Grew up smoking weed and listening to Led Zeppelin. Bravo!
Grew up listening to Led Zep and not smoking weed. Bravo.
Just look at him. Still a golden God all these year later, and singing like he is still with zeppelin.
One of the most beautiful voices in Rock & Roll. True artistry. They don't make artists like this anymore. Pure talent.
I love him!!!!
Siiii
TRUE!!!
Thanking God Robert Plant came through this planet in my life time.
I thought the same thing about Elvis and the Beatles. Thankful.
personally im glad _i_ was born in _his_
Seeing him live a year ago was amazing 🧖💕💕💕
@@michelleelizabeth1063 Yes. I saw him with Allison Krauss but also with Led in 1969. Still an amazed fan.
I met the man along with my 12 year daughter. He was a class act and a gentleman. Very gracious.
Still sounds fantastic 51 YEARS later!!!
True
If you didn’t grow up in the seventies, you missed a hell of a lot! Decade of the greatest music ever played. Nothing today compares to seventies rock music, today; it’s called classic rock.
Agreed. So glad i grew up in the 60's 70's. The best music.
Wow, what a surprise. Person who grew up in specific decade thinks that decade had the best music, haven’t heard that one before.
I swear 90% of people get old and grow bitter towards music, thinking it was only good when they were younger. It’s sad. You aren’t saying anything new. And if you were a genuine lover of music you’d be well aware that there’s great music in every decade. Imagine being quiet so foolish as to think that out of hundreds of years of documented musical creations, one single decade is where it was best, and it just so happens to be the decade you grew up in (shock). Cut the ignorance.
You got that right I loved my journey thru the 60 and 70
80s baby over here, and the 60s-70s rock hits me at my core. 90s grunge too though. Check out Rival Sons, their first 2-3 albums are head banging man. Then it all went soft. lol.
But they learnt their craft in the Sixties...
I'm never tired to hear this.... i'm 65.... I love Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant!!
4:56 I love how Robert’s looking at the guitarist like someone admiring a painting in an art gallery
Look up pipes and flamenco
The guitarist is smiling cause he's playing with Robert Plant one of the best songs.
Caleb Brown I can't believe he still sounds as good and he's pushing 70.
That guitar solo in this is amazing! And the guitarist is so talented! I'd love to hear some of his original some something he wrote! That would be awesome!
Probably sat down because he has a boner too
Certainly no slouch AT ALL
Does he even know how to play this? The emphasis is supposed to be on the melody notes, which he barely plays. He's probably trying to do it his way, but it just sounds wrong.
So me and my girlfriend are sitting around watching this video a few minutes ago. She looks at me dead straight and says, "hey that's that dude that sang with Alison Krauss, he's alright." She said it like he was some third rate opening act. I said honey, thats Robert Plant, the baddest mother fucker to ever walk this planet.
clawhammer132 doug love this comment bro.
Some people just have no clue. Thanks for setting her straight!!
It's our generation's duty to educate those younger - and we get to hear the great tunes again as we do so.
clawhammer132 doug he's alright
I would of fucking dump her ass
I will forever love this man. His voice has been a constant in the last 45 years of my life.
52 years for me and I was just a young thing when I first saw Led Zep live back in 1970.
I was just thinking I can’t imagine not having this music woven throughout my life since I was a kid in the 70’s.
I agree Amy! He is the BIGGEST ICON on this planet!
Always a class of his own. Admire Robert for staying true to himself, exploring ever new territory, and last but not least: for aging gracefully and in dignity. Astounding.
Only very few vocalist icons can still sing their biggest tunes, but only a genius like Plant understands how to totally blow us away without being able to reach those super high notes. 😎👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏🎤🎤🎤
what are you on about
So true my friend
Led Zeppelin legendary rock band! ♥️
Face lift please! Thank you. whateverhh
I cant believe how incredible he so sounds for his age. Holy shit!!
jess he sounds like he did back in the 70s
the best Frontman Ever--
Age is but a number - and state of mind. The Long Natural Curls Stay. 🌿
@@michaelloder6159 age is a word
DANZIG
To me sounds like he lost some of the punch he had on his youth but he's not a high note plain singer, so this doesn't really made any change to the quality of his music.
