They do. AI is abysmal and the PC port is a disaster. A few patches could fix the majority of the issues, but this is at best an 8

Cuphead, sonic mania, generations, hollow Knight, all have lower scores than this
And Witcher 3. The payout for this review must have been really high from the publisher
Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Ghost of Tsushima... IGN at this point is a complete joke forfeiting any type of seriousness at reviewing games.

Seems you haven't played any ubisoft games
They get more clever as the game goes on. In the end game they can spot you really fast. It's a part of the games design.
And even when they do detect you they all run in a straight line towards your location so you can just go to a corner take out a shotgun and kill everything in the area

Seems Arkane has produced another critically acclaimed game, hope they finally get the sales they deserve.
With this being on PS5 and PC only I’m not sure it will sell that well at all.
Another win for ps as always. 7 yrs straight. Pc and xbox irrelevant when it comes to exclusives in the last 7yrs and the future👍

As for quality games, we'll have deathloop sequels exclusively on xbox/PC as well as possibly Dishonored sequels and whatever other new IPs Arkane creates. They're not going anywhere.

Arkane is hands down one of the best developers. Hopefully this will make some players go back to Dishonered 1 and 2, especially 2, which is highly underrated.

WARNING: if you get nauseous easily from motion blur and head bob DONT get this game on console you can’t turn it off in settings or change the FOV. With not being able to change those setting plus fast paced combat it’s pretty brutal.

Well there were other AAA games in 2021 that had playable black characters and other minorities which didn't get anywhere near what Deathloop got so....
The AI isn’t brain dead, it’s just “game journalist difficulty,” hence why it didn’t negatively influence the final score.

That’s just plain dumb for him to say. If you played the game, the only comparison is that if you die and you reprise, you can go get collect your currency from your past body. Except it puts you like 20 feet away so you can just go pick it up immediately after dying. Whereas Dark Souls you would have a dangerous trek to go retrieve the souls you dropped.

The same developer that made the first Dishonored game which is definitely a classic, the repetition the annoying mechanics and pretty much uninteresting game playoffs back just make this game seems more boring than anything else.
Love this game but the weak A.I. alone is enough to ensure it simply cannot be a 10/10, a solid 8.

The Investigation part of this seems like it was vary much inspired by how Outerwilds dose its time loop progression, only on a vary different type of game

It’s so funny how people see this 10 and automatically assume this is going to be an amazing game after all the times they’ve criticized IGN for their previous ratings. If you liked Arkane Studios other games, you’ll probably like this. If you don’t like immersive shooter sims, this probably isn’t for you. Play it on your own, formulate your own rating.
That's because people only like reviews when they validate their preconceptions. If this review gave the game a seven, these same people would be making fun of IGN like usual despite having not even played the game yet.
Its better to check user score reviews than game journalists
True but it does help gather info whether the game is even worth buying. How the product tailors to each independent consumer is something impossible in any review

@@sexatica the game is being reviewbombed for three days already. The reason is technical state, which is not that bad, but based on metacritic user score one could think it's Cyberpunk-level broken. Basically some mouse judder issues and a bit of stutters and crashes, which are really hardware and software specific (the game even asks players to update drivers, but some refuse to). And console wars are involved as well

@@TheKing-cm4uo Nobody is talking about cinematics or storytelling for godsake, look at some gameplay, the Mechanics are simple, the physics are bad, ragdolls look like jelly, animations are stiffy, weapons floating in the air, objects clipping, camera clipping, just upollish and simple. Im not saying is not a great game, it's probably a lot of fun. But is no MASTERPIECE... this game can be made in a year.

@@RawFrequency also prey's DLC mooncrash, which layed some of the foundation for deathloop's loop. It isn't quite as perfect as D1 and D2 but dishonored death of the outsider is also a fun way to just get a little more out of the dishonored universe

Have you seen the user reviews on meta critic, the games been slammed by players. Enough to put me off, this reviewer was saying on podcast Beyond that he's been talking with the developer for years. Makes me wonder whether critic reviews are out of touch... I'm certainly going to wait.
He's playing on PS5. We don't have the problems some PC users are experiencing.

Because the game isn't easy, you really have to be patient and smart playing this game in order to make progress. You have to find clues to help your plan to kill the visionaries (as you need to kill all 8 in 1 day [which is 4 set time periods]) and loop a lot of times to get get information, better weapons and other helpful materials.

IDK a lot of normal people disagree its that great. It looks really like a very average game with a time loop gimmick. Not a new concept either

This is not a 10/10 game. You are fully on rails and there is little variability to completing tasks. Its fine. Id give it a 7ish.
It's weird how positive this is but a few others like ACG said it's a "wait for sale" game
