Robert Plant has transformed into the distant king of some lost Tolkien story over the years, and I'm all for it. Forever awesome, these two are great together.
@@tronmartin1 The similarity of the range and tone of vocals, musical influence is definitely there. I'm sure Plant, arguably one of the best vocalist in what ever genre he sings, is flattered.
My brother took me to a LED-ZEPPELIN Concert in April of 1977 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan,it was my first concert,I WAS 11 YEARS OLD!! STILL REMEMBER IT AS IF IT WERE YESTERDAY,ALMOST 50 YErs ago and listen to that VOICE,THANK YOU ROBERT PLANT FOR THE GREATEST ROCK-BAND EVER!!!
Word has it that at that concert someone jumped onto the stage in front of Robert Plant and Robert Plant put his foot up and send the guy back into the audience..any truth to this?
@@rontalbot311 lol I saw Zep in 73 at MSG and trust me, if I could have jumped on stage to be near RP, I would have, even if his foot pushed me back. It was different back in the day, security wasn’t what it is today. If that’s what he felt he needed to do for safety or whatever reason, so be it
Not really its a shell of its former self still great mind you but he lowers the keys he Is not 19 anymore still pleasant to be sure but lets be honest it not his prime
Yes. That was great. Eerie mood, subtle build and a killer ending. Plant still sounds like Robert Plant, without trying to emulate 25 year-old Robert Plant. And Alison is Alison- what a voice. When they play Zep song, they don't "cover" them. They time travel, and delve into the roots and inspirations of the songs.
Well said. Reaching back and forward at the same time...he's eclipsed his myth with Alison & the band to create something so authentic, it feels as if it's been around for a very long time, yet is so fresh in the moment in their delivery. True musicians, the lot of them, and I'm so grateeful to have witnessed it
The man who has endlessly professed to be constantly moving forwards musically - but for very obvious reasons, cannot deny his memorable, historic past.
Yes he once said he didn't want to be reduced to being a jukebox playing old hits ! He doesn't want to sing these with Jimmy and jpj as he has turned down many chances to jam with the boys!.... now not saying I don't like what he's doing now because I love it! Glad he's still got the fire in his belly rock on!
What an incredible legacy Robert Plant has established with his passion for beautiful storytelling in musical form. I believe a hundred years from now, Robert's music will be savored like that of a Beethoven or Mozart. And thank you, Alison, for your great contribution to this great music.
Ok. I'm sitting here w tears rolling down my cheeks. Robert sounds amazing. He's so talented. I'm definitely going to buy tickets to this show when they come!!! 😊🎉
One of my all-time favorite Zep tunes. I was a massive Zep fan all through High School and college. I was seriously bummed when Bonzo died and they decided to call it quits.
I find myself watching this several times. Beautiful. His "Can't Let Go Tour" is just aces. Thank you, Robert. I love what youve done with timeless Led Zeppelin.. ❤
We were privileged to see them do this in Hershey on the Outlaw Fest. I'm getting chill hearing it again. I think this is best example of why they work so well together. I never thought I'd hear this live with Plant on vocals so it is magical, but Alison brings so much to the version - as does the band.
Superb! It gives me the same thrills as when I first heard it all those years ago. I totally agree the combination of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss is absolutely wonderful!
Amazing how the timber and strength of RP’s voice has not failed him even in old age….truly magnificent! The golden king! Alison such a perfect compliment with her vocal and musical talent! So love their music together.
This put me back in my Datsun 210 Station Wagon jammin' to this in a tape player...no cell phone, no internet, no patriot act, no school shootings, you know all the good times before the progressives took complete control.
Man was that cool! Yes, Robert's voice is still better than one might expect from a 75 year old. I had been wondering if and when the two of them might take on The Battle of Evermore, and this is a first class rendition! I first learned of his and Allison's collaboration back in 2009, when a buddy of mine gave me the Raising Sand CD. I was going through a very pivotal point in my life, which over the next two years involved getting married and having a child, and that album just really spoke to me during that time. Thank you Kenz Vidz, thank you Allison, and thank you Robert!
Robert Plant has transformed into the distant king of some lost Tolkien story over the years, and I'm all for it. Forever awesome, these two are great together.
Love this!
^^^^this!!
I personally think he's the next Gandalf...
I didn't realize how much meaning and depth their lyrics contained until I learn more about ancient megaliths and such
Your Tolkien reference is so spot on. From way back in their early days….
Robert Plant’s voice is as strong as ever…amazing! Warms my heart
You know, I was thinking pretty much the same thing, many singers of that generation have pretty much lost their voices but he hasn't.
@@GoldenFava It's totally different than it once was, but it still has a special quality to it
Agreed - his tone is absolutely faithful to that voice we all know and love. His harmonisation with Alison is wonderful.
Well I wouldn't say as strong as ever, but he does a good a job.
This song exemplifies why these two are so magical together.
Robert Plant, the greatest vocalist of Rock history.
He’s certainly on the short list
Also one of the best blues performers.
One of the best!!
It seems silly that they have compared the vocals of Greta Van Fleet to him. GVF has good vocals but not very versatile, not like Robert.

Mr. Plant is like a wine, the older, the better. So is this song.

Out of All the slower Led Zeppelin’s songs This is Definitely One of My Favorites
And rain song is even more magical!
@@daveburns3886 they are both very good songs
Krauss is singing the part sung in the recording we are all familiar with by the outstanding Sandy Denny. She’s worthy of it.
He may be in his 70s now but he's still got it.
Plants voice has never sounded better than it does today. Really enjoy their work together .

He's held up better than Jagger...

Is it even possible to be more legendary than this man? Amazing song still after so many years.
a masterpiece, in its original version. still gives me goose bumps
Mandolin is a wonderful instrument
It has a haunting sound and how many more times.
I have seen Allison Krauss in concert. Extraordinary talent. Plant's timeless voice and career are a gift to R&R. An impressive duet!
They compliment each other so well.
You mean “complement”, not compliment. Learn the difference.
@@judeirwin2222 OUCH! A spelling error made it through and war is declared?
Plant is incredible for his age. He still sounds like Robert Plant...and there will never be another one. What a gift he was given.
Love them both, each has a unique style and sound. Together they have a magic.
Oh My God. Gorgeous! I have loved this song since I first heard it as a boy back in the 70's, but Alison enhances this when she joins Robert. Love it!
Two of the most amazing voices of our time!
Allison has an incredible voice
At the end of the show Robert said Alison was an angel that saved him
Brilliant and very difficult for new collaborators!
Thank you, Allison, Robert, and Kenz. My soul connects with music, also!!!!!!!
My thoughts exactly. She doesn't need Robert Plant. And she has always sung like an angel.
Absolutely magnificent ‼️‼️‼️

Robert and Alison compliment one another perfectly. Thank you both and keep it up.
That is hands down the best version of that song!!!😂😂
Kudos to both of them!! Outstanding!!!
Too slow.
RP sounds good here - live at the venue his voice is still so strong. He is magnificent.
Once again..... a tastefully well done performance!
I saw them in Taos last year; easily one of the best performances I have ever seen.

Love this version. Not sure who the backing band is but they do a fabulous job of not overplaying. They let Allison and Robert carry the load
