I’ve got this batocera so card for my deck and I absolutely love it !!! So many memories from when I was a little punk . I love this batocera so card so much I even got their 2TB hard drive with over 120000 games for my pc
Wow some collection, I for one can appreciate the time taken just to source all of these collections. I think batocera is the way to go. Definitely a demand for plug and play 😉
I've been looking at these and then youtube recommended me this video. You're in the algorithm
Would be nice if you could provide a link with your collection. It's very cool 🤩
@@dadoors1 I can't blame him for not wanting to open himself to lawsuits for illegal ROM sharing.
@@LaurenGlenn no he doesn't share games, only sell them.
i am anti IP and pro piracy but still he cant sell them because he would get arrested because we live in a shit world where IP exists but maybe someday the sheeple will wake up and change the government
@@dadoors1 I second Arcade punks. This guy mentions the collection but doesn't give credit to the creator. All this proves is that he can use Etcher.
He sold it to arcade punks
Nice work, any plans on making this available at some point, site or arcade punks?

Amazing work.. I greatly appreciate you sharing this with us.
Thanks for your kind words!
Detroit here also. Cool tattoo
CO-leeco Vision. :)
No worries. This looks like a great collection. Nicely done. Wish people sold such a collection online. I'd pay money for just this.
How many GB was this specific sd card and also can you change the themes and music for the layout? Jw thanks great vid
Love my Sinden light guns.
Sometimes on certain games you must start the game then you can join in with gun 2.
Good job, brother! Looks sick.
Thanks man happy holidays
Looks great, thanks for the hard work 👍
Having recently put together a 128gb Batocera image I cannot stress how much time and effort these things take to create and get everything running correctly. Well done.
Thanks so nice to see a comment where somebody understandswhat goes into it and doesn't just say what's the point of showing this 😂. Point is simply to show what can be done.
@@RetroGamingGuy people don't seem to understand the amount of effort that it takes to create these images. From sourcing the correct rom-sets, renaming all of your ROMs to "clean" names and scraping for days on end...honestly, it takes a tremendous amount of patience. Personally I'd upload my 128gb image if I could find a simple way of doing it: I approached ArcadePunks about hosting it but they never replied but a 1TB image takes a monumental among of effort and time. Well done. Now that I know what I'm doing with Batocera it would probably take me less than half the time of someone who hasn't done it before, but the effort is crazy and ultimately it is worth it.
I'd argue that everyone should try and do this, the sense of satisfaction is overwhelming.
It takes quite a lot of time and effort having everything set up correctly and running, for me like 90% of the fun comes from this process 😂, I spend more time at set up than playing afterwards, just finish an 128 SD card and still not satisfied with my FB neo arcade collection, was a pain to get rid of bootleg, clones etc and just leave the region of the rom I wanted (some have specific extra hidden stuff on Japanese version only), get the bezels up with correct aspect ratio etc then scrap the videos description that takes ages with a huge list, right now I have over 1500 games on the collection after cleaning it up a bit, that's still way to many games, all the real old for instance 80s era don't really hold up for me anymore unless they are absolute classics like pacman, some other collections are easier to manage like SNES or N64 that the game list while big are not insane, currently I am deciding if I should just go all the way with batocera and get rid of emulation station since batocera has catched up nicely on the steam deck and seems it's only going to get better.
@@morid0 Agreed. The beauty of batocera is you can make an image of your drive once you've got everything the way you want it and transfer it to other machines. This lets you take, say an old laptop or something and turn it into essentially an arcade machine. I made 128gb drive and like you am still having problems with some FB neo ROMs (SF alphas in particular) but it's pretty much there now. To set up a 1TB drive must be a monumental undertaking.
@@bill5974 Had same issues with some of the street fighters from FB neo rom set, I gave up and work around is to use MAME for those, so I have a list of some games that use MAME instead of FB NEO since I still needed MAME to run killer instict and tekken etc. Yeah I agree, 1TB Image if you really go trough the trouble of properly set it up I cant imagine how much time you would need to sink in it, but once done must be really satisfying, I dont think I would ever try to set up more than a 256gb, basically planning on just copy my currenty 128 in a 256gb SD card and add more psp, gamecube and ps2 games.
Edit: Oh I also forgot the pain it is for some games you need to download extra files like bios and what not for them to run probperly.
Oh hey, another Batocera related video on Steam Deck!