This is THE way artists age gracefully. So much soul.
Absolutely! He certainly knows how to use his talent appropriately.
Plant can still move.
He sounds even better.
He'll forever be the Golden God of Rock and Roll.
@@cherylthompson2731 oh how i strongly disagree with the statement that Robert plant sounds even better now than he did back in the day
@@rickyjiggens2180 his tone became more consistent tho. But he definitely lacks the raw power and range
Robert, in a league of his own. His voice as good as ever. Remains humble, passionate about his ever changing music. Loved his amazing voice for decades. Always have always will. Love ya Rob❤❤
Wow! Robert Plant will be 72 years old this August 20th. He still sounds soulfully amazing!
Saw him with Alison Krauss two weeks ago. Loved every minute of it. Brilliant. What a magical pair of musicians. So magnanimous with the audience. He asked them to turn on the house lights after 2 encores at the end of the concert. We went crazy, cheering and waving to everyone on stage and they were waving back at us, he blew us all a kiss. So glad I had the pleasure to see them live. With 3 or 4 Zeppelin songs, too. Go see for yourself.
I close my eyes and all I can hear is a young Robert Plant. Yes, his singing has changed but not the voice. More like manner, and phrasing. But that signature tone is all the same. Amazing.
really true. Is the same
His voice broke in around 74'... John Paul Jones talks about from time to time. Operations on Roberts tool, his throat.
me too
Yes however his tone has changed and I can also hear that he holds his notes much tighter to really get them out. Wonderful musician nonetheless
I have closed my eyes and heard a young Robert Plant since I was 13.
not screaming or aiming for impossible notes of his youth but using his voice intelligently to great effect here - the song is always king with Plant and other great vocalists the singers only role is to serve the song, he achieves this magnificently here with equal measures of guile and art
Agreed. Well said
He respects his instrument. Truly one of a kind.
Robert can sing circles around 90% of the rockers out there. Period. 😎
TRUE!
Yes he does
Bieber sit down, shut the fu** up and take in this epic performance and then go back to your studio and realize how pathetic you are
Chris Stapleton...just sayin'. He is a damn fine singer.
One 70 yr old lates 60s-70s rocker can sing better than 90% of the current pop artists.
That one 70 year just so happens to have the greatest voice in rock too, but yea its still very impressive
& Just look at Mick & Keith + Charlie! As well as Eric Burdon all going strong too!
don't forget Geddy Lee
I AGREE
AND HE IS SINGING BECAUSE TAKES IT ON BLOOD. ON THE MIND AND THE HEARTH. MONEY IS THE LESS
Class act. He is someone I appreciate more and more as I get older. Like good wine. Cheers to Robert Plant!
The guitar player was amazing ! Robert not sounding like he did in the 70s but for 68 years of age he’s nothing short of amazing !
Best lead singer ever
To me, he sounds much better than in the 70s: the maturity, depths, textures and nuances are astounding!
He only gets better as he ages, He looks like a Rock God!!!
Yes, cause he IS a Rock God! He can still belt it out when he wants. ✌️
I completely agree with you.
Yes except at live aid 1985 lmao
Fucking Icon...
Yeah right
I am very blessed to say I WAS THERE!! I work for ACL live and I've seen many many shows, this night, I was apart of the crowd, it was my first time seeing him! I'm such a fan! I was at the back of the room pressed against the wall, the music hitting me in waves..tears streaming down my face. Such a beautiful experience, one that will stay with me forever! Thank You ACL for giving me the best experiences of my life! Thank you Robert Plant for continuing to share your talents with us!
