I've seen so many vids on van life, trucking life, but I love the vintageness of the land rover. This video is beyond inspiring Dayo. I've seen other videos of yours and they're beautifully made. Maybe one day we can collaborate with our Land Rovers!

Looks super awesome man. Have you ever thought of installing some sort of a "fishnet" on the inside of the roof? I'm sure you're gain some storage room, and it'd be super discret when not in use ✌
Awesome build! I also have a Disco 2 I been buying parts for and will soon be converting it to a overland rig. Your videos give me inspiration. Love the videos, keep them coming!
You're living my dream! Totally inspired watching your videos. What's your camera/lens set up? Love how you capture natural light and the space of the car
Dayooo, thanks for this tour. Could be a villa considering the length😂. Absolutely enjoyed it; well done. AND please dont stop making videos. They bring back so many great memories and you simply have the talent for this!
The effort and the film-making behind this videos is a superb! I came looking for ideas on how to turn a Land Rover into a mini camber (I'm actually considering buying the same model you have) but I wasn't expecting such great video. Great work, both on the build and the video!
Thanks David. Always so happy when people see the effort. So cool you’re going to buy the same one. Definitely worth it. Don’t be afraid to put scratches on it ;)

Don't sell it. I had a little less time, I had to work a lot. I'm a truck driver, I'm on the road a lot and I thought it was unnecessary. but I regretted it many times. now I can start over, I have to find another one, I can buy, build a new one, etc. if its maintenance is not a big problem, don't sell it. it's not just a car, it's a feeling of life. and it suits you very well.
I had the same TD5. same colour and interior. Best car despite common opinion. Everyone said this is super non reliable car. But I always come back on wheels. Land Cruiser lovers do their nut when I tell them that. Both were same age too bought at 5 years old and sold at 10 and both had the same use of a 14 mile commute and towing a caravan. He’s got an old defender now
Currently thinking about getting a Discovery 2 to make a similar project. Did you have any problems with the rear air suspension? Looks like a lot of people are having issues with that. Any other mechanical problems to be aware of? Thanks a lot for yout videos :D
@@DayoClinckspoor Mines a 2003 Disco. The rear is gutted. Built some units and stuff in there but it doesn't work particularly well. Planning on redoing it over the winter. We use a ground tent so plenty of room for storage on the rack. I'm so clumsy I'd undoubtedly fall out of a roof tent! Have you done any outside mods to your Disco? It all obviously works very well for you. Curious as to how many Kms you have covered. TD5 is a great motor if it's looked after.
I want to do something similar to my own disco 2 TD5, at the age of 17. How do you get power around the car? Is it from the main battery? I want to use it for fridge, wifi router and air conditioning, thanks :)
No I use a powerstation, portable. With solar panel also portable. I don’t risk using my main battery. Don’t want to be stranded with empty battery haha
@@MrMorter100 depends on how hot it is, in relation with the refrigerator. 2 or 3 days maybe when it’s not that hot and maybe one night when it’s really hot.
I keep thinking about making a build for my Disco II just like that. My current setup is just a bed platform that takes the whole width of the trunk and unfolds onto the folded rear seats making a rather big 3 person bed that we used on our trip to Italy - cool, but a waste of space for a solo trip. Converting my setup to a setup similar to yours, the hardest part for me would definitely be to make heads and tails of where to put the "landy garage" stuff I usually carry with myself. But then I guess I could use stackable storage boxes instead of the standard side trim storage... Any tips for that? It's a Landy, you have to have some garage stuff somewhere, right? :D Also, your Disco being the 1999 model, it's interesting to see the two plugs on the headliner above the net-pockets. Mine is 1999 too but does not have those, yet I think they are a carry-over design from Disco I. I see that you have gone about the good old headliner problem the same way as I did :D
I’ll make sure to make a newsletter post or video soon on the conversation. Not super soon but still. I get too many emails and messages with the same questions ;) but I also use boxes where I sleep on atm. I stripped the previous build for a part. And also boxes on the roof with some gear indeed
Can I ask how tall you are and how the length of the discovery 2 is for you when sleeping inside? Can you sleep completely straight or is it not long enough?
the only room there is, is the dimention of the matras folded. for the sake of the video I think I took the matras out of the car. to show that space. in reality I switch from laying the matras where it is suppose to to sleep, and than I can sit in the car next to it, because the room is open, where the matras is usually stored and folded. do you get it? :)@@Terry-zs4ir
