- Hey everyone! I hope you enjoy some facts about one of my favourite Jedi Masters, Qui-Gon Jinn. We've only seen him in Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, with random appearances in the Clone Wars. If you haven't checked out some of the Qui Gon Comics, I highly recommend it as we only got to see a small piece of him in the movie(s).

Qui-Gon is one of my favorite Jedi masters simply because he could see right through all the Jedi Council's bullshit and wouldn't take any of it.

Roa Ciel Yes, according to Legends, he was one of the few Jedi was completely followed the wil of the Force. His trust was the trust in the Force and he recognized the Jedi Council as have lost that path. So, he gave no fucks about the council's decisions and did what the Force deemed important.

Qui gon is my favorite character in the entire saga. A gray jedi. A wise and compassionate person. A father for Anakin. It is so sad he died
All true, Qui-Gon was so bonding with Anakin like a father towards him on Tatooine and he would've been so much better as Anakin's fatherly figure of a master had he lived. Obi-Wan was just not the one for Anakin, he was more like a strict older brother who just told him to follow the rules of the damn council

Yoda was dumb and far too restricting and by the book to get anything meaningful done. And I will also say compared to other Jedi grandmasters, Yoda does not really offer the same amount of freedom to other jedi. He was to bias toward the light side despite the best Jedi in history mixing the two sides of the force to get a better understanding. Notable figures like *Luke, Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, Jaina Solo, Revan, Cade Skywalker, Lord Hoth, Ulec Qel Droma, Quinlan Vos, Kam Salusaur, and Metra Surik* being a few of the many examples of beings who were or became great Jedi because of their ability to find a balance between the light and dark sides. Yoda was far too paranoid that his actions and rules became so clouded and deluded that those very beliefs and rules were instrumental in turning dozens and dozens of jedi to the dark side in Yoda's time as Grand-Master. It's quite Ironic. He tries so hard to prevent the sith return that his rules to prevent this are the very things that helped it along. *Dooku, Tol Skorr, Starkiller, Kadrian Sey, Quinlan Vos, Qui-Gon Jinn, Anakin, Asoka Tano, Rhad Tarn, Mira, Sora Bulq, Aurra Sing, and Several Others are all Jedi who left or lost faith in the Jedi order* due to its neglect, rules, incompetence, bias, and lack of freedom.

Although some regard Qui Gon as a Grey Jedi. I rather view him as a more self-centered, and wise force user. It´s true, his methods were unconventional. But these decisions led him to find Anakin Skywalker and thus pave the way for the best inter-galactic saga of all time.

Ew, but Darth Vader is cooler. Even when about half of his body was burnt and turned mechanical (Giving him half the amount of total midichlorians), he could still half more total midichlorians than Maul. Has Maul even displayed (in the movies at least) any special dark side force power? He has only used force push and force pull... But he is pretty good with the lightsaber.

You can also hear a single breath of Vader immediately afterwards, foreshadowing Anakin’s future. Yoda was meditating and “saw” that future, but, as he told Luke in episode VII, “Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.”

Other wise he wouldnt have had such a look of shock right before Anakin took his head. i mean its unlikely that he would a been able to see that far into the future to see Anakin go to the dark side then warn his own padawan about friends betrayal yada yada yada. I mean we're talking bout lookin decades into the future, i doubt Dooku is strong enough to do that.
I agree, Sergio. I searched for someone else who saw that too. Like, Anakin betrayed the entire universe, yes, as does anyone who turns to the dark side, by that logic. So Dooku basically told qui-gon to his face, that his love for him is blinding him from seeing his transition. How does obi-wan and Anakin's friendship betrayal and the creation of a sith Lord, tie to a betrayal to qui-gon?

These are just two scenes in clone Wars where he appears as a force ghost, other scenes are just his voice
Unfortunately, Qui-Gon didn't finish his force ghost training. So he can only project his voice.

I’d honestly want to see an anthology film about Qui-Gon. There’s so many unknown things about his past. It would be great to see that brought out in a film. He’s such a great Jedi.

Attack_Dog513 You might be right. I know for a fact Obi Wan and Anakin was grieving which lead to the rise of Darth Vader. Obi Wan lost his friend and mentor while Anakin lost Padame, I don't think he ever saw is mom again and Obi Wan being hard on him as well as a teacher.

Love can lead one to good or evil. Jolee is too optimistic. It can either save you, or condemn you, and Vader is the perfect proof that both are possible.

Jaii Ryouga he's definitely one of the most interesting characters. It was a horrible decision to kill him off so quickly. It would of been great to see him in the clone wars and train Anakin.

Well, if Obi wan did die during Episode 1 then you're right, Anakin might have not turned to the dark side because they didn't interact much, but if he died on Utapau or killed by Dooku it would have furthered Anakin to the dark side even more, because they were best of friends during those times.

I am so thankful for Liam's role as Qui-Gon, he has always been my favourite jedi of all time. It saddens me that we lost him so soon, but in a way it can also be a blessing because his impact was real and we didn't get "tired" of the character after three movies with the same guy. (Doubt it would have happened, but you never know with Hollywood)

If Qui-Gon had survived and taken Anikan as his apprentice, I believe that Anikans fate would have been different. Not to undermine Obi-Wans training. But he was patient enough.

The more I learn about Qui Gon I start seeing so many similar experiences, perspectives, and hardships with him and Anakin. Anakin possibly would've been just like him if he didn't turn and probably more powerful

Qui Gon I believe is what a jedi should be and sees the value in all life while being a benevolent protector for all that is just and kind. He knows that the jedi attempting to scientifically break down the force is what becomes a huge flaw in that jedi order.

I enjoyed the prequels. Sure the Anakin was a cheesy and whiney guy. But for me it's actually really interesting. There's just something about the prequels.

One more interesting fact about qui gon is that he died in the phantom menace
This is just a tangent, but I really like what Clone Wars was able to do with the visual representation of not only he force, as seen in the Father arc, but also with the Midichlorians in Yoda's journey through the world of the fates.
Qui-gon delivered some insightful moments in all forms of media, and it's nice to see that they were able to restore some mysticism to those microscopic lifeforms.
Great video!! Qui Gon Jinn is my favourite Jedi mainly because he kept his mind open and followed his own path, despite what the Jedi council wanted. Eventually allowing him to learn to become a force ghost before any other Jedi from the council.

Jinn did not ask Obi-wan to acompany him, they had to make an emergency landing on a stormy world where they were put in a situation of defending a race dependent on Bacta for food, but which were poisoned easily by salt. It was only after that book in the Jedi Apprentice series that Qui-gon started considering Obi-wan as a potential padawan, and only after they faced Xanatos for the first time on another world were they bonded as master and padawan.

Ok, why aren't any of these Qui Gon Jinn books canon? I mean think about it. If nobody read any of these comics or books, & don't know any of these facts, & just went straight to Episode 1, then they wouldn't feel any attachment to Qui Gon. Unlike Obi Wan. Because Obi Wan was in all 6 episodes. So we feel an attachment to him

I went in with the first star wars movie w/o knowing anything about Qui Gon, he still is one of my favourite characters up to date. My excitement in ROTS when obi wan found out he could contact his old master went out of control

It's been sooooo long since I last watched Episode 1 that I really forgot everything about it (except for the Pod Races coz that is friggin' awesome), and I was instantly in love with Qui Gon. I love characters who are willing to risk many things in the name of truth.
My favourite Star Wars character used to be Obi Wan Kenobi, but after watching Episode 1, it was now Qui Gon Jinn hands down.
