I got to see them on tour a bit over 10 years ago when they came through Raleigh NC right after their collaboration album came out....WOW. I think that was Plant's first time back on stage in a while and it showed because he was fired up. Just prowling the stage like a predator, completely comfortable, big smile on his face and loving every second of it. It was amazing. They did this song and it was the highlight of the show.
I regret that I have only one 👍 to give this beautiful performance. I love the haunting, middle-eastern flavor of the fiddle parts and the intensity of the all-tom drums. Robert Plant is as powerful as ever.
Yesterday the cargo ship ran into the Francis Scott Key bridge. A sight that I saw many times yesterday. Today, because I like this song, it automatically came up on UA-cam. I heard this song of impending disaster and all I could hear was, "If it keeps on coming, the bridge is going to go" with the violin making the sounds of metal breaking apart. This is an amazing song that sounds prophetic today.
I enjoyed this greatly. The power of Zep's version, mainly meaning Page's guitar and Bonzo's epic drumming and of course the vocal. However, this is subtly done and has a mystical quality and sound that makes it work great. Bravo!
Plant is smart. He’s not going out like Coverdale, and Vince Neil, and making a fool of himself. He’s going to use the voice he has, and use it so well, no one even notices the key it’s in. Brilliant…

Robert Plant has always had a beautiful voice. I don’t even know how to rationalize his voice in human terms. I really feel like he raises his vibrations to reach the divine and brings down some of that light in his voice. It’s otherworldly and I can’t explain it.
Evocative, haunting; an awesome imagining of the near 100 year old classic set to neo-celtic melodies. Then Robert added Moroccan and Indian and gawd knows what else. and we have magic like this.
Turning a blues standard into a middle eastern ceremonial trance number ... what an arrangement.
The Lion roars', the lady sings' and goosebumps the size of the Rockies emerge! Jay Bellerose on that old beat up pieced together set of 30's drums is legendary!!
Robert and Alison’s voices are epic together.
yes they have it dont they the magic that special magic between two people percy you deserve it
Yeah.. But! It ain't the Sensational Space Shifters..
She's a Beauty. 👌🏻

Page and Nixon are jealous😏
I got to see them on tour a bit over 10 years ago when they came through Raleigh NC right after their collaboration album came out....WOW. I think that was Plant's first time back on stage in a while and it showed because he was fired up. Just prowling the stage like a predator, completely comfortable, big smile on his face and loving every second of it. It was amazing. They did this song and it was the highlight of the show.
Celebrate today
One of the best tracks I’ve ever heard and live too.
Wow ❤️🔥🎻 EVERYTHING about this was amazing. It was an experience to listen and watch this!
Definitely
Such a haunting and beautiful rendition of this classic!!!
@Robert Plant I am wonderful!!!
I just love everything this band does. Love that ancient drum kit. Another 100 years for Robert and Alison.
LOL! No only a few more for Robert! Sorry!
Truly superb version of this incredible song surrounded by just the best musicians and of course Roberts amazing vocals. 👌👌👌👌
beyond beautiful - thank you Robert and Allison and Band - Amazing
Thank you Alison for your awesome violin shredding that human words cannot explain how good it is for our soul !
Love the way she brings in a different violin piece from the Led Zeppelin song "Friends" into this 3:04, from Led Zeppelin III
I was looking for anyone else in the comments you noticed'Friends' quote!
Robert plants voice is the soundtrack of my life . Thank you for all the joy you’ve brought to my years on this earth . ❤️
Plant and Allison work and sound awesome together, and Plant still has it, sounds great ❤️👍, Nice to hear friends off of Zeppelin 3 , underrated song.
Absolutely mesmerizing.
I enjoyed this greatly. The power of Zep's version, mainly meaning Page's guitar and Bonzo's epic drumming and of course the vocal. However, this is subtly done and has a mystical quality and sound that makes it work great. Bravo!
It was interesting to see them mix the riff from 'freinds' as well.
The arrangement works well with an older singer's voice, which often times I prefer over his forced younger voice
what that drummer played was incredible so perfect for the song, yet its not even thinking about trying to be bonhams part.
Plant is smart. He’s not going out like Coverdale, and Vince Neil, and making a fool of himself. He’s going to use the voice he has, and use it so well, no one even notices the key it’s in. Brilliant…
@@allendean9807 Agree completely. Plant knows where his abilities are at now and doesn't reach as if he was still in his twenties. Very smart indeed. Plus I think it is appreciated by older fans like myself hearing him embrace change and age without losing his talent. Just moving on to another phase of a great career.
Robert Plant has always had a beautiful voice. I don’t even know how to rationalize his voice in human terms. I really feel like he raises his vibrations to reach the divine and brings down some of that light in his voice. It’s otherworldly and I can’t explain it.
The best Glastonbury performance in recent years. Obviously! It somehow manages to invoke the folk music of most of the planet.
only realised after the 10th listening or so how the drums are like the thunder before the rain.............awesome.
Evocative, haunting; an awesome imagining of the near 100 year old classic set to neo-celtic melodies. Still, I had a hard time getting Bonham out of my head hammering the drums of Valhalla to the original Zeppelin rendition. Great work by Krauss, Plant and those who composed this amazing interpretation.
OMG….BRILLIANT reimagining……and i LOVED the inclusion of that haunting riff from “Friends”.
Yesss
Yeah, that was a cool touch
Definitely the cherry on top to this performance
What a fantastic reimagining of this song. Krause, Plant and the entire band are in great form.
73 and still bringin' it.
Hi I just wanted to thank you again for being so supportive and following me on my journey. I love inspiring and encouraging others. People like you help me to keep showing up! Hope you are having an amazing day!!!
I love how the arrangement works kashmir in. Brilliant.
Absolutely amazing rendition of this song! Incredible! Amazing talent!
Saw them in Cary NC on Jun 14th. Huge crowd. Couldn't see a thing. No jumbo screen. But I heard the music and it was phenomenal ‼️ Robert Plant is still a giant among giants.
Two of my favorite people doing what they do best.Their talents are incredible 🤩
I love the amazing energy of this setting. The flags flying everywhere, like Tibetan prayer flags. Pure magic.
I love Allison Krauss..both her voice and her fiddle playing- she has become the Linda Ronstadt of the 2020s...she has such a beatific look on her face too that belies the enchanting magic she is providing together with Robert Plant..fantastic! I saw them a week laster at the BST Hyde Park as special guests of the Eagles and they were as good if not even better..
Have been a fan of LZ since I bought the first LP, but there is not enough mention here of Alison Krauss, a great artist in her own right, and one who I never thought a guitar-loving Rock fan could come to admire, but here I am. We can all be "Friends".
Amazing.....These two ...working together... have created some beautiful work.