I've seen him a couple of times first time at a charity concert in 1986 Birmingham UK singing rockabilly was great. Then in 1995 with Jimmy page. Then 2002 with this same lineup as now apart fro different drummer. A small venue at Sheffield university great show.
@@chris55068 Seeing him live gave me life.
@@MeaganATX he's passionate about his music. It's not always about the money
i have seen mr plant live about 7 times - once in a small club in amsterdam called the milkweg - the next day we saw him on the street going into a coffeeshop - so we followed as we were there for the coffeeshop experience anyway - and i was behind him as he ordered from " the window" - just before he spoke his order i said out loud for the dealer to hear me - uh he will have some kashmir !!!!!! he turned around and said not funny dude in a jokingly manner - lol - he and his band sat at the last table , but the tables were big and he could see we had no where to sit so he graciously invited us to sit with him - we talked for an hour with him as we enjoyed our kashmir !!! and no subject was off limits - what a gentleman and down to earth guy - i very much enjoyed his storoes and his company ...
Did you get a chance to meet Robert? I went to his 1988 Now & Zen show in Seattle. They did a little of The Ocean on Tall Cool One.
The golden god and the most beautiful man that ever walked this planet 😍😍
This has always been a favorite Zeppelin tune and this version doesn’t disappoint. Rock on Robert Plant!
love this version of Robert...fine wine
I love the fact that with all these rockstars gone , Robert is still with us and he is still KILLIN' IT
He looked like a space-angel in his youth - now like a weathered wizard. Very cool to hear that he can still deliver the goods. Love Robert!
There are a lot of miles on that face. The voice too. He's still coming out with new stuff though. Guys like him have it in their blood.
Tony Lee Glenn
Weathered wizard 🧙♂️ ... or hairy baked potato 🥔?
You coined it perfectly! :)
Tony Lee Glenn
?Wild Bill Hickock? 😊 NanaAnn
Who'd have thunk that people age as they...erm....age? What would you do in his position? Stay in a dark room because mother nature waits for nobody? Rather petty if you ask me. A little funny too :-)
One of the Greatest rock singers of all times
I think this is the most beautiful version. Beautifully sung Robert.
My God.. Plant still has IT.
Teri Coley Adams: yes. he still has it; a shitty, worn out singing voice.
midnight rider Considering his hey day was 70-73, and yes, he was a badass, not that bad.
Hahaha, fucking fanboys/girls make me sick. He has it? You should go to check your hearing.
plants voiced changed permanently in 1972. You can hear it clearly in shows when compared to anything prior. He used to shriek. Zep is still my favorite band by far however
Still sounds better than your worn out asshole.
Clicked for Robert Plant. Stayed for the guitarist.
I bet you the whole band raised their level when RP walked onto the stage?!!
with ya, that solo had direction and purpose
Rip Van Winkle can play...
Yep, same here. Who is this guy?
@@SevanStick Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson. he is literally god.
Robert's voice is in PERFECT form here
That guitar solo literally made me cry. I truly had tears in my eyes. So beautiful!
It sounded like a trip through space taking Robert back to a time where all his best memories are.
Yes exactly.. and in person the sound waves just hit your LITERAL soul. Now MY eyes are tearing up remembering live music! ACL has been closed since March
Some aging rock stars should take notice of how dignified Robert Plant performs at his age. He is not trying to be who he once was. And this is why people should stop asking for a Zeppelin reunion. It is best left to memory or at least to different interpretations that don't border on self parody.
If Axl and Slash can figure shit out for the fans then Bobby boy should too.
Gregg Allman was another good one
I just bought the "Celebration Day" DVD and it's as good as LZ will ever be. Plant is honoring the old and incorporating the new in a very respectable way. And while his face shows a lot of miles, his voice still rings true. Let's just appreciate him and the music while we can.
I don’t think so, their 2007 show was definitely not a parody of themselves.
@Jack Benton Let it go. That ship has sailed. Zeppellin is no more.
After 50 years Robert Plant still go it !
