- LUKE NEEDS TO DO THIS IN THE MOVIES!!!
Did you know about any of these powers? What about the one where he controls a black hole? Or how he returned from the dead?!
I hope we'll get this in Star Wars Episode 9 Rise of Skywalker. That'd be awesome to have Luke return.

Thanks for checking out today's video!

Force lightning or force speed that would be so cool to have in real life
I prefer his legends powers because they had more time expanding about the force and his mastery instead in last jedi they just killed him off when instead he could like kill snoke

Legends Luke, when he had that red lightsaber dagger (a Shoto I believe it was called), he was such a badass! Love your channel bro, and may the Force be with you.. Always...
It would between stopping time and moving a black hole.
Can you do the force ability art of the small? It's a pretty underrated ability change the properties in molecules, which was once used to give healing properties to tears or something toxic. Art of the Small was also used to camouflage the presence of the Force within its user, allowing them to hide their presence from their foes.
Luke’s strongest power was his ability to kiss his sister and not be made fun of for it the rest of his life.
They were in the Ship called:Alabama
It's not incest if it's in space lol
Calibrated Han knows Luke could use a Jedi mind trick an make him gay and not like Leia

*Luke dying from "force exhaustion" is insulting to Star Wars fans. We know better.*
Damn right hope Mandalorian retcons sequel trilogy
@@Lopez03Eduardo. ong
Yep Luke's death was terrible.
So was Obi-Wan's. I assure you if the Prequels came out first and people actually loved them and Obi-Wan, they would be outraged to see him do so little and die by basically giving up. Or that's how the fans will interpret it as just as they interpret Luke's death in the worst possible way.
Obi-Wan was a stagnant character in 4 who died half way through, Luke was a dynamic character who died at the end of 8, 2 movies into the trilogy. Way better treatment and considering the formula Disney was using, he lasted surprisingly long, only giving the new characters one movie to stand on their own.
@@kungolaf4499 Firstly, your using whataboutism to try and prove your point. Secondly, Obi-Wan wanted to die to prove a point to Luke and make him despise Vader enough to go and kill him later. Obi-wan died with a purpose in mind and showed up as a voice in the deathstar run and later as a force ghost in ESB. While Luke died over force skype while spitting that bs for how the jedi must end while the sith are killing/taking over everything.
Luke didn't always win, that's what made it so special, He needed Han, Chewie and Leia etc. Even with his new powers he still relies on them a lot in the books but he is pretty indestructible. The difference is we saw him "grow" to that point through the stories and books. We saw his trials and tribulations, his sacrifices, his failings. He was a Hero that needs a retcon of the sequel trilogy *sigh*.
No, he needs to stay dead and weak and we need to move on to actual interesting characters. There’s thousands of years of stuff in the SW universe and most of it is more interesting than ‘I was born OP because people are shit at writing’ characters.
@@buttsmcgee50 this is the stupidest UA-cam comment I've ever seen and that's saying something
Well in the comic Luke learn all Jedi text even he learn stuff in the prequel even there’s a book that explained luke point of view on all the Jedi in the prequel so basically he aleready learn all of them , so in TLJ luke was a broken man it’s like he didn’t know what to do . Cmon man it’s weird to see luke was a broken man he should be fighting with the resistance in the first place
Luke in the original: I feel the good in him (vader who aleready kill thousands people)

Do you know of any titles of the books about Luke and his powers he mentioned. It’d be a great help to me
@@buttsmcgee50 you mean like Rey?
His powers may be OP but he trained hard to get them. Unlike a certain character.

They should make an animated series about legends Luke
I’d enjoy that
yeah like a "what-if thing" like force unleashed
I'll take it. I'll take anything from the OT at this point.
Why animated. Get a live action series going on. If Disney marvel can do it with Loki Wandavision and winter solider. Why not starwars extended. we already have the mandalorian with plans for others to hopefully come. Why not get the legends of Skywalker as a live action series. In the style of the mandalorian damn that would be so badass!
@mark stockdale I say animated because the mark Hamill could voice him
His most insane power is to have enough balls to say outloud that his character was ruinied in the new movies :)
Ridisword The new movies possess too much dark side of the force
Nirawit Karnjanasomwong That's not exactly a bad thing tho
ZM_Phantom I mean it can turn fanbase into a big group of Siths full of anger
Nirawit Karnjanasomwong the only problem with the new movies is disney and their special ability to fuck up everything they do, the fights are unrealistic asf considering a lightsaber can cut through steel with ease and somehow no one is getting dismembered, disfigured or crippled throughout all movies, who tf wants to tell me a pseudo clone trooper who never even touched a light”SWORD” before, can keep up with someone like kylo ren in a fight for even 1 sec, he got his back slashed open and somehow he was just fine after that, same goes with ray, her little “training” sequence they showed is based on swinging it around, nobody showed her how to do anything?
And can we just shortly talk about how supreme leader snoke the badass main antagonist who looks like he’d be a few hundred years old died because he got shish kebobed by his traitorous apprentice, so fucking retarded. Also the main characters are a woman, a black guy and a hispanic guy, why? Literally only for representation, which is fine yk but I’m not going to accept some j.k rowling type of bs where they introduce e.g revan and make him have a secret gay relationship with malak or something.

