I’m 67 and have taken a TRT shot weekly since I was 51. I get a physical and blood work every year. I do also work out and stay active. I donate blood every 6 months to keep my blood from getting too thick. My diet consists of at least 90 grams of protein a day and a lot of salads. My doctor says I should keep doing what I’m doing because I’m in better shape than her average 35 years old patient. Thank you for this video.
@@amohsen9848 Gonads will get smaller because your T is now coming from outside sources. So your nads don't need to work as hard to produce it. But if your T level is low and you are not feeling well, who cares about the size of your testicles? If you take the prescribed dose they won't shrink that much, but they will get a little smaller.
@@amohsen9848If you don’t want to have the shrinkage, then you need to take hcg. I don’t, but also don’t care that much. Only negative for me is that I’m an addict and at home bodybuilder so I often want to abuse it which can lead to abnormalities in bloodwork like hair loss and high estrogen conversion leading to gyno. If you can handle jabbing yourself with a needle (I use a 29g insulin pin) then there aren’t too many issues. It’s definitely worth it if you have the actual need for it like I do.
TRT saved me I had hypogonadism. Severe chronic fatigue, depression, sadness etc I accept any side effects considering how bad my mental/physical and emotional state was.
Self Inject Testosterone every two weeks since 2015 and No issues or problems, mid week levels when tested always 5-600 total. Totally happy after years of suffering
@@kuyab9122 For me I breakout in Hives with the Gel or Patch from one of the ingredients used to facilitate absorption. I don't mind the self-injecting each thigh every other week and it keep my levels very regular.
Sometimes I just want to shake people that don't realize this. Every medicine has side-effects. The idea is that the cure is much less damaging than the disease. That's why doctors always ask if you are allergic.
WHEW!! This video is great news for me since I've been on TRT for the past year. I've experienced some really great benefits and would like to continue treatment, so I'm glad that it isn't going to pose a risk to my heart. Excellent video, Rena. Keep up the great work!
I've been on TRT for yrs and my levels are around 1,000 I am also on a meats, eggs (yes the whole egg), fruits, honey, and the good healthy fats (Raw Butter, Ghee Butter, or Beef Tallow) And I get blood work regularly and my health and numbers are great!
Im 46 been on TRT for 3 years now , one of the best decisions i have ever made . No more depression, feel amazing started working out again. Facts are most General Drs. Do not know enough about TRT.
I am 41 and had zero sex drive, low energy, and difficulties with anxiety and depression. My testosterone levels were 150ng/dl. Way too low. TRT has given me more energy, brought back my sex drive, and stopped the anxiety and depression (it’s like when i feel bad, my confidence quickly overwhelms the bad feeling). It has been life changing for me.
Me too! I will not stop taking it, that's how great I feel. I went to a wellness clinic and they did all the bloodwork and counseling. I tried several different GP and they all kept telling me my testosterone was not "that low". The only negative I see is insurance will not cover it, you have to pay the wellness clinic out of pocket. In FL it's about $140 month. I am 60 years old and have been on TRT for almost a year.
@@dirtwhisperer658 so I’m gonna give you a bit of a pro tip here. I went to GP for a decade with low T symptoms and test results. No treatment given. Then i went to the outside clinic, paid a boatload for the treatment, and at the end of my treatment period decided to go back to the GP to see if i could get it under insurance. Well, my GP wasn’t too keen but since i was on it and refusing to get off, he sent me to an endocrinologist. Again, she didn’t want to treat me at first and wanted me to get off, but i refused. So i asked her if she could help me adjust my levels to a safe amount, because “the clinic doesn’t know how to do it right and i need your help.” You gotta stroke those doctors egos. Doctors have the biggest egos and are sometimes outright narcissists. Anyway this did the trick. She started adjusting my levels, and giving me prescriptions. It took a little bit to get all the right types of needles and medications, because the clinics are actually pretty good at giving the right stuff and the doctors don’t really know. But i just gently guide to the right stuff, and boom, insurance is covering my TRT now. This isn’t going to work if you aren’t already on TRT because none of the GP will initiate care. They’ve been brainwashed to do as little care as possible to keep costs down and prevent lawsuits. “When you give treatment there is always risk of injury” is what ive heard GPs say, and it is true. Think about it, noone with low t is going to die and no one with low t will sue for negligent care. Trt is a quality of life treatment. But incorrect use or trt is a risk of injury, death, infection, etc. So no GP is going to initiate TRT because in their mind no trt, no risk of injury(lawsuit!).
@ayo9057 you make that comment without even knowing why i have low T. I have a testicular defect. what is my other option? Have low AF T for the rest of my life? Not my fault I was born with a testicular defect. And not something I can change. Tell ya what, why don’t you invent a new treatment that regenerates my defective testicle? I would be glad to have such a treatment available. It is hormone replacement therapy, not giving steroid like levels of T. My T is now in the normal 350-500 ng/dl range. I take a very small dose of .13ml twice a week. Do you know how much bodybuilders use? 1-3ml a week. And have T in the 3000-4000 ng/dl level. It’s no wonder steroids are so dangerous for your health. But TRT just tries to mimick the natural level of 300-900 ng/dl.
As a man who has been following your channel for some time now, I just want to say thank you so much for all that you do to help try to keep us healthy! By the way, I'm also a 55-year-old man who has been on TRT for about 10 years now and it's definitely changed my life for the better!
