Ghost of Tsushima is an absolutely gorgeous open world action/adventure with incredible combat and clever solutions to longstanding issues in the genre, despite dropping the ball on the stealth side of its stealth/action split.

I cannot overstate how much i love the lack of a leveling system.
It's about time for a change
I like it. Nearly every damn game that's been released even non rpg games have leveling systems. You have to level up to be strong enough to fight difficult enemies. In this game it's all about skill so if you lose you need to get better at it instead of just getting strong by leveling up.
@@knightghost1782 zelda breath of the Wild had a similar system. If you knew the controls then, that's all you needed no leveling required.
Couldn't agree more, hugely prefer it.
It especially pulls me out of a game when you are the same level as an enemy pig or something and just hacking away with an axe for minutes on end. It kills immersion.
HZD adapt leveling system but somehow the made it perfectly, it's not frustrating like recentl AC games but gives you challenge and an urge to level up

Same boat :) We had Sooooo many gems with the PS4..Im proud to say there wasn't one I didn't play and or finish.. Except for Nioh 2, which I will one day..This whole generation was simply incredible..Thank you Sony!! Can't wait to see them carry this momentum of these i.p.'s plus the unknown next gen!! !! Went by so fast:)

He forgot to mention how fast the loading screen is, when you fast travel or start the game it never takes more then around 3 seconds, it's great!

Also , the beauty in ghost of tsushima's environment just makes me wanna boot up my ps4 and keep playing it non stop

Be careful. Ubisoft might just double down on that aspect. You might have to start doing 30 side quests before you can even start the main Quest

@@zorrystefhan7113 Jin's reluctance to stealth kill people. It's not something a samurai does. It's not the way he was raised. But Jin resigns himself to stealth kills when he needs to because Tsushima can't rely solely on the ways of the samurai to repel the Mongol invasion.
The emotion Jin possesses is revealed through his haikus and reflections in the hot springs....

Jin expresses his emotions for plenty of other moments in the game too. The main focus is that he just controls his own emotions so he doesn’t lash out in rage for example or act based off of his own emotions, which [spoiler] changes later on in the story when he is pushed to the brink of stopping the mongols and seeking revenge on the Khan.
this reviewer did a splendid job. you can tell he thoroughly enjoyed this game and he didn't deduct points for not being able to cut bamboo trees or even if the game is too hard. he says the game has a depth and its challenging and beautiful game play makes this game worthy of playing. y'all should put this man on more reviews cuz props to him for a great and fair review.
Aria that’s not true. I always listen to IGN’S reviews and they are also unfair and biased. This review wasn’t. And I’m not saying this review was perfect but it’s been a great video IGN has had in a long time and more reviews should be like this.

I got it today, and to anyone who is on the fence: IT IS WORTH IT. Trust me. And to answer some of you guys’ questions, it runs and looks incredibly well on the base PS4 and is 40gb.

Dean Vos I’m running it on base PS4, and it runs amazing. I’m sure it looks even more incredible on Pro, but it still looks and runs incredibly on the base console.
@@deanosvos I personally run it on a ps4, wss hoping there would be an option to get higher fps but I guess suckered punch didn't put in alit of work for performance mode but im not planning on replaying the game on ps5 if it does come out because Im never on a console anymore unless there is a new release of a game that is sony exclusive
@@realghostxd there is a performance mode, you can choose between higher fps or better resolution, at least on my p4 pro, dont't know about normal.
Just finished this game, it was truly incredible and had incredible respect for Japanese culture and history, I don’t understand how these people on twitter have the audacity to say it appropriated Japanese culture, just because it was made by westerners. If people only made games set in the their own country and culture, imagine how boring today’s entertainment would be.

This is the first game where the side quests and mini side quest didn't get repetitive like reading a book I always wanted to see what the next page of the story would tale.
Same! I usually just go through the motions with side quests, but these side stories were very strong.

I stopped playing AC Odyssey because of level based stats progression. If the enemy was 2 levels higher than you, it’s nearly impossible to win without dedicating at least 30 mins to an hour just fighting that enemy.

But the whole “makes you feel like X” and “has a little something for everyone” are both honest and valid criticisms help you understand if it does work correctly. Heck, its a game, its supposed to put me in the shoes of the character... so yeah, it should make me feel like a samurai and if it does that’s great.