@@noahtylerpritchett2682 if into sequel trilogy you go, only pain you will find
He could probably teleport over and physically touch them if he wanted
What made me love Luke's character so much in the Legends books and comics was that, even though he started his training a decade and a half late, he was so hungry for knowledge, but never for power. In his pursuit of the Truth, he unwittingly became a tool of the Force, a literal force for good in the galaxy. He struggled at times with guilt, with uncertainty, and even for a short time, with the Dark Side, but he always put others first. He never quit, never stopped trying to do the right thing, and never stopped learning. As corny as that all sounds, he was the epitome of a hero. Disney Luke is a sad, sad shadow of what he could, and should have been, and the result of people who don't believe in ideals (or even Star Wars in general, for that matter), but rather equity.
“Rey is the most powerful Jedi”
EU Luke: “Hold my blue milk”
@@harrythedirty4256 thats the "mary sue" effect
JUST A FAN so basically her writing is shitty, I don’t hate on the sequel trig but the most frustrating aspect of it is Rey’s ability to become the most powerful Jedi with a snap of the fingers. That really pisses me off, the CHOSEN ONE Anakin Skywalker trained for a decade to achieve his power and Rey is a spit in the face to all the true Jedi that trained and mediated for years.
Its kind of like EU luke training for 30 years to become a kung fu master but rey becomes a kung fu master in 30 seconds
@@harrythedirty4256 you do realize her massive leap in power was explained in the book right? She basically leached all of kylo rens training from his mind when he tried to link with hers during an interrogation and messed up. Shes nowhere near as strong as luke. Shes not a prodigy either. Everyone else worked and studied for power. She got the cliff note version and skipped ahead. Thats why she has a few small abilities but knows nothing about the force until she meets luke and got the jedi text
@@harrythedirty4256 yep that is just lazy the whole point of learning is that it takes years if not decades of making mistakes and learning from them which rey doesn't even do, all rey is is a force sensitive person with a lightsaber, with no training at all, even anakin spent 10 years at the jedi temple, and even then he wasn't as good as he could be
EU Luke was like Golden Age Superman. They were just making stuff up left and right, and it was GLORIOUS.
That’s actually a pretty good comparison. They both even have the whole “true aspirational hero” thing going on personality wise. And just like GA Superman, Grandmaster Luke Skywalker did help beat a crazy godlike being and also wasn’t afraid to use violence against villains (Edit: By violence I mean lethal violence)
The beauty about having a character so in tune with the force is that doing anything is pretty much possible, provides the force is able to do it, so can Luke
Excelsior Golden Age Superman also had his moments
@@twilightzoneseinfeld Its silver age that had the ridiculous feats u would compare to EU Luke. Sups sneezed a galaxy away, held a black hole in his hands & moved planets like they were peebles

I'm going to say yes, this is the Luke Skywalker we all would have loved to see in the movies despite knowing he would always win. The reason is simple, it's just like the Avengers movies or even Superman, we know they are eventually going to win and save the day, the story is in the "how" and what they must sacrifice in order to do so.
Legends Luke: leveling armies with his force push and lightsaber skills, moving black holes, walking on lava while fighting a giant creature, and using electric judgement
Canon Luke: gets tired and dies from making a force projection

Lol
Legends: Don’t do it Disney, I have the higher ground.
There is so much bullshit in legends too though. If they made it all canon it would ruin whatever restraint was used in the originals. Hell, isn't there a part where Luke fucks a force ghost that possessed the body of a young Jedi/Padawan? Why the fuck would you want that included? Why would you want people so powerful they can manipulate space, time, and black holes? Where the FUCK would that even fit in. Normal people would be literally worthless. Legends needs to stay as an alternative universe it is the only way it fits in the original narrative Lucas went with in the movies. If Palps can do half the shit he pulled off in the legends than none of the originals needed to play out. Dude could have took on all of the Rebels (film version) by him self. What the fuck is any non-force-sensitive character going to do?