I am 65 and have been on TRT for ten years. My initial level was 117 , not good. Now my level is at 600. One Doctor told me that I could not take testosterone, I got a lady Doctor who said take your medicine.
I literally thought I was dying at the age of 29. Sick. After COUNTLESS specialists (cardiologists mostly) they concluded nothing was wrong with me. Yay. Except I felt like ass every single day. Finally I went the “functional medicine” route where they tested my total t which came back in the 200s. I got 4 tests in total and after diet change, HCG for a month, etc I only got it up to 338. I got approved for TRT, I take a SPLIT dose of only 150MPG twice per week. So 2 shots of 75. Now I hover in the 900s total t and after 6 months I finally got my life back. Went back to gym and I haven’t seen progress in muscle mass/strength like this in my entire life. I hate to say it but even if TRT lead to a shorter life, I’ll take it. I’d rather have a great shorter life than one feeling like ass for longer.
Elders, men and womenn, are generaly low in DHEA as well. I started on about 200 micrograms of that as well. I got many of the benifits of T. I added T later and did even better. 75 YO male. Felt better on DHEA, much better on +T and lost weight and improved HbA1C. Also lost carb cravings and started favoring lots of meat in my diet. I feel like i did at 35 again. Move better too!
I'm 52 and have been on TRT for about a year now after discovering my Total T was in mid 300s and free and available T numbers were in the lower 1 percentile. This has been life changing in many positive ways. My libido is back where it was when I was in my 20s and I recover from workouts crazy fast now. I also had generalized anxiety disorder and panic issues since I was in my early 30s, that's now mostly gone. My sleep apnea has worsened but my CPAP therapy has corrected for this. Guys my age start losing muscle (sarcopenia) but I'm progressively building mass month over month and I feel better overall than I have in decades My Total T is now in high 600's to low 700s. If you are 50+ and having similar issues I definitely recommend getting your T checked out!
I have untreated severe sleep apnea (can't tolerate Cpap, won't do Inspire, long story) which is severely ruining my life. I was kind of hoping TRT would HELP my fatigue due to my sleep apnea. It sounds like it could get worse on TRT? I find it hard to believe I could feel much worse day to day than I currently do but that what it sounds like per your post. p.s....I'm 10 yrs older than you
I've had good sleep results taking 300 MG of magnesium glycinate (that's that highest quality type), taken before bedtime. Works well, and I've had apnea issues in past.
@@usaman7358look into non sedatives like zinc, magnesium etc and rather than Cpap look into dental devices, dentist supply and fight them. They basically hood the bottom jaw slightly forward stopping the obstruction(absolute life savers for those who can’t take Cpap) also mouth taping and nasal breathing can be a big help along with chewing devices to help strengthen the slack muscle. Weight loss and obviously some form of exercise
@@usaman7358it took me a year to adjust to the CPAP mask and finally sleep with it on. I tried 8 different masks before i found one that worked. Before that I would just lay awake for hours. Don’t give up! The cpap works! I am on trt as well, and yes it does make sleep apnea worse, so make sure you are well treated by the cpap. I can’t sleep without the cpap. I would die.
Thank you, I am 69 but when I was 66 I had a heart valve replacement. Surgery went great and all was good. About three months after surgery I went into AFib. To make a long story short I had my testosterone tested and it came back 56. My heart doctor would not put me on testosterone. AFib was killing me. Went to another doctor he put me on 100 a week. Well my AFib went away within a couple of days. Again thank you.
I also recently had a heart valve replacement and I'm regularly in AFib. I would like to see if TRT could help me. Thank you for writing this and wishing you continued good health.
Thank you once again Dr. Malik, for a very concise & informative video. I appreciate the transparency about the drug manufacturer's involvement in this study. Having worked in the pharmacy biz for 26 years, I have seen a LOT of smoke & mirrors when it comes to "dispensing" REAL information about drug efficacy, side effects and potential long-term harm. Caveat emptor
With it being exploited on the internet and a TRT center on every corner...it is being abused by healthy people as an alternative to steroids and it's not as effective and has deadly side effects...being a natural bodybuilder is more rewarding and a lot healthier then cheating.with a drug..and future problems ..TRT is designed for people that really need it..with low T ( under 200) with low energy and low libido.
I completely agree that TRT should be taken seriously and not obtained just for the sake of it or to claim natural status. It is becoming a prevalent trend where every man thinks they need TRT, when in reality, they need to focus on improving their diet and exercising regularly.
yeah it's a very scary thing how trendy it's become. young people are running stacks of 3-5 dangerous drugs at a time, for nothing other than looking good on Instagram. young men AND women doing it. I started last year at 34. Through my 20's I always wanted to do steroids but I told myself "at least wait until 35-40". Alas I finally started at 34 and loving it. monitoring my health closely
I just recently saw a urologist for low T (332 ng/dl). He doesn't want to jump into testosterone replacement because of the risks of blood clots, stroke and prostate cancer. He also said that it's always better if you can produce more of your own test rather than taking a synthetic drug. He put me on Clomid (25mg every other day) and we'll do blood work in 3 months and see if there is any change. I wish the FDA would approve Enclomiphene Citrate (1 part of Clomid) as a mono therapy. Clomid also contains Zuclomiphene Citrate which is very estogenic and may be responsible for most of the side effects.
