    😅😅 I remember casting a calm spell on Dagoth Gilvoth and when I talked to him he said "I'm not here to talk. I'm here to touch you. I'm a freak."

    "Soundtrack not as good as Skyrim and Oblivions" Wow....that's certainly an opinion.

      It does get repetitive after a while, and it's dynamic systems are dated. It has also a lot fewer tracks than later games.
      However thats just technical end, the actual music is fantastic

      It's a good soundtrack, but it gets repetitive imo

      It is also a dumb comment, because Morrowind laid down the foundation for soundtracks in Oblivion and Skyrim

    I tried to play this game when I was in high school and it was so tuff. I remember I did a fighters guild quest were all I had to do was go into this person house and kill 2 rats but I struggled so hard to kill them. I was just standing on a table try to avoid they’re attacks while stabbing them with a dagger. Despite how hard it was though something about it held my interest. I liked how it felt like I had to pay attention to the npcs directions. Like I remember the first time I followed an npcs directions to a cave for a quest it felt so much better finding it because I didn’t have a quest marker to locate it. I used to look up guides on how to play the game so I could play through it. It truly is a good game from what I can tell and I need to try and play through it at some point but with better knowledge going in and a note book just for the game lol.

      Did you have any skill points in short blade? And were you fighting with low stamina? Remember to fight with a weapon that matches your skill. And low stamina means low hits.

      @@Cyberwar101 I was trying to be an archer but I found out that, that wasn't going to go super well so I tried switching to swords when I really should have tried starting over. I did watch alot of guides trying to better myself but it only got me so far. If I start again im going to do research before hand so I can set myself up properly.

    The only thing missing in Morrowind is a dodge animation and a miss animation to better telegraph what goes on.
    What i still love about this game is that if you attack a character in glass, ebony or dremora armor.. you will die imidietly as a low level character... it make sense that a prince/noble etc. Whom has been taught combat all his/her life will woop your ass.... and Being able to take them on late game. Now thats satisfying.

    As a kid ive got the game within a game magazine, (i think it was Gamestar) and i saw the disc, it looked cool, so ive installed it. I remember the exact moment when i stepped out of the boat in Seyda Neen. The music hits you. And i thought this is the best game ever. Ive probably spent hundreds of hours throughout the years, exploring and experiencing the game. And that English is my second language, growing up ive understood more and more of the game. Every Morrowind playthrough feels like a "life"-to me weirdly enough. Its really a game from, another time. Its a world, and it means it. You figure it out by yourself. Plus the mod support is pretty great for a game thats....22 years old. (dear god)
    Theres just a "magic" in games that you are not special in. You are not a hero, no dragonborn, you are a nobody. Make yourself some fame or infamy, its up to you.

    You can resize the map and then pin it on your screen so it still on even when you are not pausing.

    I remember when I bought Morrowind for my PC. I got a box and in the box there was a map about the island of Vvardenfell and I hanged it on the wall and it helped me a lot. And about the soundtrack Jeremy Soule made it just like Oblivon's and Skyrim's soundtracks but simply back then there was no room for more soundtracks, it came on a single CD-ROM. Oblivion and Skyrim came out on a DVD, so much more space for high quality music.

    I can't say I agree with you on the soundtrack, but this is a really good video. In particular, I loved your Narnia analogy. That's what it has always been like for me; playing Morrowind feels more like stepping into a magical portal than it does playing a game. I first picked it up shortly after release way back in 2002, and it's still the Elderscrolls title I come back to (albeit, heavily modded); essentially, it's "home."

    • @PeterPauls

      It is not a mod. I use it too called OpenMW it fixes the old engine's problems and it adds better water, better shadows and much higher view distance. Just write into google OpenMW and download it, the latest version 0.48 but there is a newer "beta" version which is better IMO 0.49 (it can have problems but I've never ran into anything). Give it a try.

    You know, you can pin the menu objects to be permanently on the screen, like the map, it's the first thing I do and yeah it sometimes goes to walking looking only at minimap. But yeah, just pin the map on the right corner of the screen when you want. Without the map some more places are really hard to navigate and see where you haven't searched yet.

    Combat was meh, but the music and world were so good. I liked the style of the game and in review, the near to non existing fast travel and the lack of quast markers were great decisions.

    Does Morrowind have enemy scaling issues like Oblivion? Where you can level up skills etc in the wrong order such that there are enemies you literally cannot kill because they out level you ?

    • @Cyberwar101
      @Cyberwar101 6 місяців тому +2

      No, generally enemies, especially NPCs don't level scale, except for wilderness encounters, and then only up to a certain point. Equipment is not level scaled at all.

    • @sneezyfido
      @sneezyfido 19 днів тому

      The answer lies in the middle.
      You can end up being very squishy if you don't invest in endurance early on. This is because maxhealth is increased each level based on the endurance you have at that time.
      If you care about maxing out stats (not needed to beat the game!) you will need to do some meta gaming on class design and what skills you use.
      A relatively easy version is that you pick skills associated with 1 stat, plus skills associated with endurance, and use only those until you reach desired stat level. Either the stat skills or the endurance should should be in your class, but not both. For the duration, pick luck as third option at levelup. This gets you best value on leveling.
      You could do this until you reach 100 all stats, or drop it and just play the game once you feel comfortable about being able to survive a toe to toe fight.

      I looked up a video about morrowwind as it was on sale and heard it was generally really good.
      Him commenting about how the character creator being the best is a lie.
      Skyrim and oblivion did great steps for character customization and feels shoe horned in

      It's not actually about the number. If it was a slider with a hundred options or just an open text box, nobody would care.
      It's about the invasive messaging that comes along with it.
      And even there, if it was just about respecting that other people have different lives, most people would be on board with that.
      But in the same breath the message kicks other people down. This tells that the message is not about respect at all.
      Yes, people do get annoyed by that.
