Thanks so much for this, it's not just helpful for Hasselblad repair but it's great for learning how a Hasselblad works on the inside

great video, makes us 'owners' appreciate them a whole lot more, for the beautiful mechanics inside; and THANKYOU for not pulling any punches (um-HM, like Mikano-62), everything off, NO timelapsing footage, and what screw goes where, GREAT JOB.

Thank you so much for these videos Jim!
I made a boo-boo on my 500C, I opened the barn doors cap (like you said not to, was already done by time I found this video) and the spring popped out, I coiled it back in after alot of patience but I fear i've not got the tension correct. I'll send mine off for professional repair, a shame i'm in the UK or i'd love to send it to you.

Great video mate, looking forward to the other parts. Unlikely I'll ever get into servicing Hassleblad's, but cool to see its not so scary inside.

Thank You. It is a simple and very complicated system at the same time. It does not take much to have things go very wrong very quickly.

Looks like a watch mainspring from ab initial scan through the video.. a large size of pocket watch or a K& D adjustable mainspring winder might work nicely for reinstallation of that spring without distorting it.
    Thank you for posting it.

While watching I thought, "oh, that looks pretty easy." Then he ran into the spring problem and then the disassembly and it escalated from there. After a while I thought "nope" not even going to try if I ever had to.

Gracias. Esta cámara puede parecer fácil pero es muy difícil de reparar. Llevo 38 años haciéndolo.

Love your craft :) I'd be super into learning the ins and outs of dismantling and re-assembling hasselblads so I can learn how everything works under-the-hood. Is there some sort of workshop or class you teach? How were you able to learn so much about the internals of classic 500-series bodies?

It is what I have been doing for 35 years. Go on Facebook and join Learn Camera Repair group, they are looking into workshops.

I was so surprised with how you did not have to peel off the leatherette, and how quickly you were able to dismantle the old girl

Disassembly is easy, reassemble is much more difficult.

Hi there great video thank you for sharing. Am asking for advice as my hasselblad 500 cm all of a sudden the shutter jammed and can’t roll the side knob to release. I looked it up and the lens lines were aligned and it was the lens. I came to realize later that the the inner blinds get stuck open for a while before closing. Not sure if it’s clear but if you happen to know the reason would appreciate your input and answer

Old grease and oil usually cause issues. When lubrication gets old, levers and gears don't move correctly and can cause cameras to jam. Do not force a jammed Hasselblad, nasty things happen when too much force is applied. Send it in for service.

hi great vid. i've put the housing frame back on - but now when i try to take the housing off again it won't budge....any suggestions??

    • @ictcamera560
      @ictcamera560  Рік тому +1

If the mirror up lever is not installed correctly the housing will catch on the body. That is one thing to check.

What type-size of screwdriver, used for the screws on the back of the A12 back?

hi - where are you located? I have a 2000 FCW in nice condition EXCEPT for the fact that prior to knowing how to correclty use this beautiful device, and being somewhat distracted while switching lenses, I forgot to re cock the shutter, forced the lense off the camera. lense is healthy, however the shutter release no longer fires the shutter. If I were able to open the case, or confident that I could get it back together I would be willing to wager that there is nothing 'broken' inside, but am no expert. I hate to just toss this camera, can;t find anyone to touch it either. so, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. the camera is something I inherited from my father, and the legacy aspect of this is eating me up. thanks thanks thanks, Rob
