2:47 is how I feel every time I listen to this song
As I told you before, I see you every where, even in Rick beatos videos
@@aestheticwolf7769 me too lmao
lmao touché bro
I want this at my funeral. Because all shows should have the proper send off. The show that is life included. If anything were to happen.
I tell people the same thing about my funeral haha
So strange, I thought the same thing when I first listened this song years ago…
Sorry to say but…something will happen to you…and you will die. It will happen to all of us…lol.
That bass has an ability to give chills.
Mikael, Peter, Lopez, Mendez & Wiberg - the best ever Opeth lineup.... Miss them so much ❤
Yes!!!
Joakim is way better singer and keyboard player than Wiberg
Ultra the Best
It took me only about 5 seconds of hearing Mikaels lead playing 1:15 into the song to hear that something in the song sounded a bit off and not sounding the way I had expected. That is when I saw it, no PRS guitar. It really makes a huge difference in sound. PRS has it's own sound even though a Gibson Les paul or whatever he is playing here surely sounds great.
Even though I am sure Mikael plays a lot of different nice guitars I have come to associate Opeth's pre watershed years with the PRS guitar sound. I prefer it a lot more than other guitar sounds.
PRS and Fender Strat are my absolute favourite guitar sounds. Fender Strat because of bands like Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden and PRS because of Opeth, Santana and Mark Holcomb from Periphery just to name a few favourites.
But Mikael and Opeth are a huge part of why I love playing guitar and started in the first place, I even got my 60 year old sweet mother to listen and appreciate the Damnation album which is one of her favourite albums.
I am very sad that I never got the chance to buy the Mikael Åkerfeldt signature PRS guitar, I think about it often that I would have loved to be able to buy that guitar, even though it was not very expensive for being a PRS guitar. When it was being made I did not have the money and now it is not being made anymore 😭😥😩
Αmazing performance and Akerfeldt's tone is fucking luscious
Lopez is hands down the best and most unique drummer the band ever had.
He added so much to the sound and character.
Can't imagine Damnation with a different drummer.
Peter... Lopez... i miss them...
what a masterpiece
what wouldn't I give to watch this Opeth lineup again!
I'll never ever forget they had to cut this song in NYC due to time constraints...I was PISSED. But I got to see Benighted and To Bid You Farewell back to back so that eased the pain (a little).
What show was that?
+Vijay Maverick NYC July 17, 2003
"ease the pain" reminded me of "in my time of need" since its included in the lyrics lol
I saw them 6 times between '02 and '08 and they never played Benighted, even during the all acoustic Damnation tour. Seeing them play with Steven Wilson on keyboards was pretty mindblowing though...
I remember my childhood memories, always when I'm listening to this masterpiece. I love you Opeth
Opeth does Camel.
What a great piece of music.
GaudyGabriev the sad thing is no one here knows what you’re talking about...
@@luthierjustin1 i know about both opeth and camel , but didn't get the reference, cam you please elaborate?
please name the camel track
Tushar Rain yeah same
@@spirytus9063 it’s easy to tell it’s highly inspired by camel. The tone and especially the melody is totally Andy lattimer inspired. It’s lovely. Incredibly Subdued. It’s why I’m guessing too that akerfeldt is playing the Gibson instead of his prs. An ode to the great Andy lattimer.
That snare sound is fucking nice
So beautiful
the best track ever!!
everytime I listen to this it sights my soul
Thank you for the music. To put one word to describe Opeth is awesome.
What a song.... i just looooove opeth 💝 WHAT A SOUND!
I love this track so freaking MUCH...wooohooo...!!!
This song must be my funeral march

goosebumps
What got me hooked onto Opeth last time, was how listening to Master's Apprentices/Deliverance, and then listening to this right after. Holy macaroni!
Opeth, YOU'RE AWESOME !!!
Michael makes their concerts seem very intimate. Saw them at the Moore theater in Seattle. A very humble group indeed. They even took requests during the encore...provided that the song was in the right key. LOL. Almost human-like.
I went to their concert here in Mexico in March...and damn it was intimate, one of the best concerts in my life. I remember how all the theater was singing along "In my time of need"...goosebumps, so beautiful.
Must have been why they didn't take my request for Moonlapse Vertigo. Mikael said no. 😂
Amazing
I Love That!
Tremendo Grupo
Can't describe how this song makes me feel
02:47 Jerry Cantrell doing a great job.
I never imagined Mikael with a Les Paul, but it sounds awesome.
Dat fill at 3:05. Oh my god, that feel! I love you Lopez!
so lovely sound. it sounds like so camel. love this song~
Melody
Goodbye 2020, i learn great lessons from you
This will definitely be my funeral song.
Did u change ur idea or no???
@@e-girl7724No.
Saw the Damnation tour in 2003- it was incredible. This is song is special. Yes, "End Credits" and "Harvest" must played at my funeral. And yes, this lineup with Lopez and Lindgren was the shit
he should play Les Pauls more often. Sounds amazing
LeonardMcrendall he did it for the sustain
+Boolbolim Productions yeah. I think for the hardest stuff prs guitars are more comfortable (and he's endorsed, so there you go), but the sound of a les paul is just to die for
PRS sounds way better
@@Metallicazor indeed
@@TheSecondNature they are not for playing hardest stuff they stand on their own for his great sound, check them out
This was probably my first Opeth cover that I did
I would have given up anything in life to be at this gig
I put this right up there with the best guitar instrumental's ever. If you like this search for Jeff Beck's "Cause We've Ended as Lover's"
Супер ВЕЩЬ ! Супер Opeth ! ! !
Mendez was hot bro!
I’ve never seen 80’s and i’ve never been to Moscow before but this song makes me feel like i am in the streets of Moscow in 80’s
I'am feeling like I'm in early 2000's Ankara streets... Raining, cold...
I feel like, chilling in early 2002 at 9 pm outside plaza senayan, South Jakarta. Indonesia.
That guitar sound tho
♥︎
fazla mükemmel
So Silent Hill
I think its that keyboard tone.
Hahahaha
No se si tendrán otros instrumentales pero este es EL INSTRUMENTAL.
Sounds better than studio version....😍
harika
Mr. Latimer would be proud of this!
Nice There :)
I wouldn't mind looking like this bassist.

I'm not an operh fan but damn hesngood at lead guitar
is that Lindberg? doesnt look like Fredrick
Lindgren, yes :p He played when Martin Lopez was still behind the drumkit.
I do want to see a concery with Lindberg. He made some of those rifts amazing on the earlier album. Very emotional scales to say the least.
Why 480p? Why!?
There's some Camel in that Opeth
Intro never let go-camel = intro benighted Opeth
Mikael's a big Camel fan. He's admitted that they inspired a few songs like this and Benighted
This song has sex with my ears every time I hear it !!!
Camel is that you?
what is the funeral song?
ecnebilerde öleni mezara indirirken kendi seçtiği bir şarkıyı çaldırma kültürü var sanırım, keşke bizde de olsa
Ilgaz hanım???