I was 10 when Stairway was released. I was hooked for life. I’m 62. Be still my heart.
His voice gets better with age even though I never thought that could be possible. Such an incredible artist who can also belt out the blues like heaven. Can't mistake Robert Plant for anyone else.
I think so as well, his tone gets richer as he gets older. I never cared whether he could sang high or not, just that he sings with passion, and he delivers almost every time.
This performance really brings out the nuance and subtlety of his vocal delivery which is so often overlooked by those who only remember his powerhouse wailing.
Jack Kilman you perfectly put into words my exact thoughts and emotions, upon listening to this reinvention of one of my most favored Zep Classics.
The ages conveyed in Mr Plant's voice adds a depth, richness and layers of emotions that one developes only through the passage of times.
I can hear many lifetime's in the way he sings this piece now, that I had never heard before when compared to his delivery, back in his younger years.
Mr Plant's voice and delivery resonates so much deeper, than I had once believed possible.
✌💖
Totally agree with you ... the range and variation in power is MUCH more effective
This is EXACTLY why he will often talk about his early Led days and say things like he had a long way to go with his voice back then. Somewhere along the way, he got progressively aware from just going over the top with it and emphasizing more and more the character, subtleties, depth of emotion, and sensuality of his voice.
Children, behold a rock GOD who the likes of which you may never see again.
Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham were, and are irreplaceable..
Enjoy Robert and the rest while we still have them.
Don't remind me that the gods will leave us soon
Agreed
Let me preface my following statement by saying, in no way am I saying the following band holds a candle to LZ, but, you should check out Greta Van Fleet. There is hope for Rock.
I agree 100% bro. Led Zeppelin was sure something else.
George C you can actually see it again, a fairly new young band called " greta van fleet"
You know you're a great guitarist when the mighty Robert Plant spontaneously applauses your playing on stage!
Damn the guitar 🎸 play is awesome
@@riefujimoto4279 indeed.
Yes. ✓
What a fantastical guitarist this dude is .... Robert is so blessed to have him 🎸🎶🎶✨✨✨
Liam Tyson, lead guitarist from Cast, brilliant underrated band.
Thanks for his name & Band - will look them up now
To be fair, it would be hard for him to settle for any less on the zep tunes?
Plant's voice is as mesmerizing now, so many years since first he came onto the scene, wailing, moaning, enticing, commanding.
...orgasming
Robert Plant lost his voice during their second American tour. He's been imitating himself ever since.
That was a real danger for loud rock singers, losing themselves and pushing it too hard onstage.
When the Police toured America Sting lost his voice in Buffalo, the concert becoming a jam session.
Nia the Gulf Gypsy Well said....I totally agree
@@johnwattdotca I enjoyed his singing in this video like I always enjoy Robert Plant's singing. His voice continues to be very distinctive.
@@dougfielding8215 When I sing a Robert Plant song I might as well keep sounding like him for the rest of the night, it''s such a strain. My favorite is still "Whole Lotta Love". ow ow ow ow ow ooooooooh I'm never going to be your back door man... oh...
They have talent from the family structure that used to exist. Robert is just excellent.
@Robert Plant Plugging along, doing fine.
@Robert Plant I Just got stopped from driving a truck all day and my soon-to-be wife called. No didn't expect it, hope things doing well.
Cant help but tearing up a bit. His voice is still that iconic and wonderful, the voice that has become the soundtrack of my youth :") its a bit hard to see him aging, but more power to him, robert is the man!
Me too! Well said. He’s still got the POWER to move.
yep cried for sure
Because that means we are aging too
Me too, cant tell you why, but everytime I hear it.. i get chocked up!!
Robert plant at one of his best
That guitar player is insanely good
Tony Wilson well, he's working with the Front man from Led Zeppelin after all, isn't he?