Trt gave me my life back. At 38 my test was 218. I had all the symptoms. 250ml proprionate weekly keeps me at around 800 now. I get full labs done every 9 months and my doctor works with me on my protocol. My wife loves it too 😁
250mg a week only puts you at 800? I know everyone is different but this is a high dose for trt. Are you injecting once per week and testing at trough?
@@jimg6970 I micro dose every day with insulin Syringe bc prop is a fast Ester. I won't dose day of the blood work. Test usually comes back 800-900. Rare over 1000. You're right everyone is different. A few buddies of mine take 200mg of cypionate or enanthate and they're at the same levels as me and feel great. I had water retention with a bloated look on cyp and enan. Prop was the best change for me. I feel and look so much better with it and 250ml weekly is my sweet spot.
My Test level was 173 when I started TRT. The truth is T is a life changer. It is a massive antidepressant and helps the body heal not just the mind. It definitely increased libido and confidence. Unlike the stigma you don’t go around the beach kicking sand on people’s faces, rather you become calmer and nicer as less things get to you. Starting TRT had effects I never could have imagined. I did it to help me heal from car accidents I had been stuck in and couldn’t heal from for two years. But everything else it did was more than I could have hoped for!
At the age of 30 my t levels suddenly went off balance. At first I noticed frequently occuring erections. Some time after they got constant from time to time. Physical activity or even heavy lifting wouldn't soothe it. Then I tried watching porn and mastrubations . Horrible thing is I mastrubated 10 times in session that did not put end to this arousal . This nightmare lasted for 2 weeks on average. I saw a lot of gray hair and receding hair line and more body hair. Erections were also accompanied with sweating , fever and heartbeat. After 3 years of these fits I developed hypertension, extra weight and nausia with enlarged liver, pancreas and spleen. Never took any test for t levels , but had few occasions of hair falling out
I'm 53 and have been on TRT for about 20 years. I still have Drs. tell me how unsafe it is, and that I'm going to have cardiovascular problems. Of course, these same Drs. have nothing to tell me about the cardiovascular impact of the experimental gene therapy made so popular recently, and mandated for me as a government employee. Resonable testosterone replacement is an old and tested therapy, and I think it's one of the best medical decisions I've ever made.
Sorry, but this is completely contrary to my experience. I took shots for a few months back in 2019. My blood pressure shot up to very high levels and I developed an irregular heart beat. I went off testosterone and my blood pressure returned to normal and I haven't had any issues with an irregular heart rate since.
My Healthy Aging Medical Center doctor told my over 7 years ago that T was safe if taken properly and within recommended doses. He kept up with all of the peer reviewed studies and touted it was safe despite no final formal large study was yet concluded. All I can say is that it lowered my lipids tremendously without the need for medication that adversely affects the liver. The only lipid it did not reduce was Lipoprotein a (LPa) which is genetically high in my family. Testosterone keeps the lean muscle mass as we age and keeps our strength up. Before I started taking it, my T levels were very low and I was so lethargic, I could not go on a long vacation over seas. Now, at age 71 I can do 50 pushups using handgrips to put my chest down to the floor. My PSA has actually gone down from 1.9 to 1.2 to 1.5. I was not surprised after reading this study when it first came out.
I’m 42. I’ve been on TRT for a little over 2 years. Took my T levels from low 200’s to high 700’s. I lost 10 lbs. got noticeably more muscular in my traps, shoulders and pecks. I’ve had depression issues since my early twenties. They are completely gone. I’m literally in a great mood all year round. My bloodwork every 6 months is great except a slight elevation in cholesterol (Nothing serious). And last but not least my sex drive is awesome, solid erections, etc…
I have been using testosterone since 25. So about 15 years now. Personally I never got it through the doctor. I do get full bloodwork done each year. My last bloodwork had my testosterone at 1500 which is lower than what I used to run it at. My free testosterone was 780. I also run primo e 600mgs a week with the test normally but that doesn’t change testosterone levels. I have healed injuries that would have required surgery because of this. Yeah it’s been a life saver for me. I prefer testosterone propionate. That’s why I don’t use the doctor for my testosterone. It gives me less water retention and I feel way better on that ester than any other. You do have to pin every other day though since half life is 24-48 hours. Zero issues there though. Glad to see people finally realize testosterone doesn’t kill you like the rest of us knew a decade ago
@@shawnmartin1306 Dude…this isn’t TRT. This is just using steroids. TRT is “REPLACEMENT THERAPY” hence the name. At 25 you’re not hypogonadal. You’re just juicing bro.
@@KingWings I know. Years ago I did a couple cycles…not my best thinking. A level of 1500 is way beyond necessary. It’s actually well above a high normal reading. Bottom line, there’s a bunch of meat heads and “bro science” out there. I’ve been a pharmacist for 30 years. At least back when I ran those two cycles….I was working with a degree in pharmacy to navigate the process. Most these guys pinning Test and the like just read something on the internet (if they even do that), and they think they know what they’re talking about. Many of them cause themselves irreversible damage. The guy above has undoubtedly damaged his HPTA system beyond repair. Now he’s stuck shooting “gear” for the rest of his life, lest he be willing to go through being hypogonadal forever.