Well it’s a shrine not a Temple but whatever
"Master Yoda, what kind of basement is that!? Jerry just came out with yellow eyes electrocuting people"
Yeah, this is my biggest problem with Disney’s Canon as a whole.
Grandmaster Luke Skywalker is the Strongest Jedi/Force User that ever lived in the EU, who could basically freeze Life itself to a Standstill & play with Black Holes. But in Disney’s Current Canon, He allows the Jedi Temple to fall to a Single Soy-Boy, who isn’t even a Jedi Knight at that, and instead chooses to run away & let the Galaxy suffer once again at the hands of the First Order.
Exactly. The son of the Chosen One at full potential reached should basically be a god. Anakin was supposed to be 200% of the Emperor.
Lol just imagine if anakin reached his full potential

Legends Luke is the Man. Until the recent Mandalorian episode, it was the only place Luke actual grew into his destiny, to see a new age of Jedi come into existence.
I like to think that Luke wasn't just outlandishly overpowered but that he was the first Jedi in millennia to have the freedom to explore the outer limits of the force. I personally really love the force light power. Imagine being so powerfull and in tune with the light side that the dark side in others just doesn't exist anymore.
Luke being this strong make me imagine what anakin would have been

Not as strong. luke has been confirmed as the most skilled and powerful jedi to ever exist!...

Anakin is still stronger

@Zack Morris How in earth did you assume that?
@Zack Morris Nope. When you shave your head it kinda makes you look younger. and I think he already looks young for his age. Plus he has no facial hair. So I get the confusion. And I think he has a wife too.
Man, I really wish Disney hadn't made everything they didn't want canon non-canon. I wish Luke would've stayed overpowered, I have faith that his various battles still would've been fun to see, even knowing who would win wouldn't take much away from anything. It's really cool to blend exciting fights with engaging story, especially when done properly.
EU is the true canon.
Star Wars and Disney Star Wars aren't the same, and Disney with their lack of love for the franchise and political motivations has no say in the matter.
I want ultra mega Luke! I think it was almost expected in the new trilogy because George had already said as much that Luke was the most powerful Jedi ever, so his abilities would have to be reflective of that in my opinion. For instance, in Last Jedi, instead of being a projection, he would physically be there and would have deflected back every shot from those ATAT’s. Then he would have just completely outclassed Kylo, no questions.
"Luke was fighting a giant fire worm and ofcourse he won cause he's luke"
That cracked me up a little
Legends Luke could manipulate artificial BLACK HOLES and yet in Canon he got tired and died from using the doppelganger/force projection ability.
Also 3:23 so force quicksilver.
No Quicksilver can't slow down Time, Hunter Zoloman can
I was so disappointed in how they Portrayed Luke in the recent movies, that it actually affected my life.
Clearly Force-whatsapp-face-time is very energy consuming.
When you can move black holes then it’s time to reboot. He might as well be Superman without kryptonite as a weakness. This is why EU stuff doesn’t work in movies. You need the human element that a hero can die at anytime. Or else where’s the drama.
@@igqt I never said I wanted it but just for Luke to actually be decent in TLJ.
I love legends luke. He was op as hell, hut he trained and struggled for years to learn that power. He was also an incredibly flawed character in many ways. People who said Luke was a flawed character for the first time in TLJ didn’t pay attention to the original trilogy, and never read a Legends book. He failed as a teacher and leader many times. His compassion and love for those around him is what led him to learn from all these mistakes. He learned that attachments are actually a vital part of life and the light side if the force. To run and hide from attachments was foolhardy, and it led to the Jedi becoming disillusioned. Man he was a fascinating character.
How about episode 7 being like the start of the vong wars
Episode 8, Caedus journey to the darkside and mara's death
Episode 9, Caedus's defeat
Way to long of a story for it to be in just 3 movies. You would have to dedicate 7, 8, and 9 to the vong war and then 10, 11, and 12 to the darth caedus story. And thats with tons and tons of content cut out.
And Caedus is the original Kylo Ren
1 : His power converters from the Tosche Station!!!