Insanely good? Ok, Hes better than me, but then again I don't play at all. Obviously you have access to the internet, and apparently an "interest" in music. I suggest fiddling around on youtube searching for "great guitarists". Probably WONT find this guy. Try starting with another "old timer" named Steve Via and work from there. I don't think you dind this dude to be "insanely good" anymore.
Ben Willard dude, you're speaking of Steve Vai, he's got a completely different style from our man you see in this Vid...
The guy In this Video is Playing in Western, Spanish style of sort...
Ben Willard I would listen to this guy over Vai all day.
Tony Wilson By Jimmy Page standards this is very simple to play. I learned this 25 years ago when I was little more than a beginner.
He's what 68 here?!! Incredible voice. He still knocks it outta the park.
rooseveltnut probably 69
Born Aug 1948
Only one thing is better as Robert Plant: His enthusiastic fans with their fabulous comments here!!
Recently, I have made Robert Plant my go to when I am feeling a need for peace of mind and dreaming. I love going through the many years of his music, interviews, and so enjoy listening to his great lyrics and magical voice. He is such a great musician and a craftsman of his own soul. I so appreciate that has shared himself with us all for so many years.
Man that guitarrist killed it
I love Led Zeppelin. Best band ever. The original recording of this song makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, every time I hear it.
Whatever this is, it ain't that.
Man Robert Plant can really really really sing!
I Can Hear Plant Calling Me The Way Zep Used to Do...
YEP ! )))
😂
Exactly!
Nice!
@@tdhawk167 & U 2! BADASS, GRRRL! TY!
Growing up in the 70's there were so many great bands and musicians, Floyd, Stones, Sabbath, The Who, Rush, Queen, Deep Purple, Bowie, etc and then there was Led Zeppelin who were the kings!
Robert Plant.....ALWAYS amazing!!!
Mr. Plant I worshipped you as a teenager but I adore you as an old man.
And your recent work with Alison Krauss OMG fabulous.
This is a man who flat out just lives and loves music! Never stop Planty.
He sure knows how to find talent too, this guitar player is fantastic!
I actually drove Robert Plant around a couple times when he was up in Austin, nice guy, we got along well.
did he pay you or did he let you blow him?
Haha
Lucky bastard!!!!!!!!
Pics! or it didn’t happen...
(Said the guy who hung out with Anderson, Rabin and Squire in SA.....and yes I do!)
I'd be lying if I said that I was a big Zeppelin fan back in those days, but I gotta hand it to Plant, he still has the chops.
For me,the best live performance of any song by Robert since Led Zeppelin.
My favorite Led song and this did not fail to please!!! Love it!
Same! ❤
Same here! Love this rendition!
Plant has such a contemplative face, especially during that solo. Such a mystical atmosphere they created here.
Robert Plant freaking rocks. I can't believe anyone would give this a thumbs down. Different strokes for different folks, I get it... but then why even listen if you aren't a fan?
A legend with a shadow as great and as tall as his soul..Long live Robert Plant
He's the best ever! His voice hasn't changed! Keep it going on!
Robert did the right thing to go out on his own. It is the artist in him that makes that call.
Robert Plant is Robert plant, there will never be another Robert Plant. He looks so graceful like a king in his Indian shalwar, qmmeez and waskat. Jimmy Paige is the king of strings and one of the graetest guitarist of our life time. I wish I was old enough to see them live in 60s and 70s.
My BFF GUY, OF ALL TIMES!!!! LED ZEPPELIN ROCKS!!! I AM MY MUSIC, MY MUSIC IS ME, MUSIC IS MY SOUL!!! HIS VOICE MELTS THE SAVAGE BEAST.. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL.. THANK YOU LED ZEPPELIN, FOR GETTING ME THROUGH LIFE .. I AM 61, AND STILL A ROCKER.. LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN!!!
