    Your videos are amazing. Thank you for sharing them. Repairs and cleaning would be impossible without your work. For people who have trouble getting the gear in at 9:37 it appears that if you seat the "cup" and lever, then rotate the cup clockwise about 30-45 degrees, then place the gear in, it's slightly easier due to the lack of a wall on the cup on that side. To say it another way, the cup doesn't have a wall from the 7'oclock to about 11'clock position in its resting position; if you rotate it so the gap is from the 9-1 o'clock position and the put in the gear approaching from 4-5 o'clock, it slides in under the level much more easily.

    What keeps all the little screws from eventually backing out? I guess they are so precisely threaded no need for thread lock?

      I have never had an issue and many times the residual glue is plenty

    Hello Jim: Thank you for your step by step explanation. From 5:26 on teeth wheels were mashed together for the correct timing of barn door opening/closing sequence. Before disassembling you performed a basic check and said that basically it was O.K.; only need to lube and possibly small adjustment. Then you found that there was a timing issue. Was it that the mashing of teeth wheels was off by one tooth? So the operation tolerance might be one tooth, camera could still work "marginally" until the friction increase to the point that lower barn door would close tight by chance? Another question is: can we correct the lower barn door not completely close by tighten one more turn? It seems that the front plate must be loosen to break the linkage. Will this action destroy the correct focusing alignment? Or an optical alignment should be performed after this lube/adjustment?

    Hallo Jim, great Video! I got a Problem with my Hasselblad 500c. When I press the shutter, the mirror come's very very slowly up. When the mirror is up and I press the shutter again, the two claps at the back are closing. Do you have any idea what's the problem is? Thanks a lot, looking forward to your next video! Greetings from Germany.

      I have seen issues like that and it really needs a complete overhaul. The greases are getting thick and sticky slowing down and even stopping the mechanisms. Someone will have to do the level of repair I did in the video to get it back to proper working order.

      @@ictcamera560 Hallo Jim, thank's for your quick answer! If I don't find someone here in Germany, is it possible to send the camera to your Repair Shop? Or do you accept orders only from the US? Have a nice day. Cheers, Henning

    What over the counter grease would you recommend for those doing it themselves?

      I don't do over the counter grease. Go to Micro-Tools and buy grease that is made for cameras.

    working on the Hasselblad now and had a question. I lost the Ering for the transport arm. that spring detrimental for functionality?

    • @joshuabsoul1252
      @joshuabsoul1252 Рік тому

      18:45 you start to discuss the spring I am talking about

    • @ictcamera560
      @ictcamera560  Рік тому

      The one thing I learned about these cameras, nothing is put in them that are not supposed to be there. That spring is extremely important for functionality, particularly the timing of the mech and blinds. The thing with Hasselblad is almost everything has more that one function and the timing needs to be exact or bad things will happen.

      @ictcamera560 yikes. After hours, i still can not find that e-ring. I may have to get a parts camera to salvage from. I can not tell you how great it is to have a resource like your video! Thank you for your insight, experience, and response. It's seriously appreciated! 🙏

    How quickly do the Swedish Technicians put it all together in the Factory do you think ? PS - Being Swedish are the Screwdrivers JIS or European standard ?

      Hasselblad camera uses slotted head screws unless someone replaced one.