@@tommydinob I’m 39 now and besides any anti aging clinic would have diagnosed me with low testosterone. Especially nowadays I know guys who are under 25 getting TRT. At this point what is the difference? Anti aging clinic will give you as much as you want. They gave my buddy testosterone, deca and Anavar. Legit clinic with actual doctors prescribe more than I actually use. I just am using Testosterone that’s it on low dose.
So what about the information we always hear about shrinkage in the Penis and nuts. I read you could take something to offset that. But is that a factor to consider.
My doctor made me stop my testosterone therapy due to my prostate cancer. They said that it makes it grow. Does this new study shed any light on prostate cancer?
The only negative issue health wise for men about testosterone is that it excellerates Prostate cancer! I found that out the hard way with prostatectomy! 💪mrwtby
Im a 63 yr old male, with all the symptoms of low T. I have been TRT for about 7 months now, I am on the cream and i have seen a big difference, it totally changed everything in my life stye now, I've had heard all different stories about TRT, but this is a big relief on my thoughts on it now, I'll definitely be on it now for life.
@@usaman7358 more energy, quicker weightloss, higher sex drive, less depression, for shorter periods of time, enhanced muscle growth and strength. For people who actually need it, it is amazing. Awesome. Now they need to do women. TRT is still niot accepted by insurance for women despite significant evidence of benefit. So long as we keep calling T the "male hormone" women will suffer. Yet healthy young women have six times.more T than E unless they are pregnant.
I suffer from low testosterone, and every two weeks, I get an injection , my beef is they have classified it as controlled substance which has jacked up the cost of it , what would happen to diabetics if they did the same thing to them .
Been on T for almost 5 years. No side effects, no ball shrinkage, PSA totally normal. I’ll do the exact opposite than what the studies or government says.
Those authors publishing that with errors did a big disservice to a lot of men. A lot of doctors are afraid to prescribe testosterone, they act like it is poison.
Thank you for this update! I’ve been on TRT for over 20 years since diagnosed in my mid 30’s. It has helped me incredibly over the years and is a noticeable difference when I went off of the therapy for over two months when I had issues with my insurance company and couldn’t get the medication. I was initially concerned by your tag line on the vid but really happy to hear the results. Please keep up your great work! It very much appreciated! Thank you!

I have very low T numbers and withouth the TRT, its a short time befoie I start to feel the effects.
Tons of anecdotal proof of how beneficial TRT is here in the comments. For me, when my TRT was at 260 I felt like I was inside a balloon and the balloon was slowly deflating - like life itself was slowly being extinguished. It felt like once it deflated completely I’d be dead. It was really a horrible feeling that went on for months slowly getting worse. Now I self inject a minimal dose at infrequent intervals to keep myself away from that feeling. I feel great now.
Your TRT dose was 260mg a week? Well you weren’t on TRT buddy that the low end of cycle 😂😂😂😂. Get another dr and get regular bloods. Everyone is different but 260 should’ve put you over the upper limit. High TRT is usually below 200 max!!! But again everyone is different
Very helpful video. I just started my journey with testosterone injections, which I am doing because the cream didn’t seem to do anything for me. I’m liking it so far, and the injections are so painless I am shocked at how easy it is.
I did not see any mention in these studies about the risk of testosterone-induced polycythemia. This is crucial information that should be discussed as well. It was touched on in a round about way but not emphasized on as it should have been.
@@wintermute1 I always see a question about trt therapy when I donate. Do they NOT want TRT folks to donate? If that is the case, do you just answer "No, not on trt"? Can you advise? Thank you
I'm taking testosterone injections every other month because I'm taking the blood thinner medicine because in 2011 they found a blood clot next to my liver and since then I have been taking the blood thinner medicine and I have low testosterone levels and my doctor is checking my blood test and I still have low testosterone levels and I'm just taking the testosterone injections every other month like for example I got it this month of July so I will take the testosterone injection in September and then in November and in January 2024 I will go so they can take out blood from my arm to see how my testosterone levels are and if they are getting to be in the level that they have to be and if I still have them low then I will still be getting the testosterone injections until I get to the level that my doctor have told me and I'm going to be 67 years old and I have been taking testosterone injections because I was born premature and I didn't grow the way of other babies so that's the reason I'm taking the testosterone injections
Woohoo! I've been on TRT for four years now and love it. I got diagnosed for hypogonadism quite young, unfortunately. I was 40 when it was prescribed to me. It's VASTLY improved my life. I hear it's great for women too, but in MUCH smaller doses. I know Dr. Drew Pinsky's wife Susan is on it and she raves about it.
Took T for 10 years for hypogonadism and while it helped the symptoms, it also made me a lot more masculine and ended up giving me gender dysphoria. Turns out I'm trans. Switching to E next month. EDIT: Based on how I reacted to T and how low it was when tested at 40, I assume I always had hypogonadism/low T. Possibly XXY syndrome?
@@kuyab9122 Not sure, to be honest. It seems to be more common as the generations progress. Lower and lower T levels are becoming common place. My doctor and I think I was always on the low side, and when I hit middle age and my T levels started dropping they simply just dropped too low. I was miserable. Nothing was working right which is why I made my doctor test me. He didn't want to because he was certain I didn't have low T. Finally convinced him and turns out, I had low T. It has changed my life.
