thx 4 the help great vid 5 stars
Thank you! You're the man. I was sitting around the house bc I was sick. Wife complained about back toilet not flushing thoroughly--fixed it. We needed the umbrella stopper fixed. The step-by-step directions and video were exactly as you described. I followed every step of yours, and it's now fixed! You're the best. Now, I can go back to being sick.
Thank you! I thought for sure I was going to have to take apart the plumbing to pop it up from underneath, but I found your video, and I ended up needing this lubrication video as well. I can't get the drain to stay down now, but I'm okay with that. Great step by step instructions in these two videos (I've subscribed!)
Absolute genius, this had been bothering me for months, 10 minutes after watching your video, ... fixed, for good. Thank you!
Very cool!
Wow my daughter somehow managed to get the rod out of the groove in her drain. I searched all over and found your video. Very clear and detailed video. Saved me a huge headache. Thanks! Sucks that the most informative and helpful videos get very little hits while tik tokers are getting rich!
Yes I hear you, but not many tictok creators do well. It's a very small percentage. Lots of useless info on tiktok
Greetings from across the pond. This is a first class tutorial. Bravo!
Thank you! This helped a lot! I have an Anzzi faucet with a pop-up drain and yours was the closest how-to video I found. I didn't try to unscrew the whole assembly as it didn't want to budge. However, just cleaning and lubing the exposed portion of the pop-up stem as you described put the sink back in service.
Great! Glad you got it fixed. 👍
This was great, easy to follow and helped quite a bit. I would like to add one additional step to try. After I did all of this, my drain plug still got stuck down. I found that the mechanism was just setting down too low. So, I replaced the O ring with a thicker one, so that the plug couldn’t go down quite as far, and now it works!
I had the same problem as you! It was too low in the setting when it was closed but to fix it I didn't screw the bottom thread all the way down. I'll get a bigger O ring too I think.
Very concise video, easily made the mechanism feel like new. Much appreciated!
Great to hear!
Your video saved the day. Clear instructions easy to follow.
THANK YOU!!! This video was exactly what I needed!!
An excellent video.clear explanation and it solved the problem for me. Much appreciated.
Can’t seem to fit it back together such that it pope up ie fitting the cylinder together with rod in place. After posting this I have just managed it. Thanks. Excellent video and probably would never have managed it all without this video😊
Thank you so much! This thing has been driving me mad; so thanks to you I now know how to fix it. You are brilliant :)
Great to hear! Glad to help
Very helpful. Thanks. Needed cleaning inside. Pops properly now.
Glad it helped
What a guy!!! Dental Floss fixed it…Thank you so much 👍🏼😁
You're welcome 😊
Thank you. Great vid with very clear and detailed instructions. After disassembly, I soaked all the bits in a vinegar solution for a couple of hours which got them really clean. I then applied a light general lubricating oil before re-assembling. After a week it siezed up again so I used grease as per your instructions and it has worked fine ever since!
Glad it helped
This tutorial was very helpful and saved the day. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Thank you for your very clear instructions. It all went smoothly!
You are welcome!
Best step by step by far,
This was so helpful wow. It’s very tedious but works amazing!!! Thank you! I was read to buy a new pop up drain. This did the trick 😍
It is tedious and great job! 👍
Very good explanation, thx

Glad it was helpful!
Thanks. It works
You're the one! Thanks for the help!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching
The dental foss worked like a charm. :)
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Wouldn't it be easier if the manufacturers incorporated a couple of indents on the top to allow for gripping and turning by fingers or multi-grips?
As always Roland - great information!! - Rick
Thanks again!
very clear and helpful video, although I'm not a fan of these types of pop up drains, prefer the lever operated ones
Thank you for the help! :)
Super helpful thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Sir this really helped me
You're welcome 😊
Hey. Thank you gave me a nice little 30 min job. Fiddly to get together at end but VERY satisfying. Enjoyed that. Best regards. Mike s😀😀😀😀
You're welcome, 😀
Gracias 😊
You're welcome 😊
Ok but how did you get this thing out in the first place?
You unscrew it
yeh i wanna know too, but watching other videos it seems u just twist it left by hand and it will unscrew.. However i cant get it to unscrew out, not even with pliers.. Might have to change the whole dam drain since the pop up thing is stuck to the drain and wont screw out!
Having the same problem
1st try got it 🎉did the stick and hammer 🎉
I soaked mine in white vinegar for about 1/2 hour and then spent some time working it back and forth while it was still sitting in the vinegar and it came free and (knock on wood) is working great now. We'll see how long that lasts.
Thank you this saved me calling a plumber 👍🏼
Great to hear!
Hi, great video🙂. Can I use WD40 instead of the all purpose tub you used? Would that work just as good?
Yes but it won't last long.
Only thing i dont have is some all-purpose grease. I've got the spring-loaded stem and some other bits soaking in white vinegar to attack the limescale. I'll have to go with WD40 on this occasion, which is far from ideal
How did you get the whole thing out in the first place?
The pin that runs the groove is missing. Can that be purchased or the whole piece there that you removed?
Whole unit
I can't seem to get the little screw out?
The part where you screw into the sink is stuck but I got the rest out. How can I get it out? Please help.
Spray wd40 in there and use needle nose pliers
What if it doesn’t pop open?
Well I guess it's time to call a plumber
When I took out the drain stopper, the spring was already out, top is not coming off and screw is jammed up
Strange the spring is missing.
It was stuck it wouldn't go down, after watching the clip i took it apart released the mechanism, cleaned it ir seems very smooth even though i had problems with the pin .After installing it back now it's stuck in down position. 😢😢😢😢
Not good
You skipped the part on how to remove the mechanism.
Good video but what a stupid, overcomplicated, pointless design. Pop up plug was in the bath when I bought the house. My problem is that it is stuck in place and cannot be released - if I get it out it is never going back in.
I agree, best of luck with it