Best time of the year to really remind me of how I was called an idiot when mentioning the idea of using Batocera on the Steam Deck Subreddit! Hell yeah, let's go!
Batocera is really cool, probably ppl made a fuzz because right now emudeck de is a superior experience due to convinience and that you can use it while running steam OS so you have access to plug in options and standby when you press power button easy to switch to your steam library etc, other than that I prefer batocera, it's a more polished experience for emulation overall, when they finally release a stable version and iron out the bugs it's gonna be epic.
@@morid0 Yeah, Emudeck seemed to be quite literally the only arguement everyone brought up. Practically fucking whining about it, too.
At one point I figured it's best to just let go, fuck 'em.
Can you put hyperspin on it if you know or heard of it, going to see if i can on my ayaneo 2 when it comes, very popular in arcade scene..
Dammit and i was just about to get the build too...
Nice collection. Just wondering what theme you are using here?
Artflix
This video might be just 13 minutes but I can understand the hours that you spent for this video. Thanks a lot man. Planning to get steam deck once its available in india
Good job, dude!
Thanks!!
Wish I knew how to do things like this
I got a Video tutorial on how I did it
Did you manually install all those or is there some way to install all those at once?
Manually but you can often times find big collections together the bad part is usually a lot don't work so you have to test and replace along the way
So can you find these giant packs online or did you actually „collect“ each game one by one?
Thats what I'm wondering is there like a preconfigured build for the sd card that can be downloaded somewhere
You can usually find collections in archive and then go collection by collection but i handpicked everything a whole back and then I'm able to drop them in as I want. No real shortcuts. Everything takes a lot of time. Usually the big rom dumps have a lot that doesn't work
@@RetroGamingGuy exactly the big rom dumps have glitchy roms non no-intro multiples cause it's not cleaned up, and in my case half my ps1 games were in Portuguese with no English option in the settings it was a weird thing g to see cause even most original ps1 games had different language options in the settings but apparently Portuguese disc's don't and that's what I been looking for
@@RetroGamingGuy also everytime I goto do a collection in archives it sends me to a torrent dl and that flags me with isp
Good video, appreciate you taking to time to go over so many details. I am not very familiar with Batocera builds. I think I am gonna have to spend a couple minutes researching it now haha.
Normal collection that been scraped lol. I love batocera. But recently I been using retrobat. You can still run all your steam games and other pc games while retro goodness
Awesome build!
I cannot believe how big this collection is and can't imagine how long it took to put it together. Thank you for showing it. Also, you could sell micro sd cards (1tb) with the whole collection. I would be the happiest person if I can get my hands on one, plus it would support your amazing work so it's a win win.
Hey there, thanks for the kind words in your comment. Refreshing to see when so many are hostile asking what the point of the video is. Definitely took weeks and many hours to create. Shoot me an email through website just mention your youtube name.
Man! Copy That Ssdcard! Like a Pro! And sell it round the world! When it all works on Steam Deck.I'm the first one who wanna buy one!

Hello… is there anyway you can show adding a save file into batocera… for some reason I can’t get save files to show up in the same :/
Would have been nice if they made another micosd slot
True bet we see that on the second version
If I get 1.5 sd card, can I switch games? Also is this Linux or can I run batocera on legion go? Do you sell it?
Hey, love your videos and im sure your builds are excellent, I tried downloading your 512GB batocera build for steam deck but whenever I download it I get errors in packing. Downloaded from AP. Is there anywhere else I can DL this. Build?
Awesome 👌 built 👏 the deck 😎 keep getting better I hope the 2 deck more compact plus more pro features 👍
More compact would be super stupid, sorry.
If you want compact get a gpd win 3,4.
The next Steamdeck should have more screen and a bigger battery, so the size better stays the same but gets better components that have more performance in the same package.
A battery with higher density and a screen where the huge bezel is replaced by a screen up until the edge of the device and the side of the touchpads and of course a higher resolution and better pixel density.
More brightness would be also nice for outside summer gaming.
I also would love to get a better and newer APU with higher clock rates and more video ram and a option for 32gig RAM. Unfortunately steam doesn’t want to change anything about the hardware yet.
I understand their stance, but some people don’t really care about power draw when they are playing at home where the next power outlet is near.
You can always limit power output when your on the go, so no problem there.