I tried the gel about a decade ago. At first, I felt nothing for maybe 10-14 days. Then I noticed I recovered from my workouts more quickly and I was able to lift heavier more consistently. About 5 weeks in I found myself driving down the interstate and I heard this lunatic screaming at the top of his lungs at other drivers. Then I realized the lunatic was me. I was experiencing roid rage. I stopped the gel immediately
If you're as unlucky as I was you suffer...immensely. If I were smart I would have gone to the black market like glaucoma and cancer patients did with cannabis. But I wanted to do the right thing. I now have demons I'll have to live with for the rest of my life.
57 and my T is low 300. I feel like crap cause I’m tired and usually have a hard time keeping an erection. I hate it and it’s causing me issues with my wife. I’ve talked to my Doctor and he refuses to allow me to have TRT. So now I’m about to start TRT on my own through illegal means as it’s the only way. TRT clinics charge too much and I can do it underground for 1/2 the cost.
I inject 10 mg every two days subq in my tummy, and my levels are great. Both Total and Free Testosterone. All the other hormones, Estrodial, etc., are great too. The only time you could get into trouble as far as cardiovascular is if the Hematocrit and Hemoglobin rise above normal and a simple blood donation will fix that. You should also watch your Ferratin and Iron levels too. The T gel works great too. My total Testoterone stays in the 500s (ng/dl) and my free T stays around 117 (pg/ml)
It still raises blood pressure and can speed up cancers in the body....the human body was designed to have lower testosterone at old age to prevent heart attacks.
@@mslice09 My blood pressure is normal. I've been using testosterone for 2 years. My Testosterone level is only a little above the low range. I'll have my blood pressure checked more often.
My father was diagnosed at about 25-30 with panhypopituitaryism. At about 72 he developed prostate cancer. His doctor blamed the HRT for the cancer and immediately stopped his injections. Within 6 months, he developed multiple other diseases from Parkinsons to brittle bone disease. Joint issues requiring surgery and essentially succumbed to sepsis. Never had heart or blood pressure or diabetes issues.
To the guys watching about naturally increasing test level, you should look into loosing some body fat. Fat increases estrogen and it has a teeter totter effect on testosterone. Weight training also increases test levels, you should also look in to natural test boosters. However, the market of test boosters are very over priced and under dosed, so buying individual ingredients in a bottle instead of all together, you can adjust the dosage yourself and it is far more cheaper. Things like shilajit extract, Fenugreek Seed, Boron, Forskohlii, Ashwagandha, DHEA, etc, all shows to improve natural test levels.
Good news because I was just w my GP and he was giving me all sorts of warnings about heart attack risks associated w TRT w me being on Androgel for a few months now. As a 65 yr old dude, went from a wimpy T level of 35 to 800 with Androgel within a couple months. Waking up w morning wood, no more naps in middle of day, and just more energy all around.
I’m 55 I have been on TRT for about 6 years. My life body and life have improved. If there is anything bad in my body, it would be from eating junk food and drinking alcohol, not from testosterone.
I'm a 67-year-old male. I do the 1.62 gel. I put it on my shoulders every morning. I can feel a significant difference if I've not used it for a week or so (low mood and zero motivation, a little anxiety, depression, etc.).
It's amazing how we never hear about the "dangers" of testosterone when it comes to women who want to "transition" even though women taking testosterone permenantly alters their physiology.
Hey now, I administer 20mg of Test Enanthate to my wife dosed in 1/2 twice per week. Women need Testosterone, albeit very different ratios to men. It increased her energy, sex drive (Oh la la), and her mental health. Recent blood test indicated a low level, and her Dr originally prescribed 25mg every 10 days, knowing how I feel based on different injection schedules, I altered that. Also, it shortened her periods and made them lighter. I had a vasectomy, reproduction isn't our concern, and I inject 250mg per week (1/2 twice per week). Panacea, possibly, the correct dose is important, based on how you/she feels. Transitioning, as you mentioned, is a whole other beast. I am just passionate about TRT in general
I've been on TRT for the past 5 years, I was on ADHD and doctor wanted to give me antidepressants as well. TRT was a life changer, I don't even take ADHD meds. The only time I didn't feel well was when my red blood cell count was extremely high, I'm sure it could cause cardiovascular issues. It is now monitored by my GP and the TRT clinic, never felt better.
It's not really about total testosterone. The issue is also you free testosterone. It should be 2 to3% of a healthy total testosterone. So as long as you have about 15 ng/dL of free testosterone, you're gonna be in great shape.
Please keep in mind, a lack of association disproves a cause and effect relationship. However, the existence of a correlation does not, in any way, even imply a cause and effect relationship. She is absolutely correct to say that TRT doesn’t cause heart problems. (Lack of correlation) She points out correlations in this study between TRT and slight increases in rates of a few different conditions. These should not be viewed as being caused by the TRT, merely associated with it. In other words, this study can’t tell us that TRT increases your risk of any condition.
55-years old and have been doing subcutaneous TRT pellets for six years. Talk about a game changer! I was at 215 when I started. I am able to work out six days a week and feeling great. I would never go back to where I was.
