  • I need storage in my truck. So I decide to design and build a set of drawers using lightweight Ali.
    In part 3, I install the drawer tops, tie down rings and cover it all in 4 way stretch carpet.

    That carpet looks a nightmare to keep clean! Love the build though, currently doing something very similar for my Jeep.

    Do you have a rough estimate on how much weight the drawers added to you vehicle?

      Hi, I don't but the idea of the ali frame and no wooden sides is too keep it as light as possible. I can move it in and out of my truck very easily on my own. I have 1 drawer for food/camping stuff and the other for tools and recovery gear, so that in itself probably weighs as much as the drawers again.

    Where did you get the components to put the aluminum tubing toughter

      I purchased them from a company called metals4u.co.uk , or just seaarch for square tube connectors 25mm . Hope that helps.
