Past me was a smart guy don’t seems. I’ve had some absolute horrors with them on the early 00’s so happy to have learned from those harrowing experiences😂 I ended up cutting an access point into one of the sills to weld a new nut in its place.
Doing this right now on my 1988 Mini, spent all day trying to ease the bolts out then just earlier one snapped and the other rounded off (both lowers, top ones are fine) , at least i know where i stand now lol, going to rip the frame out over the weekend, was into Hillman Imps years ago, should have stuck with those, far better design and easier to work on.
If you’ve got the right tools, the back side of the nut can be accessed from inside the door bin iirc, I had one of the captive nuts come loose once and had to chisel my way in there and hold onto it with something.
You know its going to mirror painting the house for the mrs. The engine bay is done and looks so pretty that the next 'room' looks tatty, so you end up doing the whole thing
It's great when the rear subframe bolts come out without half the mini still attached 😂 keep up the great work

@NickThornhill oh yes iv had to do same with my current clubman, did wonder if someone sold arch liners for the rear?
I’ve never seen any. They only made them for the front as far as I’ve seen.