This comment is going to be incredibly limited, as in just my experience. With no numbers, T levels for example, to back it up. Or dosage stuff. 2 things: Zinc and exercise. Looked up natural T boosting, nutrition, Zinc is tops. Between getting fit and popping Zinc supplements morning wood returned, was 45 at the time and while having no real performance issues, morning wood WAS something that had gone away. 55 now. Over the last ten years fitness comes and goes but the Zinc popping remains, and so does morning wood. So, morning wood is my T number measurement. And brothers, mornings shine bright and gloriously. :) Just tossing this out there. So before going the T route give Zinc a shot and get your mile down below 7 minutes. Got mine to 5:42 at 45 years old and lemme tell ya, THAT is a T booster. Was walking around like a 20 year old. Tough to maintain, currently at a 9:20 mile. Bummer. Trying to get motivated to pick it back up. My 2 cents
I was and overweight and yes my dr said i could have heart issues but im now 43 i dropped 75 pounds and am more active. I truly hope this study is still accurate but i feel like the weight loss outweighs the side effects (I pray it does).
The weight loss alone would raise your testosterone level without the drug ..TRT is not safe , because it also speeds up cancers in the body.,and can raise blood pressure,. the human body was designed to have lower testosterone for this reason as we age...you can still built muscle and have a high libido with a low level ( 250 )..even over 80 .years old...look at De Niro and Pacino.with babies
Hmmm. Sponsored by TRT companies? Can we please get a bias examination audit? I’m in TRT at 35 because of pituitary gland issues and really hope this shit is the real deal.
Mine was at 167 a few months back, went up to 1550 after one shot & a few days of cream, then i clicked back on the cream, 7 weeks later it went back down to 208, taking the shots again
I'm 51 and just started TRT 6 months ago, my overall T was 183. I've been in shape my whole life but it wasn't so much about the physical aspect of it, was more about my mental state. Total life changer!
@@_baller Started after I turned 50, started feeling tired, no energy, anxiety, depression, no sex drive and started spending less time in the gym. I didnt know what was wrong cause I've always been in shape and exercised. Was in the Marines and a police officer for 25 years and then all of sudden bam. So did the research then had my levels checked, so the TRT was a life changer
Thank you for sharing. I’m in the same boat. Low T symptoms came on almost overnight. I can regulate the physical stuff with diet and exercise but the mental aspects cannot be adjusted with these. Feel like a shell of myself. Looking at starting soon. May I ask your dosage and way of application? Thanks!
I’m 66 been on 1.62% gel for many years and my local pharmacy provides it at $33- for each pump bottle. I concur with the narrative and findings of this video, keeping in mind the best benefit is to have a normal level of testosterone, higher levels are not beneficial whatsoever.
Ooops! We're sorry... Now that our research is funded by the company that sells TRT we found out we were doing it all wrong! TRT is actually good for your heart! Even Rena is excited!
Hi Doctor.. please make a video on kidney functioning.. Can a person live with only one kidney if donated to a family member.. will the donor be safe for rest of his life with functioning of only one kidney... please advise 🙏
I went to the hospital in November 1970, and my doctor decided my kidneys were not functioning and I had to be put on dialysis. In early December 1970, we discovered that I was born with only one kidney. While on dialysis, the doctors decided to do exploratory surgery and found out why my system was being poisoned. Two blood vessels that were supposed to grow under the urethra tube did not, but instead, one vessel grew over, and one vessel grew under and clamped off my urethra tube so I could not go pee. They clipped and tied off a tube and fixed my problem, but I spent 32 days in the hospital with 14 days in intensive care. I was 17 years old at that time, and I just turned 70 years old on July 3rd. Yes, you can live a long full life with just one kidney, although I was born with my kidney. My brother and I were scheduled to go to Denver to do a kidney transplant had the doctors not found those two blood vessels and fixed my problem.
Mis interpreted... trt is unhealthy if the control group is people without low t. It being healthier than Low t without trt is low hanging fruit. This was weakly mentioned at the end, when she mentioned it's useful IF you have hypogonadism, but I think it was ignored in comments section. So if you're unhealthy with low t, then trt may not lead to cardiac problems long term vs. Low t. Not trt has just as good cardiological profile than those with healthy t...
One key is NONE of these RCT'S have been long term. Second, many guys taking TRT don't actually need it. Many need it but take more than normal level. Next, low vs high is very different man to man. Even for a woman. Plus lower HDL-c for these men. Lastly, there are a lot of nuances. Age, race, lifestyle, sleep, past health history and present health status.
Most people don't realize that it speeds up cancers in the body..and can cause heart attacks as they get older...1 in 10 usually die from this ...that's why our testosterone is low as we age , because it protects us from heart attacks also high blood pressure..
I’m betting money if men improved their diet (red meat and saturated fat) while cutting out completely ultra processed foods, their insulin resistance would go away and hormones would surge naturally.
If your blood pressure and blood sugar are good then your heart is good and LDL doesn’t really matter. Injecting testosterone can make it easier to lift or do cardio. It can also improve insulin sensitivity. Seems fine to me.
I had heard about a couple different young men having heart attacks and dieing. I was thinking it could be the creatine, but now I saw this video. I'm thinking it's the testosterone that's giving these young men heart attacks. My grandfather had three heart attacks. I think he had at least one by the time he was my age. I'm 31 now, I haven't had one yet. I also don't take testosterone or anything like it.
I was on trt and felt great being on it. I had to stop because I had a heart attack and was likely because the side effects of being on testosterone was the tickening of the blood. I was put on blood thinner and remove from trt. I plan to be back on trt again but take some blood thinner like 81mg of aspirine a day to prevent my blood from thickening again.
