We finally have a Legend of Link game where we can play as Zelda.
I really think Nintendo missed out on a great opportunity to name it The Legend of Link: Zelda's Awakening. Especially since they lifted the art style from the revamp of Link's Awakening.

When the direct came out and everyone saw it as well, people lost their minds for _Echoes of Wisdom,_ which I thought was neat, but then _Brothership_ was lost in the scuffle and I near lost my mind. I haven't played a _Mario and Luigi_ game since _Bowser's Inside Story,_ and they're great! I love them!
I love how Zelda will be exploring and completing the dungeons in her game. Makes perfect sense for the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom to use careful planning and magic to succeed over combat ability which is the perview of the Triforce of Courage.
And the term you're looking for to describe Mario & Luigi Brothership is Cell Shaded.
She is going to be exploring dungeons link already completed which is an interesting twist

True, if Zelda had a sword and played just like Link, it'd be basically just a palette swap.
The direct was way better than it needed to be, especially because the switch is hitting its end of life
They feel like they have to win E3 for as long as the Switch is still active... They likely forgot E3 no longer exist, but the drive is there.

The Switch’a end of life won’t happen for at least another 3 years after Switch 2.
One suggestion I've heard that I really like for watching the Star Wars OG trilogy and prequel trilogy films as far as order goes is A New Hope and Empire Strikes back, then the prequels (almost as a three-movie extended flashback sequence) then Return of the Jedi - that way the whole reveal thing remains a reveal BUT you don't end on the downer that is Revenge of the Sith/you actually end at the conclusion of that storyline.

I am still amazed we have had multiple Princess Peach lead games before there is a Zelda one.
They've always been more careful with Zelda games than the Mario franchise, plus the fact Mario is a far bigger franchise than Zelda. Mario has a lot of spin-offs and games that are completely different, like Mario Kart, Mario Sports games, the 3D Mario games like Sunshine and Odyssey, even the various Mario RPG games like Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG, and Mario & Luigi. Meanwhile, Zelda games were always the same style and type of gameplay. Even the top down and 3D games are the same kinds of games, not like the difference between Super Mario World and Super Mario Sunshine. It was only rather recently that they started actually making Zelda spin-offs and other kinds of Zelda games, starting with Link's Crossbow Training then really kicking off with the Hyrule Warriors games. But even now they're few and far between, even if you count BotW and TotK.
So it really shouldn't be surprising that the series that's always been more open and free with trying new things swapped roles for characters before the series that's always been more formulaic.

Nintendo did cooked pretty good this year, especially now that you will get to play a zelda game with zelda as the hero that actually looks like a good game.

So glad to see the Ace Attorney Investigations collection from this direct, it means we're finally going to have all the ace attorney games legitimately localised and available, and almost every single AA game on switch. Hopefully it also means that we're even closer to a brand new game.
I am happy too, though I own the entire collection on ps4 and preordered it there as well. 😂 I'm a little annoyed that Switch is the only physical copy in the west, otherwise I have to import the PS4 physicals. :/

I want a Bowser turn absed strategy game.
I think having the Koopa Troop as your army and unlocking other classic Mario enemies as units, including the Koopalings and Bowser Jr., would be pretty cool.
I've wanted that for years. Like Disgaea, but starring Bowser and with SMB characters. Even have my own plot worked out for it.

Or straight up Mariocraft RTS, that could be really fun. You have Bowser Kingdom, Mushroom Kingdom and others, each with their unique playstyle and unique hero units.
Gonna go for a Koopa rush strat? Research wings and launch a Paratroopa attack behind the enemy walls? Or, on the Mushroom side, have your Mario hero unit capture that Boo Mansion for you? Research deployable power up blocks to support your heavy hitting Kong troops? Cloak technology for the sniper toads?
Mike, you colossal [FRIEND] you forgot about Phantom Brave, the game from the maker's of the Disgaea series and is one of their more unique and cool games that never got a sequel in 15-20 years.
I am super excited for it, despite everyone expecting it to be about farming on first glance

Wait, there was a DQ (III) anime? What were the party members in the anime, I go for warrior, mage, and cleric to round out the team, and have all bases covered.
@@whitewolf3051 Yes. Abel (the one who would be Erdrick) was the protagonist. He had a friend who joined him named Moco. (Class unknown.) They were eventually joined by a money loving warrior woman named Daisy and a wizard named Jolnoc. It follows the story of III for the most part given that the BBEG is Baramos.
I want the Switch 2 to have the same carts, but have two slots. So you can have 2 games ready at once, or one bigger game, or linked games (like Sonic 3 and Knuckles), or maybe something for Pokemon where you could put in Sword and Scarlet, and travel between the regions.

I’m actually really excited about Fairy Tail 2! I’m a big FT fan and enjoyed the first game a lot, and I had no idea they were working on a sequel, so that announcement was a totally unexpected and welcome surprise!
Finally, new Phantom Brave game, instead of rereleasing the same one for a fourth time.
So, some tech analysts are saying that Metroid Prime 4 is still going to be on the og switch. They said that based on analyzing the resolution and frame rates in the trailer. If that's true or not, only Nintendo and Retro Studios know.
Yeah i can see it being cross gen like how breath of the wild was on both wiiu and switch, honestly it makes sense for the first couple games to be like that to make sure the game itself sells well.
The Switch's logo is all over the announcement trailer and it literally says "will be released on Nintendo Switch" in the video description, so the tech analysts kinda wasted their time there
The entire direct was about upcoming Switch games. They have not officially announced their next console. How and why would they reveal a game meant for a console they've not yet revealed?
Of course, releasing on both platforms like BotW did is different. But then it's still on Switch.

