Yes 😂 Hubby and I are going to Australia after Christmas and will be away for about 4 weeks. The main issue I've got is not knowing how often I'll be able to do laundry yet, plus the whole "traveling from Nordic winter to Australian summer via the tropics of South East Asia" thing.
@@laulutar advice from another traveler here...... for years I've been able to one bag travel even in different climates with two things... a "Scruba" bag, which you can google or a dry bag will suffice..... and a packable clothesline or length of paracord. I do like the packable clotheslines because they are elastic but if you don't have one paracord works perfectly too. Oh, and thirdly..... never cotton, I suggest merino wool which Lauren has posted videos of. Enjoy your travels!
Quick qiip here! I've never seen so much of Maggie ❤ in the background. For years I have volunteered in foster and rescue and when I am packing usually the fosters know they're going to be going somewhere else for a while.... so they insist on being around my open bag! One little imp even took things out of my suitcase! Do we really need a video on how to keep your pets out of luggage when packing?!?😂
I'm currently packing for a ME tour! 3 countries, starting in Jordan, then to Egypt, ending in Saudi, and it's going to be so hot 🥵 it will be my first time doing carry-on + personal item only, hopefully I make it!
Just have to let you know due to your guidance and expertise I have now successfully traveled to Europe for the second time with just a carry on and personal item. Love it!
And trust me, the more travellers you meet you will find out what a massive community it is all over the world and you will start to laugh at the people who check luggage... especially at Christmas time when flights get delayed due to weather and their luggage is piled up in an airport somewhere!! The freedom of traveling with one bag, welcome 🌎 🌏 🌍
I would love a video about group trips- your best and worst experiences, groups you recommend, times it’s a good idea over solo, etc. I so value your expertise in all things travel!
Look at you and your fashion show. Loved it!!! You are so creative. I would love to see you pack camera gear. Maybe an unpacking video would be wonderful. Keep up the good work and have fun!!!
Thank you for such great videos (of all kinds)!!! They are such a help. I just wish I had found your insights much earlier. This past summer I had to pack for three completely different climates and types of trips: rural Alaska, Vancouver Island, and Sacramento, all over the course of a month. I tried doing minimal packing basing the number of outfits I needed for each area and whether there was laundry services available. I ended up taking a full size check in luggage with far to many clothes! lol I did pack well for the rural Alaska trip getting the appropriate number and types of clothing needed for 40F weather, but I packed to many clothes for super hot weather (100+F) and no light weight jacket for the weather in between. I wish that I could've figured out how to pack fewer clothes for the hot weather and have had a bit more balance for the 60F weather I encountered.
REMARKABLE! Your packing skills inspire me!!!! Can't wait to see this trip's adventures!!! What fun to go with a bunch of women! You are such a lovely and entertaining woman!
I'm excited to see your vlog, and especially the long haul flight video. We're starting to plan a trip to Vietnam and the flights are definitely a concern for us. Thanks!
Take little cozy slippers like the packable ballet flat type that Lauren showed in this video! On flights over 12 hours I have even changed into pajamas after takeoff.... there is no reason that only first class gets to lounge! Have a wonderful time!!
Thank you Lauren! I love your videos! I am always inspired by you! I am traveling to Washington state for 6 days and you just give some thoughts about what to bring and such!
Love all your videos but how did you manage with the carryon weight restrictions on australian airlines or did you check a bag. I hope you have a fantastic trip.