Thx! 3 years in and now at 70yo with regular blood testing checking Free and Regular no problems and see very good benefits; PCP monitors. Use the pellets about every 4 months. Very good.
Thank you for sharing.
Did TRT have any negative side effects?
I’m concerned about any negative impact specially testicles shrinking.
@@amohsen9848Normally there are ways to prevent that There guys who get on gear and manage to avoid it.
Cypionate?
I'm the same way and several times they tried to stop my injections with obvious disaster outcomes, I'm back on my injections and life is good
Why do you inject test? What was your suffering?
@@kuyab9122 For me I breakout in Hives with the Gel or Patch from one of the ingredients used to facilitate absorption. I don't mind the self-injecting each thigh every other week and it keep my levels very regular.
Let me make this clear for everyone . Having LOW testosterone is far more risky than trt for your heart and overall health
A study done by the Testosterone manufacturer doesn't exactly give me good faith. 😂
I've been on TRT for yrs and my levels are around 1,000
I am also on a meats, eggs (yes the whole egg), fruits, honey, and the good healthy fats (Raw Butter, Ghee Butter, or Beef Tallow)
And I get blood work regularly and my health and numbers are great!

Oh my God, that's Awesome! I am in the same as your previous condition and I feel like shit...
Thank you for sharing your experience
Has she ever seen a health problem that was not fixed with a drug?
Thanks for sharing Richard. How do you take testosterone?
That explains why my cardiologist told me "I really don't like TRT." I told him it was life changing and worth the risk and he was like "Ok, then."
I am 65 and have been on TRT for ten years. My initial level was 117 , not good. Now my level is at 600. One Doctor told me that I could not take testosterone, I got a lady Doctor who said take your medicine.
They're always flip flopping on this just like coffee and alcohol, one minute its good for you..next thing you know its bad for you again!🤔
This is awesome news. I've been on TRT for the last 16 years. Thank you sooooo much for clearing the air!
Weight loss and obviously some form of exercise
About the CPAP, if you need it due to a deviated septum get the surgery, life changing.

Why isn't Testosterone prescribed as a preventative to insure a level of health for men over 70 yrs or 75 yrs old.
I also have AFib, plus a pace maker/defibrillator 68 years old. Good luck, hope you do well.
I also recently had a heart valve replacement and I'm regularly in AFib. I would like to see if TRT could help me. Thank you for writing this and wishing you continued good health.
I have a theory most diseases that stem from aging begin with low testosterone. Heart rhythm, blood sugar, depression all exasperated by low T.
Why would I want to add something that has aided in so many bad decisions now that I'm free from it?
Transition already
@@usaman7358 no maybe I'll just eat some raw liver.
Clomiphene ? I think that drug is supposed to stimulate the body into producing more Testosterone naturally ?
Worst thing you can take. Good luck.

Hopefully you refused the clotshot 🙏
Have u seen Any side effects after using TRT??
I been on TRT since 28, currently 42. Took steroids in my 20’s that’s why I needed up being on TRT. Calcium score still zero after all these years. 👌

I was initially concerned by your tag line on the vid but really happy to hear the results. Please keep up your great work! It very much appreciated! Thank you!
What happened when you went off for two months ? How did you feel ?
@@Jedscorp Nothing crazy for the first two weeks but by the third week I started to feel tired by the end of the day. As it progressed into the second month, I was back to drinking lots of coffee just to make it through the day. My concentraction was off and I was exhausted by 2PM every day. I have very low T numbers and withouth the TRT, its a short time befoie I start to feel the effects.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been so confused on this topic and wanting to consider HRT for testosterone. Thank you so much
Drugs that raise testosterone, also raise blood pressure and speed up cancers in the body....stay natural ,it's healthier.
@@scraggs11I think he was referring to his test levels at 260ng/dL, not his dosage.
What is the Medical Community’s opinion of The Priapus Shot® procedure? Your profession opinion of this?
Very helpful video. I just started my journey with testosterone injections, which I am doing because the cream didn’t seem to do anything for me. I’m liking it so far, and the injections are so painless I am shocked at how easy it is.
I did not see any mention in these studies about the risk of testosterone-induced polycythemia. This is crucial information that should be discussed as well. It was touched on in a round about way but not emphasized on as it should have been.
Solution to that is regular blood donation
Thank
You the timing for this couldn’t be better I’m recovering from an undiagnosed prolactinoma and trying to decide on TRT this is great news
What about testosterone boosters? Natural and artificial? What are their pros and cons?
They do NOT work, not a single one of them has research showing it works.
Anything natural is good for the body unless you have a health issue or abuse it.
@@mslice09Yeah you're right. Thanks
What caused your hypogonadism?
@@NikaHollywood wow that's terrible that you had such a hard time. I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck on your transition.
Dr. Malik - what about Testosterone booster supplements from Nutrition stores? 💊
How does a study get published with a mistake like that?
I tried the gel about a decade ago. At first, I felt nothing for maybe 10-14 days. Then I noticed I recovered from my workouts more quickly and I was able to lift heavier more consistently. About 5 weeks in I found myself driving down the interstate and I heard this lunatic screaming at the top of his lungs at other drivers. Then I realized the lunatic was me. I was experiencing roid rage. I stopped the gel immediately
Roid rage is caused by high estrogen. With more testosterone, the body makes more estrogen. There are many solutions to this issue.
