Alright, so with my team being eliminated from EURO 2024, that will save me a lot of time now and no more late reviews like this anymore for the Acolyte. So no more super late reviews, I promise haha, that said, thankfully I didn't think this episode was all that terrible but man, 27 minutes long only? Felt almost like something from a Star Wars animated series. They've seriously got to stop with this short episode length nonsense. Anyways, who else thinks Qimir is the mystery Sith or do you think they're perhaps baiting us with this? Hmmm.

Probably a red herring tbh, even if he was the Sith. How would he have escaped, killed the wookie Jedi, and make it to the other side of the forest before anyone else? That’s what they want us to believe, but I’m not buying it.

I have plenty of criticisms with the episode in general. I will say though, the reveal of Darth Smiley was one of my favorite Star Wars villain entrances in a while.

Darth Smiley? That's hilarious, I like that name. Beats calling him mystery Sith haha and yeah it was a great entrance. Looking forward to seeing him destroy all of these Jedi (he has to, I can't see any Jedi surviving this and revealing to the council that the Sith still exist).

I'm not watching this show but how long before everybody forgets it happened?

About the same time everyone forgot about the Vespa gang in Book of Boba Fett, or the Reva show lol

It's suffering from all the same things Mando S3, Kenobi, and Fett suffered from: Inconsistent acting, writing, directing, and plot and pacing.
7-8 Jedi can't keep an eye on their tracker? That's like soap opera level plot contrivance. There's literally one person the Sith Lord could be. Better be the Master, because one Sith vs. 7-8 Jedi is laughable, let alone an Apprentice vs. that many.
There are 3 really solid performances so far: Lee, Dafne, and Manny. That's it. The rest are all inconsistent.
It sucks because the premise is amazing: Force witch impregnates her lover using the Force. That's bold. It should have been shown from the Sith POV though. Reiterating that the Jedi are how they were in the Clone Wars ain't it. We've seen that ad nauseam. What we haven't seen is what the showrunner said this was about in TONS of interviews: A show about the Sith. 4 episodes in and no it isn't.

I've reached a point where I've almost become accustomed to poor writing in live-action Star Wars. The shows have so many issues that good writing, or at least having a script doctor in the writers room could easily fix. Andor season 2 is the only series I'm looking forward to, knowing I won't have to worry about bad writing ruining the entire show.

@@SYLOStarWars It s odd. Andor wasn't just my favorite STAR WARS show, it was my favorite show of 2022. It's flawless. That's what STAR WARS deserves.
Instead we get Flea chasing Leia and space Vespa chases at 15 MPH, spin moves, and Jedi who can't keep up with a tracker.

It will be over soon. We're half way through it. I'll be surprised if it gets a season 2, but you never know!

I came up with a really good retcon regarding Mundi's age.
The lifespan of Cereans from the EU is actually based off the life span of their females. For whatever genetic quirk, male Cereans have lifespans that drastically longer then their females. By at least hundred years. Thats why male birth rates are so low because they live for so much longer.
The core reason why the history books base Cerean's live span off of their women is due to in part do to mild Humanocrentrism. The thought patterns were likely along these lines human women tend to live long then males and Cereans are just Humans with two brains and a longer crainium. Hence Cerean females must have the maxium potental life span.
Mundi's supposed birth year of 93 BBY is actually part of a cultural joke that male Cerean's have regarding them being younger then they actually are. Since Mundi was a notiable figure in both the lead up to the Clone Wars and the war itself, this joke got taken seriously by both the media and his some of his fellow Jedi.

I mean his birthday was never canon anyway, so I personally don’t see everyone’s problem with it? But that’s just me, but I feel like I lot of people are grasping at straws for anything Disney related honestly.

Unless this show showed something on the old republic id be interested but than again if Disney did go that route theyd probably just ruin it like everything else dont hate the show or actors just not getting my interest honestly

Leslie Headland I think said she wanted to do a show on the Old Republic after this... so maybe that would interest you, but if you already don't like what you're seeing on The Acolyte, I doubt you would want her touching the Old Republic.

Why the negative outlook on it lmao? What has this show “ruined”?
