The thing that separates Plant from so many other classic rock musicians is the songs he play evolve and become new arrangements as opposed to just playing the same old songs the same old way. We saw that when Page and Plant got together in 1994 and he continues to do the same with every band he's been in since. Its always been about the music for the members of Led Zep so I wish these other classic rock musicians who haven't written or arranged a new song in decades would do the same. But they just dont have the talent or the creativity.
I got to see them on tour a bit over 10 years ago when they came through Raleigh NC right after their collaboration album came out....WOW. I think that was Plant's first time back on stage in a while and it showed because he was fired up. Just prowling the stage like a predator, completely comfortable, big smile on his face and loving every second of it. It was amazing. They did this song and it was the highlight of the show.
Have been a fan of LZ since I bought the first LP, but there is not enough mention here of Alison Krauss, a great artist in her own right, and one who I never thought a guitar-loving Rock fan could come to admire, but here I am. We can all be "Friends".
I love Allison Krauss..both her voice and her fiddle playing- she has become the Linda Ronstadt of the 2020s...she has such a beatific look on her face too that belies the enchanting magic she is providing together with Robert Plant..fantastic! I saw them a week laster at the BST Hyde Park as special guests of the Eagles and they were as good if not even better..
Absolutely soul shaking. Robert Plant gets better with every day and every performance. These two are a perfect compliment. Alison Kraus did something new and exciting to the Norse god of usic.
God Bless Robert Plant. I LOVE this version..feel it takes me back to times long ago...way back and then farther than that...I can feel the flood waters coming
Evocative, haunting; an awesome imagining of the near 100 year old classic set to neo-celtic melodies. I have no words. Wow. Just wow!! Whoever Allison is looking at while she was playing is very lucky. She was smoldering!!
Psychedelic atmosphere is incredible in this version
They are magical together.
I love that man. Did anybody else notice that about halfway through the song, the band started playing the melody from "Friends" on Led Zeppelin III?
Two of the best fiddlers on the planet playing there
Love the way she brings in a different violin piece from the Led Zeppelin song "Friends" into this 3:04, from Led Zeppelin III
I was looking for anyone else in the comments you noticed'Friends' quote!
I will play this 1000 times
This is so great version, I got shivers in my spine!
Wow ❤️🔥🎻 EVERYTHING about this was amazing. It was an experience to listen and watch this!
Definitely
OMG….BRILLIANT reimagining……and i LOVED the inclusion of that haunting riff from “Friends”.
Yesss
Yeah, that was a cool touch
Definitely the cherry on top to this performance
Excellence, Exquisitely Elevated to the realms of Heaven! Thank You Sir Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and your entire Ensemble! ❤️
Such a haunting and beautiful rendition of this classic!!!
@Robert Plant I am wonderful!!!
Goosebumps!!! Man that was awesome!!
Celebrate today
Have been a fan of LZ since I bought the first LP, but there is not enough mention here of Alison Krauss, a great artist in her own right, and one who I never thought a guitar-loving Rock fan could come to admire, but here I am. We can all be "Friends".
One of the best tracks I’ve ever heard and live too.
Awesome individually and together!
Absolutely soul shaking. Robert Plant gets better with every day and every performance. These two are a perfect compliment. Alison Kraus did something new and exciting to the Norse god of usic.
amazing, Rob at 73 years old, long life God bless ya
McCartney and Ross nothing compared to this man no big gangs of backing singers pure music pure voices love it 🙏💙🌈
This Glastonbury is mind blowing.
It has been. I’ve been watching and every performance that I’ve seen has been fantastic.
God Bless Robert Plant. I LOVE this version..feel it takes me back to times long ago...way back and then farther than that...I can feel the flood waters coming
beyond beautiful - thank you Robert and Allison and Band - Amazing
Thank you Alison for your awesome violin shredding that human words cannot explain how good it is for our soul !
That was freaking AMAZING!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Robert plants voice is the soundtrack of my life . Thank you for all the joy you’ve brought to my years on this earth . ❤️
Evocative, haunting; an awesome imagining of the near 100 year old classic set to neo-celtic melodies. Still, I had a hard time getting Bonham out of my head hammering the drums of Valhalla to the original Zeppelin rendition. Great work by Krauss, Plant and those who composed this amazing interpretation.
Robert Plant outstanding and unique Artiste’
Truly superb version of this incredible song surrounded by just the best musicians and of course Roberts amazing vocals. 👌👌👌👌
Absolutely amazing rendition of this song! Incredible! Amazing talent!
This is my fifth time watching this in the last 24 hours. Incredible. Just. Wow.
Plant and Allison work and sound awesome together, and Plant still has it, sounds great ❤️👍, Nice to hear friends off of Zeppelin 3 , underrated song.
