A full tuned focus st big turbo with full bolt on is faster. Fwd is always better because its 600lbs lighter!! Awd is to heavy its emberacing with over 500 whp is only able this much. Focus st big turbo does this with only 330whp!!

Personally I think Mountune is making this car safe to drive and safe for the engine to run, instead of making 1000HP and blows up. Its probably eazy for mountune to make it go more than 1000HP but if it can only stand one run, what is the point then right?

I wouldnt boast the "Worlds Quickest" with an 11 sec pass i had an escort zx2 that was just as fast as that. Though i will say thats a solid pass. Keep pushing faster.
Not knocking that but look at a 1990s DSM. The red 2G was literally the worlds quickest stick shift street car until this last year. That's almost a 45 year old 2.0L!
I had a Ford RS500 and took it to Mountune and said I’ve got a budget of 8,000 pounds I want this to be fast and don’t forget this is 1987 so 8k was a lot of money around 25k I said I want the works ! Well they gave me the dyno sheet it was nearly 500 bhp , newECU mapping with high pressure cooling system braided hosing everywhere , turbo work , handmade straight through exhaust , head with wills rings so no head gasket and long bolts to tighten it down different fuelling , pump to stop oil surge of tracked it works rally car brakes and pads new bbs wheels and lots of other goodies . It was phenomenal faster than my Porsche turbo and a top speed of 185 mph with a different final drive and gear ratios . Every gear change was like a shotgun going off with accompanying flame up and down gears but down they were like a flamethrower ! Nothing beat me in that car and a while later when I’d sold it a guy phoned me up and did all his mates Ferraris were getting left standing by this Ford 😂I told him Mountune did the mods but it wasn’t just a chip this was an engine rebuild virtually . I had some serious fun in that car and when my wife borrowed it I had three stage switch so that I could wind it down to standard . The most momentous moment was another Porsche turbo and a brand new M5 BMW which I left for dead and his mates took the piss out of him for forever for that beating as he thought he was boss !! 😂 I was so a rally driver with a 6R4 Group B car and in 1990 won the championship in uk on tarmac with 10 victories . I’ll never forget his face as we both stopped at a petrol station in Swindon Wiltshire . Mountune are amazing and that car never gave me any trouble or breakdowns typical of highly tuned cars . I was lucky enough to have a Porsche 911 cabriolet as my daily and the aforementioned Porsche Turbo my wife drove .

I’ve driven my sons 2016 RS; it has 412 hp. Pulls pretty good, but what really makes it quick is the 4 wheel drive coming out of the hole. It’s almost like cheating.
Did this have the original crank or did it get the keyed version? I'm about to get my 500+whp set up finished and i decided not to run the keyed crank/wheel, as i heard as long as you're not running a lightweight pulley, you should be okay as far as timing goes. I was looking at the Mountune short block option..but decided to just rebuild my 2.0l (2016 Focus ST) with forged parts. Either way that was a great launch and the fire looks pretty cool too 😎
Nice, but once you start going the built engine route, I need to see a bit better than that, full interior, once you start introducing more anything other than 93 octane pump gas. I come from the Impeza RS, WRX, and STi world from 2001-2007. That's not slow, but way too much money to spend for that result. 2 thumbs up for showing the mods and not running race fuel or NOS.
I can’t believe how much effort this took. I thought for sure this chassis would be so much more potent. I have a MK7 Golf R, yes it’s DSG which makes a huge difference. But, I’m stock turbo, stock engine, stock everything with just a piggyback, full exhaust, intercooler, meth and straight 93 octane and I run consistent 11.5-11.6 in the quarter. I mean your trap speed is absolutely cookin! I trap around 118mph but still I thought it would be so much quicker. With these same extensive modifications on the MK7 chassis they are already deep into the 9’s, almost 8’s.
I had a mk2 golf gti that i swapped in 1.8 turbo and a did a load of work on and it only cost about £7000 and it would run low 12`s on a non prepared surface with street tyres . This seems a bit slow to say it probably cost about £50000
Needs a better tune. 3800DA should still be able to manage 10s with a 7163. Also why even do all of that to a stock sleeve 2.3 and also knowing that block is very weak. Why not a 2.0 block with 2.3 internals?
I know the RS is on Mountunes MRX 71 63 Turbo, but doesn’t anyone know if it retains the Twin Scroll Design of the original Turbo? From the images I can see, it looks like a Regular 4 Exhaust into 1, into the Turbo. I ask because this is the biggest Turbo I can find for the RS 71 63, but I think it would be even more badass and responsive on the low end rpms with the Twin Scroll design that would make it close to the best choice for Turbos.

i mean they had a focus running low 9s but it had the frame. everything else was changed. so with that frame. a turbo can only do so much. i dont know the build exactly. but you cant push a street car with that weight with a engine swap with a bay like that. the only big things you can really do are bolt ons. with dont do much. and adding a bigger turbo to push more psi. but its gonna cost alot more money to have engine take that much boost.
i still prefer the mk2 RS over the new one, the 2.5 5 cylinder sounds great, and its better looking, and the 500 version, has the same power as the new one

Also they forgot to mention it's been on a diet - all the seats have been removed (and god knows what else), you can't see a single seat head rest other than the drivers.

You just have to compare it to 6 speed golf R’s. the DSG changes everything esp high power levels. Literally changes everything.
