"Bleeding Edge is an absolute ball when you're clashing swords in the thick of a team fight or tweaking a fighter's playstyle, so it's a shame that the frustrating camera and lifeless ranged combat get in the way. There's a lot of wiggle room to experiment with a fighter's toolkit, but its lasting appeal will depend on whether or not you invest time in its tinkering. At it's best, Bleeding Edge is a glorious back-and-forth contest of fisticuffs, but too often it just isn't that."

My thoughts after playing this game for about 10 hours:
Amazing, diverse cast of characters with really fun mechanics. Matchmaking is great - quick, games don't last more than 15-20 minutes. However, it needs more maps, modes and Ranked system - basically, it has a bright future if the devs keep supporting and adding content overtime. Excited to see how it does.
Edit (two months later): We haven't particularly seen a huge spike in players but the game has much more to offer. There are challenges, new skins to unlock, MMR which is coming soon and a new Fighter as well. The people who play this game absolutely adore it, which is fantastic! The devs keep updating stuff, so that's certainly promising.
I appreciate your verdict. I hope this game goes on for a long time.

i get somewhat high ping for no reason also they havent added fps unlcoking yet so i guess they still need to improve the game

@@happyroguue9358 if you see bottom right on the main menu, they have address these issues. Within a day of release! Which means that they listen to the problems we're facing and they're working on it.
A game like this is bound to improve with new characters, maps etc.
But you shouldn't buy a game and have to wait fot it to 'improve'.

I’ve played for almost 24 hours and I’m really liking it. I’ve slowly been appreciating the things that I originally didn’t like at first more and more once I understand them, like the ranged fighters - the fun for them comes from the challenge of effective positioning rather than getting up and close. A ranked mode would go a lonng way in keeping me invested, but I’ve been loving it either way
So once you learn how to play it is fun? So the modes are fun or how about characters do they feel fun to play or are they basic and control like one another?
@@kojinooni yeah it’s great fun especially when you’re playing with a team that’s communicating and working well - all of the fighters play really differently and are really rewarding. Sadly though I don’t think there are a huge amount of players actively playing so it’s very hard to find a game without friends. But it’s on game pass too, so you can try and see for yourself too!
I fear that this game gets not big attention and therefore will not have a great playerbase.... It currently has about 100 current viewers on Twitch and that was also an release date... However in the Beta it was played by way more streamers...
And now it has 700+ hourly viewers on Twitch :D

I think it's really cool that this game exist. Its not really my type of game but I love seeing Microsoft support a smaller online game like this, it reminds me a lot of og xbox. I really hope they do more stuff like this
I enjoy the game but it feels a little bare bones. Im hoping for continuing support. To all the people saying it's a Overwatch clone this is NOT A SHOOTER there are a few range characters but they have very limited range and you don't aim. They play more like megaman than a traditional shooter. The controls are also feels more like Monster Hunter if it was a fighter.
OW is much better imo and I barely play it. I think if I didn't play all the closed betas and open betas, I would came more excited. But not much changed since. You get jumped a lot in this game and some players are going full tryhard already to get kills.
@@DubExp Overwatch is def a more well made game but mechanically it's also different so I don't think it's a fair comparison. I wouldn't compare Bayonetta to Call of duty. There is things they can do better. I had game where the other team bum rushed me but my team still won because they focused on objectives versus killing one person. I hated being that one person.

@@DubExp I want an assymetric game mode like payload in overwatch, one team attacks while other defends, it might be boring with BE's gameplay but only the devs would know now
I want to try this game only because it has a ton of style.
Will probably be improved over time. I'd revisit this in 6months to a year
Knowing these types of games it will die long before that.
@@kaomixx13 Well Overwatch certainly didnt and neither did for example Sea of Thieves, despite the latter being in MUCH worse position with its content when it was launched.

Its worth buying now. It's fun and it's not a full price $60 game. Improvements would be great but it's doesn't make it not worth playing

The camera issue is just as big of a problem as he made it out to be. You must not play very aggressively or something.

Playing this game really just makes me wish they went in more of that direction instead of a team oriented style like they do here. I'd prefer the deeper melee combat than simple 1 button mashing and what not.

What makes this game annoying is the players who think it’s a fighting game and won’t play the objective. The overwatch syndrome all over again
That's every game with objectives, it's nothing new.
Overwatch didn't make that mentality popular, it already existed.

I played during the Alpha and both Betas. Different folk different strokes I guess, I really like it and it would be cool if people gave it a chance. What's so rewarding about dissing other people's hard work?

Well it's being reviewed at launch. I think they should revisit it later when it fixes all the problems.
@@e1iteyoshi998 I agree. But at the same time they're just doing their job as reviewers for a game now considered "released" and accessible to the public. It was up to the devs to delay the release date of the game if they were aware of some remaining issues.