I loved the time where he wiped out a whole space bug swarm the size of a moon with like, billions of bugs that are the size of a small ship was trying to tear their way into Luke's ship with Luke, Mara, Ben (his son) inside. Luke fueled his power of the force by using both light and dark side of the force. Not the first time he did that, but still a huge moment none the less. He made a invincible shield that protected the ship and also fought the bugs off. All while they went inside the hive, looking for the Solo twins, I think.
I think some of the legends powers went too far, but I always was in the camp of Luke becoming the most powerful force wielder in the galaxy. I feel after he beat Vader and was able to withstand Palpy’s force lightning, he left that fight with the feeling that he had only begun to understand the force. My feeling is that by the time he was in his mid 40’s, he was far beyond anything we had yet seen. He would have handled mace windu no problem and because Anakin had basically stunted his development due to his bratty selfishness and losing a lot of his organic body, and obviously turning to the dark side and spending 20 years being #2 to the emperor, Luke definitely would have a way better physical peak than Ani. My favorite Jedi is Obi Wan. I think he locked his place in the Jedi hall of fame after the clone wars and his defeat of Vader and of Maul. He definitely let himself go a little though on Tatooine. I think Old Luke would have the wisdom of Yoda and Obi combined, with the added benefit of not being so dogmatic and having a more universal understanding of the force. Basically becoming the Buddha. Just my opinion, but I think we have yet to see the greatness of Luke in Canon and I think it’s coming.
“Someone so powerful it takes away the fun”

TheFriendless1 The Guy that does Stuffy Stuff you’re so fucking dumb
@@jki808 he's right tho, it's all because hollywood decided that movies need more strong female characters, without really understanding how to make a strong female character that is relatable and admirable. They stopped focusing on creating a wonderful story and a solid character and chose to focus simply on the fact that she's a woman.
I hate how female characters are added in and then written badly, or have a feminist play them when it doesn’t suit them. Female characters can work when they’re written well, not just when they’re added in for ‘muh equality’. It’s the same story with doctor who.
@@DrewPeabaws Ripley from Alien is probably the GREATEST written Female Character in Cinema imo. Like, she's a hero but she's not some ultra, super smart, hero that has no hardships or difficulties. She shows fear, determination, and EXTRAIRDINARY bravery. Very human rather than most female characters these days that are 'strong' simply because they're women. Captain Marvel is a LOT worse than Rey in my opinion. Carol goes from barely being able to shoot a photon blast to being able to learn how to fly LITERALLY on the fly, then becomes so strong she's practically Superman. (Who is literally a Gary Stu, but even Superman has weaknesses. Kryptonite, Red-Sun Radiation, Magic, and so on.) So... yeah.
What I learned today: legends Luke was a Jedi Swiss Army knife
Because he was rigid or bound by the nedi.
If the Swiss army knife could nuke armies out of existence, manipulate black holes etc., then yes

when it comes to No. 7 and Luke's ability to basically disable electronics, after striking himself with lightning, wouldn't that technically fry his cybernetic hand as well?