Makes sense too, because there's nog a lot of lore to 1, just "go save princess" I bought it on sell for the switch, and its very lack luster, so hopefully putting 1 and 2 together can add more to it and make it more engaging

Yeah i think party games like this he'll likely still collab with them on since those will be fewer and far between than the oxventure stuff and he's still doing that with them. He's mostly just not doing the weekly videos and lists so videos where they're just hanging out and playing he'll likely still do.

I don't object as much as some. Partly because Mario Party only allows 4 players, so at least this time someone isn't stuck reading the chat. Secondly because we have to respect Luke's decision. He chose to go off and do his thing. I also think it's disrespectful to Ellen to go "yes yes you're doing well but bring back Luke". Maybe I'm overthinking it.
You know it's an forgetable update when they didn't even think there's need mention Switch Sports basketball update this summer.

Oh yeah. When it comes to pure fun factor Nintendo is head and shoulders above the rest. If you want a profound, cinematic, storytelling experience you might wanna go somewhere else but it's the "game" part in gaming that Nintendo does best.
Even games I expected to be a quick rental over the course of a weekend and forgot about (Luigi's Mansion 3) end up being a perfect 10/10 masterpiece that I predict I'll be telling my grandkids about!
I'm really excited for the Zelda game.
Also for the new Switch; it'd be great if it lets you play titles like BOTW/TOTK but with some improved graphics.
Especially when you're playing on a 55" or larger 4K TV, some bits look less than ideal - so if it accepts the normal cartridges and that just lets the user download a "graphics pack", that would be perfect.
I've developed the theory that if I was to introduce kids to Star Wars, I'd be butchering the order with either 4/1/2/5/3/6 or 1/4/2/5/3/6, depending on if I felt they would benefit from seeing the more epic or more kiddy trilogy opener first, all while guaranteeing that they get 3 after 5 and before 6 to maintain that reveal and bait them with the question of "does Luke fall too?". Other movies would be optional, heck I'm even tempted to have the Ewok Adventures as the first movies I show them cause fun scifi fantasy shenanigans lol (yes I know I'm weird for having a soft spot for those)
Brothership is probably the one I'm most excited for out of anything (discounting my Strange Emotions towards Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy) because I've missed Mario & Luigi so bad ever since Alphadream died. I love RPGs and the M&L games are just so much fun.

I'm sorry, you can BEAT Tetris?! Are we sure he didn't invent a rythm-action Tetris? Seems more realistic...
The kid who 'beat' Tetris, was playing the NES version. The game wasn't programmed with an ending, it just gets faster and faster. Glitches and bugs start to creep in, and eventually the game crashes altogether.
His playing technique is really weird since he essentially has to trick the console into reading the controller inputs more often than it was programmed to. He induces tremors in the muscles of his hand so that his fingers vibrate on the d-pad at high speeds.
Hello Kitty: Island Adventure is great! It is quite like Animal Crossing, but you get to be an animal instead of a boring human and you can die while platforming, which immediately makes it superior 🤩
(Not sure it’s death as such, you just get restarted back to a safe spot and there’s no consequences, but I still find it funny)

The art style of Mario & Luigi kinda reminded me of both Streets of Rage IV and of the Wonder Boy remakes. Something in both the drawing style and the color palettes.

Remember the Gameboy Color was backwards compatible with the original Gameboy so I imagine it will be like that.

OK so Dragon Warrior (Or Dragon Quest now) was my very first RPG. It has informed a great deal of my personality and preferences and you two just sold me a damn Switch.
I almost can't wait for Echoes of Wisdom (super cute and not a 2D horror show) and Stray, the game I spent over seventy percent laughing and loving how Ellen lost her mind over a digitally rendered cat. On the fence about the NES collection but I'm glad everyone seems to be getting a bit of what they want this year.
Fingers crossed Hades 2 is on a future list!!

My boyfriend and I figured out how to make Mario and Luigi on the SNES emulator on Switch co-op with button mapping and separate joycons. It was hilarious because we accidentally inverted my controls.

I don’t think many people are noticing how Zelda is summoning a clone of Link on the cover art
No one’s talking about it because it’s just not true. In fact, it’s as far from the truth as it could ever possibly be.
Summons have a triangle hovering on top of them. Link doesn’t. In fact, he’s in the background with Gannon. Also look at the sizes. He’s literally a GIANT if he was real. This is just an art, an image. It’s not literally part of the game when Link and Ganon show up on the background like that.
Lastly, by your logic, Ganon is a summon too. Can’t have it both ways.

I won’t lie I really do miss Luke, since I have been following oxxtra since after high school graduation. But Mike has a sort of energy that is a perfect match for this channel. I know he is apart of the og channel. But I do like him here too. Hope you guys enjoy the games from Nintendo you’re excited for! You know, the biggest problem with watching Star Wars in chronological order isn't the reveal that isn't surprising anymore (because to the character, it still is). The greatest difficulty is when you decide to also watch Clone Wars between episodes 2 and 3 and because you have to work (boooo!) it then takes weeks and months and then you realize that there's also Rebels and by the time you're close to the original trilogy, you're no longer in the mood for Star Wars and start watching LotR or whatever.
So, both Perfect Dark and Metroid Prime have now had announcements, after they appeared in your "Games stuck in development hell" video 🤔
Personally, I'm hoping for Silksong to be the next one to suddenly have a release date soon 😆
