We’re always testing and validating engine upgrades and here we have an all DI solution in development for the 2.0L and 2.3L Ford Ecoboost. This E30 run on an EFR 8374 Turbo with our MRX cylinder head and built engine is at 684hp! Is this the highest all DI 4 cylinder ever? Thanks to our tech partner @xtreme.di for the great components. Got that dog in me
I had a Ford RS500 and took it to Mountune and said I’ve got a budget of 8,000 pounds I want this to be fast and don’t forget this is 1987 so 8k was a lot of money around 25k I said I want the works ! Well they gave me the dyno sheet it was nearly 500 bhp , newECU mapping with high pressure cooling system braided hosing everywhere , turbo work , handmade straight through exhaust , head with wills rings so no head gasket and long bolts to tighten it down different fuelling , pump to stop oil surge of tracked it works rally car brakes and pads new bbs wheels and lots of other goodies . It was phenomenal faster than my Porsche turbo and a top speed of 185 mph with a different final drive and gear ratios . Every gear change was like a shotgun going off with accompanying flame up and down gears but down they were like a flamethrower ! Nothing beat me in that car and a while later when I’d sold it a guy phoned me up and did all his mates Ferraris were getting left standing by this Ford 😂I told him Mountune did the mods but it wasn’t just a chip this was an engine rebuild virtually . I had some serious fun in that car and when my wife borrowed it I had three stage switch so that I could wind it down to standard . The most momentous moment was another Porsche turbo and a brand new M5 BMW which I left for dead and his mates took the piss out of him for forever for that beating as he thought he was boss !! 😂 I was so a rally driver with a 6R4 Group B car and in 1990 won the championship in uk on tarmac with 10 victories . I’ll never forget his face as we both stopped at a petrol station in Swindon Wiltshire . Mountune are amazing and that car never gave me any trouble or breakdowns typical of highly tuned cars . I was lucky enough to have a Porsche 911 cabriolet as my daily and the aforementioned Porsche Turbo my wife drove .

Who actually races in turns in a city ? Most people never use awd like they think they will , it just sounds nice

Would really like to see an option of the 2019-2023 Ranger! The block is a bit different, however the internal components should be similar. Easy transition for an additional market! Ill be your guinea pig and promotor! At the moment I am E50, 57mm turbo and FBO around 400hp. This would be the next logical step. :-)

What’s the power output?
Did this have the original crank or did it get the keyed version? I'm about to get my 500+whp set up finished and i decided not to run the keyed crank/wheel, as i heard as long as you're not running a lightweight pulley, you should be okay as far as timing goes. I was looking at the Mountune short block option..but decided to just rebuild my 2.0l (2016 Focus ST) with forged parts. Either way that was a great launch and the fire looks pretty cool too 😎

Just fitted this and screws I was provided to fit the MAF sensor were too small. Luckily, I had some others that fit in my random screw collection. Other than that, nice and easy to fit and in my first quick drive sounds much nicer than the older mountune kit - much more sucky and whooshy!

I wonder how this would compare to the itg intake. It sits behind the headlight nearly eliminating all possibilities of heat soak. This kit looks much nicer though in the engine bay.

@@Inactiveaccount358 as I said, I had spoken with them and was just following on from their instruction. Just because I have a revo map, it doesn't mean I can't like their products still. I already have a few Mountune parts on my car including the airbox and filter. Just because not EVERYTHING is Mountune, doesn't mean I don't like their stuff.

This looks like a very inventive way of increasing the cooling capacity supporting the rather undersized OEM intercooler. However I am concerned about increasing turbo lag in a noticeable way. Were there any pressure drop measurements performed with this solution? Anything you can share about the product?
Would be nice to have an answer to this from @mountune. I‘m gonna install mine tomorrow. We will see.

@@peterszeles2321Alright. I installed it today together with the Mountune/NGK Iridium spark plugs and and oil change after 1400km since new. I have the M330 and the Mountune air filter installed since around 700km. The car is pulling hard! It pulled already hard with the M330 and the filter, but now it feels a bit more refined I would say. No turbo lag or any changes how the turbo builds up boost. Feels like a very well engineered and complete package. 330 PS is in my opinion perfect for this FWD fun tool. Regarding the oil - I switched to ROWE Hightech RS 0W40 which is a much better oil for the 2,3 EcoBoost instead of the 0W30 from factory.

What’s that easiest way to remove the charge pipe clips. I live in the US and the maverick uses the same clips on the intercooler. I’m upgrading mine and I have no idea how to remove them. I wish the US companies made something like this for the maverick. I literally had to cut most of the bottom shroud away. Such a pain in the butt .Any advice would be great.
