I’m in my mid-thirties & the lifted phase has been going on that whole time, not goin anywhere. My dads Blazer was lifted years before I was born. They’re here to stay
@@graumail Because they start at $45000, if you can even find a regular cab short bed with the larger motors. Then you a have to modify a brand new truck to get it leveled and put street tires on. You still won't get the dramatic shifts with an 8-10 speed transmission. It is not just about speed, that ship sailed when the first model S rolled off the line.
Street truck aint never coming back, people have kids & dogs these days, the single cab work truck is dead. With a $500 tuning box my tundra lays down 600 ft/lbs of torque at 2000 RPM with 10 gears, these old 4 speeds are a joke & the least smooth thing in the world.
“Top speed probably would be limited”. Its limited in stock form. That agressive of a rear end you’re not getting very high speeds. A modern tundra has a 331 rear end & 6 more gears. This truck is about as fast as a modern turbo fullsize, difference is it gets 1/4 the mileage. Dad had one of these. He traded it for a 4 cylinder tacoma because this truck was such a pain in the ass to own. I mean when you’re doing the hill climb i think thats an equinox catching up to you
Street Truck sounds like it could have been an 80's TV show that only lasted one season with a theme song by Tangerine Dream. STREET TRUUUUCK
Ayyyy tangerine Dream!! Now that's something I haven't heard mentioned in yearssss🙏
That supercharged Triton V8 sounds the business. Murica!
I think these single cab short beds street trucks, or ones that can become street trucks, will go up in value once the lifted phase settles.

Why by the old street truck when a new work spec truck is just as quick if you buy the right brand (hint, it aint ford)

I bought my crewmax tundra in september for 38k. I’ve tested the 0-100, its faster than this truck.

As a “Ford guy”, I’ve always wanted one of these, but. I wanted an extended cab, and with a proper manual transmission…