I remember seeing this, it was the first Xbox World Premiere game reveal at E3 2019, unfortunately we won’t be having one this year
I'll admit, I kinda gravitate towards this more so than over watch due to my poor aiming 😂
Definitely needs more maps, modes and characters, also some balancing improves. Oh and it would be super cool if there was a pve side that expanded the combos and abilities 😁

Many Xbox players, including myself have really bad jittery/lag issues, I have a solid WiFi speed that easily handles games like Rainbow Six Siege and MW, I hope they can improve the issue
I get those issues when playing it on PC but not console. Weird.

More team heavy than anything, lotta lone wolves...if u aren’t coherent as a squad the skill ceiling can be pretty high. Let someone run into a squad thinking they can 1v4 or 1v3 a whole team by mashing all the super moves..you’re done! Lmaoo🤣💀
the camera is definitely an issue, but you can adjust settings to make it better. I recommend setting the lock on to toggle, as it's default setting is "hold". Camera sensitivity can be adjusted too. So far, I really like this game. The Parry mechanic is definitely wonkey. I like Overwatch, but I'm terrible with FPS, so this game is perfect for me.

If they had done something to improve damage or lower health, I’d be happy, I myself love playing tanks or supports in any game, which has a pretty big basis of supporting the team. However in other games tanks and supports weren’t always useless without their team. When I played Reinhardt I’m over watch for example, his charge ability was very useful. However when I play matoku, I feel as if I haven’t done anything to the enemy because it only does 100 damage with damage boosting mods. I love the combat and fighting styles of all the characters but often I find myself either chasing someone or hitting someone that just heals themself faster than I do damage to them. I understand people are going to say, “stick with you’re team and communicate”. Often when I play the game my friends aren’t on, and I play with randoms, even with friends it’s difficult to play. And even when I stick with my team, I find tank very boring and not fun. Overall ultimates could be boosted as well. Like gizmos rocket doesn’t do anything and it’s a huge rocket. Matokus ball doesn’t do anything but knock people 2 ft away. When I get my ult I expect it to do something but that’s never the case. Ults are used to turn the tide of a game not just do a little damage. Honestly gizmos vortex bomb does more than some of her ults

This does seem fun. A TPS where it's not all just about having quick trigger fingers is exactly what I'd like.I'd be all over this game if it hadn't been for exams and stuff.

I've known about this game since last year, and I was hoping that this game would be more fleshed out.
Ninja Theory didn't have a huge team allocated to this game. Most of their staff is working on the Hellblade sequel. But I'm sure the game will be polished over time through multiple updates just like every online games.
I been playing since closed betas last year. A few changes here and there. Still nothing too special.

I don't know why but it's have a Law breaker and Battleborn popularity feel to it, i hope i was wrong tho.. the game looks amazing

In a well balanced, tactical match the ranged combat is not boring at all, this was a pretty decent review tho!
So about twice every 100 games.
All this needs is more content. More maps, game modes, and characters. The character balancing is honestly better than Overwatch but surely that is because OW has more characters. If Bleeding Edge added a ranked gamemode and improved the servers, I would be addicted even more than I am now.

I don't know if it's on me, but i have seen barely any marketing from this game. For me it kinda just was there out of nowhere, no clue what it was about.

I find it as a nice break from the oversaturated FPS genre that has dominated the market for years. It would be cool to have a game that could be both causal and competitive, but has lots of character customisation and social attributes

Their main game is Hellblade 2, this is a side project and even for that the quality is AAA tier, even though it needs more content

I love this game it's fun, exciting, and easy to play. Lock on system could use adjustments. Other than that it's great. This game is a great team based multiplayer and the characters are dope.

Its not that type of game its a MOBA. The point is to hold areas ans act as a team that is why there is different classes.

I love this game, the only problem I found was that it runs like TRASH, at first I thought it was a problem with my connection only but I looked at the bleeding edge forums and it seems to be that way for a lot of people. Aside from actual connection issues I think this game has amazing potential and I would love for it to succeed.
I really wanted to like this game. Reminded me of their old game kungfu chaos, and lesser known tps moba called cyphers. It felt like neither. And combat didn't feel juicy enough.

Compared to Overwatch I really appreciate the game’s attempts to teach you the basic mechanics. The camera feels a little bit janky, but I’m sure it’s one of those growing pain things.

This should have been a newer version of Sunset Overdrive. If Ninja Theory made a different version of Sunset Overdrive, should have been a huge hit. But they chose it to be a pvp multiplayer? Hope Ninja Theory fixes it because it has potentials
Well just a reminder again that this game was in development in Ninja Theory LONG before MS acquired them...so MS had nothing to do with their decision making. Also Sunset Overdrive IP is entirely owned by Insomniac who are now owned by Sony AND the game wasnt even huge hit by any means so what makes you think that even if there had been Sunset Overdrive 2 that it would have been any bigger hit?

Well it kind of is for Gamepass subscribers....for the same reason Sea of Thieves still has lots of players, thanks to Gamepass subscribers. But I do agree that outside it, It really should be free2play title