The graphics and scenery of this game is beyond any i have played, i spend most of the time climbing mountains to watch the beautiful view while playing the flute, and the choice of honor fights and assassination is brilliantly portrayed, this game is so f*cking sick and don't mind the negative reviews from critics I seriously don't understand what pisses them off, this was a nice see off to ps 4😁

I grew to love the Khan. I'm glad the devs didn't make him a cookie cutter antagonist. They humanized him in a unique way.
This game only having an 83 on Metacritic is absolutely criminal. What an astonishing game. The gameplay is so addicting and satisfying and the graphics are stunning and glorious. Looks like an epic painting at times. Stand offs are brilliant and will NEVER get old, the game has deeper mechanics than I ever would’ve imagined, and “boss fight” duels are glorious and intense. Game of the Year.

Dont know why you say that. Most pc gamers have playstation. We can simply afford it and we can play any exclusives because of that. From stategy, mmo to this!

So for anyone JUMPING right now into the PS5 version, or PS4 Director's Cut with all the hype and craze. ALL of these issues are fixed. NG+, New Armors, New Multiplayer, New Replaying Camps/Duels, New Charms, New Difficulty, Lock-On, Removing Quiver, Improved Stealth and Fighting Animations, DualSense/DualShock 4 Motion Controls for flicking the blood of your sword without sheathing it, skipping cutscenes, proper japanese lip-sync (Previously some of the cutscenes were videos to hide loading times, they were SUPER HIGH quality tho, so you couldn't spot them at all), etc.
Stealth has been fixed, and doesn't work that way anymore, once you are spotted, you are spotted and enemies follow you and you can't assassinate them by staying out of sight unless you really hide away from them. Standing in a camp or on a roof doesn't work anymore. You can't prompt a stealth kill, plus they improved the variety of stealth kill animations with the tanto.
So playing as a Stealthy Ghost feels like one.
On top of that PS5 Features Haptics (One of the best along with Returnal), Triggers, 3D Tempest Audio, 4K (Slight Checkerboard) and Improved Textures for Characters, NPCs, Clothes, Weapons and even Terrain.
PS4 is still backwards compatible with 1800K Checkerboard (Don't know the native resolution from which has been used to checkerboard) and 60 FPS, you just don't get the DualSense and Termpest/Textures upgrades.
This reviewer deserves a raise for that HBK reference alone!!

They say he lacks emotion even tho it’s explained in the beginning of the game that he was raised as a samurai and samurai suppress their emotions to appear stronger. Jin from a young age was not raised as a child, but as a warrior.
This is one of the best reviews in IGN: He actually explained the pro and Cons and the score was appropriate. Well done!

This game is awesome. I’m about 3-4 hours in and the only negative I have is that it’s a little overwhelming. Most open world games are though. The graphics and attention to detail in this game are awesome.
This game is an absolute master piece! It is the first game which I felt like I wanted to play it until I got EVERYTHING, and it’s the first game I got a platinum trophy in. This video sums the game up perfectly and I highly recommend it for Game of the Year 2020
Ghost of Tsushima looks better than “next-gen” Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. This might be the game that kills my PS4’s fan.

After watching alot of gameplay this doesn’t look like Witcher combat and I just got through playing the game again. Theirs also no level system just pure skill to overcome the foe.

This is one of if not the best game ever made so far in my opinion. The only thing I could suggest to make it even cooler would be some iconic Easter eggs, like collabing on a mission with Zatoichi, Yoshimitsu or Rikimaru.
@heart of the forest: I found 2 easter eggs refered two sly cooper. I was truly surprised, amesome game!
Overlooked this game when it released and bought it a few weeks ago as a recommendation (and since it was on sale), so I wanted to come back to see what reviews said at the time.
I absolutely loved my time with it and just got the platinum yesterday. It is the most visually stunning game I've seen, and one of the best open world games I've ever played.
Since the review, a NG+ option has been made available, and a separate, free online mode.
The game honestly looks beautiful and the combat too. Wish there were more games like this

The coolest part of this game is realizing the stances have other uses in the big duels, soem moves from different stances work well for different things, you see ryoku use it against you
Solid 10/10. Great protagonist, great story, great combat, great stealth, great world, great characters, great antagonist, great side missions and great graphics. Game of the Year easy.
I like the new AC games well enough - but the bit he mentions about how nice it is to not base your character on numbers and levels is exactly what I've been wanting back in AC. I'm excited for this!

@@jimi7837 Yeah it defeats the purpose of owning a Pro if you're going to reduce graphics to make it quiet. The only other fix is to open it up, clean out the heatsync and reapply better thermal paste and even that doesn't fix it 100%. I just wish the game was on PC.
