and aren’t like tipple you tubers who buy MANSIONS. You guys are close as a family and happy in your little space, goals!
😍 What a cute home! The color scheme is beautiful and so is all the art!
I must say this is the most amazing house I have ever seen, I am an artist and the amazing colors, yellow sofa, bedspread and All the gorgeous pictures, retro, chic, 70s ! Wow! Love the plqce!
So fun to see what you've done, I love how homey and welcoming your house is now.
Great idea!
Exactly words have definitions and 1300 sq ft for a house is not tiny
I love the feel and charm of your house. It has so much personality. I’m doing DIY in my house and I get how long things take and how draining they are but man it’s so worth it
I missed you all!!😇🥰
I love this! We are downsizing soon for my husband to start his own business and now I feel like we can totally do it. You guys really inspire me to live the kind of life I want to, without regard to what is “normal”. Love it! Can’t wait for your next video because I didn’t realize you still planned on gutting this house. Exciting stuff!