I JUST WISH, I COULD SEE YOU GUYS IN CONCERT, ONE MORE TIME!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU, FROM DALLAS TEXAS!!!🙏🤠🐂🇺🇸🗽

How BLESSED We Are To Have Rock~N~Robert Plant In Our Lives And He's Still Got It GO~N~On In EVERY WAY!!~❤️~
The chemistry of LED Zeppelin was amazing. Still is to this day. A Moment in Music time. Forever classic and original. Best of the best
I would kill to have been able to see this. 70 years old and Robert plant can still sing nearly like he used too. Keep it up Robert
Ok, these guys sound just amazing! RP is almost 70 here and his voice is still powerful....he’s still got it.
This man still has the intensity of the 70s concerts I used to see. In 75 the last of the entire band in normal physical condition. They could do a three hour concert and not break a sweat. Jimmy pages guitar playing was at it's peak, John Bonhams drum playing was only matched by a few people on the planet Carl Palmer, Corky Lang,) John Paul Jones, the master of the support instruments for the band, no one better at it at the time. And of course Robert plant. His voice had just gave of the best of the love and balland could do. For 9 years , these 4 men were the world's Rock and Roll band. No one is better at what they did. I miss the group.
Denmark Radio - 1969, Robert Plant was 20 years old when he sang this song to a small crowd of young people. Austin City - 2016 , singing this same song....WOW...timeless!
Dude still sounds like he's 20 years old. Amazing voice.
His voice didn´t change anything from the 70s....He´s for me in the top 5 best rock ´n roll singers of all time...unbelievable his voice!
Nobody sings BETTER than Mr. Plant.
My life wouldn't be complete without Robert Plant's songs.
Like fine wine
I love his voice and his demeanor. He’s an icon of the age of real music.
Amazing that Plant is singing this in the same key that he did over 40 years ago! One of my favorite Zeppelin songs, and this version is so beautiful.
i was born in november of 1979 .. and have always loved led zeppelin. always wanted to go bakc in time just to attend a concert.. (i sure i have in a past life)
brilliant music. this guitarist.. chills.. goosebumps..
just divine..
my old soul is loving this..
Did his voice change in 50 years? Absolutely not... amazing!
Of course it did. He can’t hit the high notes anymore. Just listen to the original version...Love this version though.
Of course his voice has changed, but still love llistening to him !
@Robert Plant hello, nice to meet you also
oh my god the voice is ... fucking amazing
Released in 1969, still great today. Thanks Robert!
Robert Plant needs to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame as a solo act.
Robert Plant is getting better every day. What a beautiful voice!
Mateus Tavares thats pushing it but he is still my favorite and in my opinion, best singer ever
Immaculate Robert! And that Rasputin guitar player: a virtouso.
Werner Julinho Mantilla Pizarro- Liam "Skin" Tyson
I was skeptical to hear someone try and replace Page on a song like this, brought his own classical spanish guitar vibe and blew me away - really well done!
I Absoulutely LOVE This "TALANTED MAN"!! I Swear His Voice Is To Perfection In Whatever He Sings. Robert Plant, You Are "The Golden God", The True LEGEND!! FOREVER......
I love this legend! Then and Now!!
who doesn't LOVE 💓 Robert Plant! I grew up in the 60s and 70s listening to Led Zepplin and other great artists. He still has it after all these years😘
Its amazing how the human voice really doesn't age like the human body. He sounds as young and fresh as ever to me.
Quite honestly Robert sounds far better and more in control of his voice, especially with the whisper/ scream dynamic
I was lucky enough to see Robert perform at the 2005 Isle of Man TT with my wife it was absolutely wonderful I actually met him and said hello the evening before on the prom in Douglas wonderful memories we are the same age have always been a huge fan
Not many singers can do what Robert Plant does. Grow old gracefully and vocally be able to carry on the way he has. How lucky are we to be able to listen.
@Robert Plant If that is really you Mr. Plant, it is an honor. I've seen you live with Led Zeppelin to singing with Alison Krauss.
I generally don't comment on line but this one brought back a lot of memories. thanks again.
I just loved to see how crowds old and young were enjoying it. Plant is a legend! ❤️❤️❤️