Funny thing.... maybe it's because I grew up taking long haul flights because between school and family I was always in the sky... maybe it's because my career demanded flying between continents constantl... Whatever it was I actually don't mind long laul travel! 🤷♀️ I've always known how to reset my clock and never suffer from jet lag. I usually don't eat airline food but I know what sustenance to bring (trailmix, yeah!). I always wear comfortable clothing even pajamas at times on the flight, never forget packable slippers even if they're the flat ones from a hotel or the type in Lauren's video. They pack to nothing and make you feel like you're in first class! Whatever it is, I would rather take a long haul flight then go through all of the hideous airport issues just to get on a flight of an hour. In Europe and SE Asia the train systems are so wonderful I rarely had to fly on business! Enjoy your trip Lauren and I'll be watching out for you on Instagram! Ciao 👋
PNG was always a bucket list dive trip for us, it would have been completely live aboard though. When we did live aboards I wore my bathing suit and a cover up all day, changed into shorts and a top for supper and that was all the clothes I needed. We found every live aboard we did had somewhere to hang our wet bathing suits to dry and, of course, a rinse tank for our dive gear. I have a little Sony Cybershot and a dive case for it and it took great underwater pictures. I didn't do video, hubby has a huge underwater video camera for that. Make sure that volcano trip comes at least 24 hours after your last dive. You should have some great diving.
Absolutely amazing! I’m always impressed with your compartmentalization for outfit needs and the interchangeability. Your advice was useful for my trip to Sydney earlier this year (even though I bought an additional set of July luggage while I was there to bring back souvenirs and clothes I bought). I’m sure you will have a blast!
They're all over online but if you are new to travel you should check out an REI store if they're nearby. REI is recreational outfitters .. I go to them if I'm climbing a mountain or traveling!!
Hey Lauren, hope all is well! I was wondering how much more space one would have between the non-expandable Quince 20 inch vs the Beis small carry on, since there's about a 3 inch difference between internal dimensions? I can't figure out which bag to buy because of this. Thanks so much!
I'M SO JEALOUS!!! I love diving and that is the one country of two countries we didn't go to this year. We went to South America, Machu Pichu Rio and Lima; we live in North America, California US; went to Europe for a month; and by the end of this year we will be going to Egypt, which checks off Africa. Really want to go diving in Australia. We went during December and it was colder than heck.
I loved your video and I just have to say your eyes look gorgeous! Have fun in PNG. I’ve heard of Gorlovka as I arch Ryan, a missionary bush pilot who flies to all the remote villages. It’s so beautiful there…enjoy your vacation!
Perfect timing! I’m headed to Asia next month for 3 wks, 4 locations via train and plane and was trying to figure out what luggage to use. Any other backpacks you would recommend - slightly bigger, able to open fully, some compartments for organization? I have the nomad bento but I worry it’ll be heavy lugging around to all the locations. And yay on the July essential. I actually bought one during the July sale in blue!
It was hard to pay attention to you when Maggie is in the background... could you redo the video? LOL!!! I am joking but She is so cute!!!! Thank you for the video! I am going to Norway, and it is a challenge to pack minimalist for wintertime! You gave me good ideas!! Thanks!!
First a comment, love Maggie she is too cute. Second how do you handle dirty clothes mid trip when moving destinations? When you need to pack to move locations and some of your clothes are clean and some are dirty. I have all my stuff in one cube and don't want to put the dirty stuff back in with the clean. This is where I'm getting stuck.
@@ItsTheKellys I usually bring small scented trash bags but it takes up a lot more room then when my stuff is in my compression cubes. I'm thinking I need a different colored compression cube for dirty clothes so they don't take up too much room. I can't wait to hear about your trip I love to live vicariously through you!

We are leaving in 3 weeks …. 1 week with friends in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania, 1 week on safari, 5 days in Zanzibar on the beach… 3 days in Frankfurt and 1 week in Turkey, Istanbul, Capadocia and on the beach in Kusadasi. We are gone for a month. HELP!!!! It feels like 3 different trips!
My horrible experience with Qatar Airways cured me of my long haul love. The plane was tight and uncomfortable!! Maldives I’ll never go again. If it’s past Dubai I’m not going. Qatar never load my suitcase.

You totally missed the spaces where the handle are. Flip flops, underwear, etc., etc
My flip flops are too big to fit there. But I have my flat iron and a belt in there. And a bucket hat.
I have become fond of tour videos and look forward to seeing where you are headed. But I think that you needed one more pair of shoes.
Ive only worn the one pair and I am 75% done with my trip!
