I grew up on a different type of posole verde. It’s more like posole blanco but still has green. You take tomatillos, a whole bunch of cilantro and parsley and a white onion. Dice everything up and sauté everything in a little bit of oil until the greens become vibrant green and soft. In your main pot, you take some pork and water, bring to a boil until the pork is fully cooked through. Once your pork is cooked, add all the greens to the stock, along with a bote of hominy, and bring to a boil. At this point, if you like heat, you add in a can pickled jalapeños. Once all the flavors get to know each other, it’s ready to serve with finely sliced cabbage, raddish, a sprinkle of oregano and lime slices for delicious acidity. Don’t skip out on the tortilla chips for more crunch. This is the way my family makes their posole (from guanajuato) so it could just be a regional thing.
I'm not sure of the spice for my kiddos for the verde. But I made your pozole rojo on Thursday and the kids almost ate a whole crockpot full! It was delicious! Definitely will be making again!
Glad to hear it
I never had pozole verde growing up until in my early 20s my aunt decided to bring pozole verde to our family event. Ever since then, I learned how to make pozole verde. I use chicken thighs instead of pork. Both pozole rojo and verde are very comforting foods to have
I’m making this! Beautiful!
This recipe brings me good memory 🤠.... I remember watching my grandmother doing soup for us
Thanks Matt...this is not only about food l, it is about family. Thanks 👍🙏
:)
Pozole verde with the green mole sauce is so good
My mother would use yellow sweet corn instead of hominy for the posole verde. And chicken to.
Top it off with diced onions, diced radishes, and shredded cabbage with lime and salt with a side of tostada chips 🔥
That sounds delicious
I've been making Pozole for years, but your recipe knocks me out! Good one...🇧🇩
Wow! that looks delicious😉😊😋
yes!! I would do the big bowl as well...looks so delicious.. I'm gonna try to do your recipe soon.
I grew up with this delicious soup. Btw I love your videos man.
Yes you did it! Now I want more pozole verde lol.
I'm definitely making this
love the long format vidoes!
Thank you
I’m glad Majora’s Mask made it into the new studio. I’m a life long OOT fan, but Majora is much improved. Absolute masterpiece.
Oh and the soup looks dope, of course. Thank you for bringing your heritage to the table for us.
I really love this format of the video. It’s like having a convo while cooking. Very relaxing and also informative.
I love anything verde. The only thing I would do differently is wash the tomatillos after husking them because the stickiness can hold dirt and gives a bitter flavor. I personally prefer using serranos over jalapeños and use them instead for most of my recipes so was glad to see you use a fair few of them. This is one of the most comforting food series for me ❤ can’t believe I forgot to mention. I’m a big wrestling fan and I just see a family relation with Matt to Seth Rollins 😂
I love good soup
Me too
Nice
Nothing like a man who can cook.❤️💯
;)
Looks freaking delicious 🤤
So good
I knew I was not alone
Que rico👍👍
I'm trying to pay attention to the cooking but I can't stop looking at the mans hair. Brother has a great head of hair.
I'm old school Matt. Grew up eating menudo and posole. Never heard of green posole. I have so many questions for you. For me there's to many ingredients in it. I guess I'm used to eating it how mama made it. But of course I'd taste it. To see the difference. Love watching your videos. ❤👍❤
Same here. Menudo for ne
this soup was so yum yum actually I'm going to try it definitely...... I'm obsessed with your cooking and your style😍🍺🍺 .......can you please cook us something using tamarind 🙂
I grew up with Pozole Blanco ☺️
I need to know what this is now
That's it.
Would you recommend 6qt or 8qt pressure cooker?
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️
It's big in New mexico
I’ve never cooked with hominy before. Does it need a long cook as well or could it be put in a chicken pazole style soup?
The canned stuff is already cooked so you’re good.
Day 2 Good Soup Pozole Verde 🍲🥩🇲🇽 Recipe by Acooknamedmatt 👨🏻🍳🧂🇺🇲.
Chef can you please suggest a very good and pretty much simple sauce to make starting from basic mayonnaise? thank you
Ok!
@@acooknamedMatt because honestly our school chef asked us 'students' to look for sauces that we can make starting with mayonnaise if you can please suggest something for me that would be amazing!
I love your videos chef.
nevermind my last comment this is a good video
What is interesting is that I live in Puebla, and we don't have Anaheim chilis here.
Gotta do a menudo my guy, you just have to
I grew up on red but now I eat green 😅 still perfer the red tho
Didn't have the green often while growing up, mostly the red. Try the white pozole one day when you have time it's pretty good too.
Excuse the profile pic and youtube handle. My son took over my account and is now an aspiring UA-camr lol
@@Bsauceso43
Fair enough
Woah thats one I’ve never heard of
@@acooknamedMatt pozole blanco check it out man!
I've had this before, don't know if it was proper. They served it this way with a side of red or green salsa to make the one you want
We aite pozole Verde with Chicken
You look like Al Pacino
First like first view and the first comment offcourse
no you were 2nd
@@Tatar10139 ha ha scammer 😅
Yo bro on my UA-cam channel i do food reviews while I’m really high ‼️‼️
"rice wine vinegar to taste" proceeds to not taste lol
definitely the other bowl...
I didn't grow up with it Matt.
Full length videos are so much better
I named my character in pokemon violet “Soup”.
Hahaha
that looks good but i would use chicken or beef because i am muslim
Dried Anaheim are actually California, not guajillo. Mirasol dried are guajillo.
Why dont you wash your vegetables?
u missed the throw of paper cause u didnt yell out ”kobe!”
Try biriyani of South Indian (especially muslim cooker)
I don't like the new lighting too bright
Can't roll your R's? 👀
A popular meat for the original Aztec pozole is human meat. Seriously.
Do shorts, people are lazy I saw 13 minutes and I was like ehhh, if it was a short I woulda clicked
This is not really pozole verde! If you grew up in the south of Mexico the pozole verde is made with pipian! Not tomatillos
make menudo
Where's your cameraman matt? Is he gone?
i'm still here :)