"Legends" is canon. And Disney "canon" is hopefully on its way to being demoted to "myth."
Exactly what I say sir
Yes and no, there was a lot of crap in legends and I mean a lot so a reset is kinda of a good thing. Now the way I see it is everything in legends is still canon unless it goes against the new canon as alot of the new star wars content seems to be pulling heavily from legends atleast and the good parts so win win. Yes while the new trilogy wasn't good (I did enjoy them in the theater though I doubt I'll ever rewatch them like I have with the og trilogy or even the prequels heck remember when people hated those and thought they ruined star wars) it wasn't unwatchable by any stretch, I think its main problem was a lack of planning without even a base outline but the whole new fresh start was a good idea. yeah It would have been cool to see the eu in movie form but I've read the books already and face it no movie based a book has ever been as good as the book anyway I'll take new stories anyday and just reread the books even if that means the books are no longer valid
@@duogemstone @Duo Gemstone I agree that not everything in Legends was a home-run (it's hard for everything to be as good as Empire Strikes Back or KOTOR) but the overarching story was infinitely better and delved deeper into its own mythos. And yes books are better than movies but they could have easily operated within this established world and have had any number of great fresh stories to produce. From Revan and Kreia all the way to Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn and beyond, there were some amazing stories that Disney tossed to the wind thinking that they could do better (which they clearly did not do). TFA was okay but rehashed. TLJ was unwatchable and borderline insulting to long time fans. TROS was a rushed mess. The only things that have been decent are Rogue One and the Mandolorian. So yeah, Disney needs to rethink a great deal of its writing and find direction, and I would recommend starting with the EU to find that direction.
@@evgeniptolemy5570 there's still a lot of stuff from legends that can still be brought into canon or even considered coming as it doesn't conflict with "canon" Kotor being a prime example, heck even mara jade is being brought in so stuff that happened after jedi isn't necessary being tossed out yet, there still plenty to work off of or draw from at the very least it just won't be the same storys beat for beat. Like I said I never got the feeling that they where tossing the baby out with the bathwater when they made the eu into legends, More letting pickand choose so they don't have to be limited by it ya know. And yeah they have been heavily dipping into the the eu (outside of the sequel trilogy) for the most part.
I agree with tfa and tros. But honestly didn't find tlj as bad as most people heck my biggest complaint wasn't Luke (yeah it wasn't done the best but I saw it as what I think they were going for which was them turning him into sequel yoda aka crazy hermit living in the middle of nowhere doing nothing when he has the power to actually fight and help, not wanting to train a new jedi and so forth. Like I said wasn't done the best but I could see what they we're aiming for anyway) or Leia (it was supid but understandable she is a skywalker so her using the force to pull herself to safety while unconscious isnt a huge leap of faith) or the bombing (I'm assuming a ship that size would generate a small gravity field around it so the bombs would fall toward it) or even the hyperspace suicide run (rule of cool for me it looked awesome to me) no my biggest problem with the last jedi was there had to be a joke in every single scene I get it star wars has always had some humour in it but it got old real quick in every scene it ruined the pacing the drama everything you don't need a joke every beat of the story.
They could make it an "alternative timeline". Luke could find a way to stop palpatine so that the sequels are just a different version of the future or something. Would be an elegant way to keep them as canon (Disney can still sell all the merch etc.) but make them irrelevent at the same time. Then they could make proper Star Wars movies again where Luke is not a joke, and the rebellion actually did something for the galaxy.
Luke is the Chosen One. He's grown over numerous trials and tribulations, challenged himself both physically and mentally, and is destined to be the bringer of balance to the Force. In my opinion, he definitely should be super strong. He beat Darth Vader when he was just barely a jedi. He goes on for years after that, further training and mastering himself and the Force. He is and should be the most powerful Force user in the universe. Other jedi should look like amateurs compared to him post-Episode VI. That was his destiny since the very beginning of the first movie.
Luke and anakin were both the chosen one from a certain point of view
So much potential that we didn’t get to see Mark Hamill play.😞
Gohan
Correct
Best part of Luke's EU powers is that when he was young he utilized more brute force abilities. By the time of the swarm war his connection to the force deepened to the point of using more subtle but no less powerful abilities... like Fold Space. Can't loose your lightsaber if you can teleport it back into your hand.
I just found your channel after I came back to the Star Wars universe like so many with the Mandalorian. Your content is awesome. Keep it up!

Intense Thinker amen🙏🏼
I would love to know about the Sith Temple below the Jedi temple, sounds really cool.
Yeah!!! I've only ever heard it mentioned in passing about other topics
All I really know is that the Jedi temple was built over the sith temple because of the leach of the dark side energy all over Corousant
That wasn't in Legends though, only in canon. In Legends, there was a tremendously powerful Neutral Force Nexus far below the Jedi Temple that was only discovered after the Yuuzhan Vong sacked Coruscant and destroyed most of the surface levels. It had been walled off and the Jedi Temple built on top to originally protect it, though the secret was lost in ancient times. The idea that there was a Sith Temple below the Jedi Temple doesn't really make any sense if you think about it, because the Jedi were on Coruscant and exploring the galaxy thousands of years before the first Sith left Korriban. Either way, the Nexus allowed Luke and others to effortlessly destroy Vong capital ships with mountains of rubble.
Yea but MCoC is cooler😏
Yeah me too, what’s up with that?🤔
The thing with Luke, is like that of Superman. He basically has the power to win any fight that he must fight. But, in contrast like Goku from Dragonball.. Luke doesnt necessarily wield said power as if its simply just, his power, he must throw himself into the hope and faith that he can defend the light, Luke trusts in the Force completely and, a powerful ally it is.
Luke just like superman faces the drama and core struggle of using that immense and indomitable power, for good. And that makes Luke far more interesting than just an "always wins" character.
I cannot imagine Luke being anyone but portrayed by Mark Hamill.