So yes it’s nice that the devs can optimize for the specific power draw of the existing hardware, but quite a few people care for high end graphics. (unfortunately I am one of those people)
Price shouldn’t be an issue, they encountered that they get the most sales on the most expensive model, which to me is the only viable option, because the screen reflection on the others is absolutely annoying to me.
Let it cost 1100-1300$ and people will definitely buy it as a super powerful steam deck option.
If you manage to develop a really high fidelity APU graphics unit or maybe even manage to get a dedicated gpu chip on their I would buy it in a heartbeat!
Develop some magic cooling solutions and put mobile RTX chips on there somehow and something like a Ryzen 9 6900HS with amazing 35 watt power draw.
If a magic cooling solution is somehow found the optimum would of course be the overclockable 6900HX!
Now that would be my dream handheld, but unfortunately even thick 17“ gaming laptops with those chips are thermal throttling, so a handheld with that much usable( focus on usable, you could technically cramp such stuff in a handheld somehow but it would run at ridiculous low performance since it’ll start throttling directly after booting) power is not feasible in the next 5-8 years.
Maybe it’ll never be feasible if we can’t figure out more efficient hardware and better cooling solutions.
@@rolux4853 I think Valve is right to wait on changing any hardware specs for a while. The cost to performance ratio of the steam deck is very good and Valve hasn't had great hardware launches in the past. Valve hit a sweet spot with the deck and they are right to "not fix what aint broke". I predict end of 2023 we will hear some whisperings about the deck 2 or a pro version deck. Even then it will be 1 year away I'd guess though.
Hope it has Hydro Thunder, double dash, melee, and mario party 6 & 7 7:44
Do you have one retroarch for windows with 1 tb?
The process would be pretty similar if not the same.
Where do you get all the 2200 games ?
Most of that 1tb is those 600 ps1 games id say
Not really the ps1 games don't take up much space. You can get a lot of them on a card without losing much space
It's got VIZ my favourite Atari ST game from when i was a kid. Based off a really rude and vulgar British adult comic. with the fat slags and buster gonads. quality. Could you please do a tutorial on how you did the layout showcasing all the games???
The layout uses the artflix theme but I have a tutorial on how the build was made. It doesn't go in depth on every single collection but shows the process
@@RetroGamingGuy perfect I’ll try to look for that tutorial
Which version of batocera are you using to run on the steam deck?
Version 35
How does sega model 2 and 3 and ps3 games run.😊
I am extracting mine now. I think it is the same build. But I have 2 steamdecks so am gonna put mine on a 1 terabyte SSD and just have a steamdeck dedicated to this. No oled. Both my decks are LCD but have 2 terabytes in my main one and also have a 2 terabyte ROG Ally so pointless buying a steamdeck OLED imo. They only gain would be the screen which tbh I am happy with my screens. especially the ROG Ally. So I hope the installation goes OK. Co's these mostly go on SD cards so we shall see if it works. Cannot see why not. Then I will have a steamdeck for steam games and a Steamdeck for all these ROMs. which will be awesome. Will I play it seens I have a PC steam deck Rog ally and a quest 3. we shall see if I have time. But at least it will be there. I will definitely have a play with it no doubt. Sorry I don't do neat paragraphs Lmao. EDIT I mean the only real gain is the screen compared to my ROG ally. I know it has other improvemkents ioover the LCD steamdeck.

Does this have light gun support for Sinden?
Yep
@@RetroGamingGuy any idea if the Sinden Arcade Pedal also works with Batocera?
Great video I just need access to Roms
Someone is selling this kind of setup for $140 cash I really don't have the time or energy to do this kind of setup on my deck and it's advertised as plug in play should I buy it?
One thing I'd look at is a 1tb card is $125 from sandisk just for the card. Nobody would sell for $13 more with all the work it takes to create so it wouldn't be sandisk or genuine at that price. You don't want generic cards as they crap out and corrupt very easily. That's my only reservation. Beyond that it makes life much easier to be able to just dive into games rather than building all this from scratch.
@@RetroGamingGuy I agree with this and will definitely buy the 1tb card I have the 64gb version

What is the most compatable MAME romset for the steamdeck??
I have had a lot of success with the MAME 2003 Plus set. Everything seemed to work just fine, even Robotron 2084 lets you move around with the left stick and fire anywhere you want with the right stick, the way it was at the arcade! Some sets or devices don't seem to do this right.