What if you have symptoms? But the numbers are on the chart level normal?
You can go through online clinics for $90 a month
I inject 10 mg every two days subq in my tummy, and my levels are great. Both Total and Free Testosterone. All the other hormones, Estrodial, etc., are great too. The only time you could get into trouble as far as cardiovascular is if the Hematocrit and Hemoglobin rise above normal and a simple blood donation will fix that. You should also watch your Ferratin and Iron levels too. The T gel works great too. My total Testoterone stays in the 500s (ng/dl) and my free T stays around 117 (pg/ml)
Do you take only 30 mg weekly?
It still raises blood pressure and can speed up cancers in the body....the human body was designed to have lower testosterone at old age to prevent heart attacks.
@@mslice09 My blood pressure is normal. I've been using testosterone for 2 years. My Testosterone level is only a little above the low range. I'll have my blood pressure checked more often.
@@mslice09”was designed” lol
@@mslice09there is no research or even mechanistic studies to support this conclusion-the study RTC the doc reports contradict your conclusions.
That doctor was a quack. TRT does not cause Prostate Cancer and its been proven by like 20 clinical studies.
It definitely speeds up cancers in the body.
Criminal
TRT is poison bro why would anyone inject themself with chemicals.
Dear Dr. Red is your color.
I'm a 67-year-old male. I do the 1.62 gel. I put it on my shoulders every morning. I can feel a significant difference if I've not used it for a week or so (low mood and zero motivation, a little anxiety, depression, etc.).
I wasted 4 mnths on gel and had to switch to the injection. World of difference
@@calvinchauvin78 I'm still on the gel...no complaints.
@@02chevyguyhow many pumps do you use?
Thanks for this video
Dr. Malik. What are your thoughts on taking testosterone injections to help build muscle mass? I'm 65 and find that at this age i need a boost.
I'm 64 and my testosterone level is 620. Not going to mess with my endocrine system
It's not really about total testosterone. The issue is also you free testosterone. It should be 2 to3% of a healthy total testosterone. So as long as you have about 15 ng/dL of free testosterone, you're gonna be in great shape.
If you feel good and your levels are normal no need to take trt. TRT means people who need it. Doing it for vanity is foolish, shallow and immature.
Any recommendations in the LA County area?
Please keep in mind, a lack of association disproves a cause and effect relationship. However, the existence of a correlation does not, in any way, even imply a cause and effect relationship.
She is absolutely correct to say that TRT doesn’t cause heart problems. (Lack of correlation)
She points out correlations in this study between TRT and slight increases in rates of a few different conditions.
Just tossing this out there.
My 2 cents
Your channel always comes with the greatest content. Thank you so much for taking the time and putting it together always.
Damn that's really low T, how
@@_baller Started after I turned 50, started feeling tired, no energy, anxiety, depression, no sex drive and started spending less time in the gym. Hi Doctor.. please make a video on kidney functioning.. Can a person live with only one kidney if donated to a family member.. will the donor be safe for rest of his life with functioning of only one kidney... please advise 🙏
Yes you can live with only 1 you also have to take pills rest of your life
I went to the hospital in November 1970, and my doctor decided my kidneys were not functioning and I had to be put on dialysis.
Donate blood every other month. Your blood will get thick on TRT . If your iron gets above 15 donate blood . Easy peezy nuff said!
You continue to be the absolute best source of relevant info on these very important subjects. Thank you!
Was there any increase in the size of the prostate in men with BPH?
I’m betting money if men improved their diet (red meat and saturated fat) while cutting out completely ultra processed foods, their insulin resistance would go away and hormones would surge naturally.
I was 450 lbs. and my Testosterone levels were 29. I started TRT and lost 225 pounds. Have been doing a weekly Shot for 12 years now
But were the results peer reviewed or the funding company's INTERPRETATION of the results peer reviewed? Big difference!
If your blood pressure and blood sugar are good then your heart is good and LDL doesn’t really matter. Injecting testosterone can make it easier to lift or do cardio. It can also improve insulin sensitivity. Seems fine to me.
My friends dad threw a clot 3 weeks after starting testosterone and died. Be warned
Reallly?
I had heard about a couple different young men having heart attacks and dieing. I was thinking it could be the creatine, but now I saw this video. I'm thinking it's the testosterone that's giving these young men heart attacks. My grandfather had three heart attacks. I think he had at least one by the time he was my age. I'm 31 now, I haven't had one yet. I also don't take testosterone or anything like it.
Unless you have symptoms of low testosterone, you shouldn't be taking any level of this hormone. Period...
Why would you think creatine??
Or maybe it was the clot shot?
I was on trt and felt great being on it. I had to stop because I had a heart attack and was likely because the side effects of being on testosterone was the tickening of the blood. I was put on blood thinner and remove from trt. I plan to be back on trt again but take some blood thinner like 81mg of aspirine a day to prevent my blood from thickening again.
Just donate blood every 8 to 12 weeks. That will keep your red blood count levels in the normal range.
Thx! 3 years in and now at 70yo with regular blood testing checking Free and Regular no problems and see very good benefits; PCP monitors. Use the pellets about every 4 months. Very good.
